k thx Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Earlier I logged out and clicked on "register" to see how many letters I could use if I changed my name. However, when I did this, I got a message saying "The board administrator is no longer accepting any new registrations at the moment". I did it again just now to see if it was a glitch and the same thing happened. Is this just for me, a mistake or is Dames shutting up shop for a while?
The Dames Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 I closed the board to new members for a while. Too many trolls keep coming. Dames
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Got the whole town on lock dowwwwwwwwwwwn...
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 What's next, a posting curfew of 10:00 PM? J/K, I think locking down for a bit is a good idea.
k thx Posted January 6, 2004 Author Report Posted January 6, 2004 I closed the board to new members for a while. Too many trolls keep coming. Dames Fair enough. Although if new, genuine people get refused once, they might not try again later, whereas trolls will be more likely to return at a later date and keep on trolling.
Steviekick Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Maybe we should start a TSM Development League for all future posters.
MillenniumMan831 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Maybe we should start a TSM Development League for all future posters. With Dames as Al Snow.
Guest Krazy Karter Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I love that idea. Only allow newbs to post in the "Probationary" folder, and we get to vote in which posters we want as full-time members. Someone get on it.
PLAGIARISM! Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Oh for God's sake... so the 'probationary' folder is full of trolls, and people who might actually want to post here having to suffer a million trolls whilst posting without anyone caring until they get let in. Sign us up!
Bruiser Chong Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I think it's a good idea. I can't remember the last new poster in the last few months who really brought anything, anyway. Dames, while you're at it, you may wanna start deleting some of the users who haven't ever posted here and just registered, only to never appear again.
The Dames Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Bruiser...the last time I tried to do that, I wiped out the entire board. There's about 1500 posters to erase and I simply don't have the time or the patience to sit here and do it manually. Dames
Youth N Asia Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Lock Down...what is this, Oz? Are the Smark Latinos going to try and muscle the drug trade away from the Italians now? -Any man posting +1 spends a night in the box -Any man posting the benifits of HHH as champ spends a night in the box -Any man complaining about a post count spends a night in the box A cookie to whoever gets the any man...night in the box refrence.
Guest Evolution Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 A cookie to whoever gets the any man...night in the box refrence. Cool Hand Luke, one of my favorite movies. That's besides the point, though.

Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 I love that idea. Only allow newbs to post in the "Probationary" folder, and we get to vote in which posters we want as full-time members. Someone get on it. We should just confine them to the WWE folder.

The rule should state that if you post anything stupid in that folder (which is pretty much anything at this point), you will be placed on probation.
Downhome Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 If there are no new registrations, could we "accidently" delete PowerB's account and make it so that he must register again to post?
Golgo 13 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 On the subject of no registrations, I think it's high time we bring it back, if only gradually with probationary measures (i.e. 24 hrs. to get out the confirmation e-mail, a 'read only' forum for the first couple days where hopefully they'll take the time to read the rules, or if it's possible, limiting the number of signups to a set number per day). I mean, there's always gonna be trolls, and thankfully more often than not, they get found out sooner rather than later. But at least now, with the stop on name changes, it'll be less confusing as to whether someone is a troll or not.
Downhome Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 We also need to get rid of all usernames that have been signed up, yet have not been used. I know Dames tried to do so before, but it needs to be done. In my opinion of course.

There's no telling how many of those usernames are trolls just waiting to bust them out. Still, if there are only 906 registered names that have never posted before, that's pretty cool considering the thousands of members that we have. I figured there were more than just 906. I'd, say, delete all members who haven't posted at all in the past six months or so.
Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 One of those is my fault. I tried to register Youth N Asia, but it gave me shit, so I did Youthnasia...then I was able to register Youth N Asia...so the other Youth is my bad
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Fuck, we should close all registrations again. These trolls are multiplying and swarming like Willard's rats. The negatives far outreach the positives. Just cut the chord. And yes, I am including chave's latest retarded posting gimmick too.
k thx Posted January 26, 2004 Author Report Posted January 26, 2004 So, why is it taking so long for all these posting names to be registered? I wanna see what chave IV has in store for us.
