Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 4, 2004 And this is why the Cowboys will get nowhere. Any team with a respectable defense can completely shut down the Dallas offense and then wear down the defense.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 Orlando Brown has made dumbass plays all year. Most of the false start penalties on the offense are on him. 30 of the Ravens 70 penalty yards were on those two dumbass plays tonight. I dont know his contract status but the Ravens have the money under the cap to just cut him and sign a better FA to fill that spot. Im disapointed in the end result of the game but like I've told others, all in all a 10-6 record and winning the division is overall a really good result for the team that wasn't even expected to finish .500. The good news is that the Ravens have money under the cap to improve in the offseason so next year should be as good or better than this year.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 4, 2004 How the fuck was that not a personal foul? He was in plan sight practically choking the guy. Oh well Panthers ball.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted January 4, 2004 The Ravens weren't going to win that game. If the game would have gone into OT, Eddie George would have gotten his 100 yards and Steve McNair might have made a few more completions. Anthony Wright took what the defense gave him and didn't look too bad tonight, but he's not a QB who I would want leading my team in OT. On his one TD pass, that play could have been an interception if the throw was to a WR instead of Heap. Heap was able to wrestle the ball away and land in the endzone because Heap was physically stronger and had good hands. The Titans didn't even have to play honest tonight but the Ravens did. I like Ray Lewis as much as the next person and I'll admit that he made big tackles to deny first downs, but they give him BJs on every play. He'll be in on a tackle that should be given to someone else and they'll talk about how he's all over the place. He makes tackles consistently on backs making catches out of the backfield, but he's supposed to stop them because that's usually the linebackers assignment on pass plays. I'm not trying to take anything away from him but I think they inflate his ability to make tackles. They showed how many tackles he had this season and it looked impressive, but tonight he got credit for alot of tackles that I feel he didn't deserve. Orlando Brown's two penalties were dumb, but overall I don't thkn they really cost the Ravens the game.

Just John 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 Well, shame on me for thinking the CAR/DAL game would be competitive. I still think the Panthers can win the NFC. As for the Titans, they either get slapped, spanked, and embarassed at New England or go down after a valiant effort at KC.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 Panthers got a bad draw, having to go to St. Louis. While Steve Smith can burn, they aren't really set up for a fast track game like they will have next week. Their front four is going to have to come up huge next week to relieve the pressure on their CBs. They would have been better having drawn against Philly. Philly's weakness is the Panthers strength (run defense against Davis) and they don't have the WRs to exploit the Carolina CBs.

As for the Titans, they either get slapped, spanked, and embarassed at New England or go down after a valiant effort at KC. I think they have a better chance against New England personally, as their offense is very capable of scoring points on the Patriots, while their defense will be handle the Pats' offense pretty easily. Kansas City/Indianopolis should be very exciting though, if that even happens. I think the Colts will win, but in today's NFL, who knows.

Just John 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 I don't like the Titans chances going up against a well prepared and rested Pats team. The last time they went to Foxboro, it was September/early October. The weather will be much colder in January which won't do McNair's or George's injuries any favors. The Ravens D held the Tennessee to 20, so a veteran NE defense could keep around 10-13. On the other hand, I think the Titans can gash the Chiefs D for quite a few points, but I don't think they can outscore them. Arrowhead Stadium can do weird things to teams, though. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 4, 2004 Should Green Bay win Philli has no chance as Ahman Green will just trample their defense. If Seattle wins I think Philli advances. Carolina has got no chance in hell of getting past St. Louis

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 Yeah, Philly would have no chance against the Pack. Even though, when they met, Ahman Green trampled them and they still won. But I am enjoying this, I would much rather see a Chad Brown-less Seattle come into town, instead of Brett Favre.
