spman Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 I picked up the Mick Foley DVD tonight more then a full week before it's release at FYE for the rediculous price of 29.99. It's 2 discs, and full of great stuff you won't find anywhere's else. The chapters are as such: Cactus Jack vs Big Van Vader WCW Saturday Night 4.17.93 (Starts out with original WCW footage and then segues into Mick Foleys unedited version that he got a hold of back in the day) Cactus Jack and Max Payne vs The Nasty Boys WCW Spring Stampede 6.24.94 Cactus Jack vs Sabu ECW Hostile City Showdown 6.24.94 Cactus Jack vs Chris Candido Smokey Mountain Wrestling 11.18.94 (How'd they get their hands on this footage?) Cactus Jack vs The Sandman Texas Deathmatch ECW 2.4.95 Cactus Jack and Raven vs Terry Funk and Tommy Dreamer ECW November 2 Remember 11.18.95 Cactus Jack vs Mikey Whipwreck ECW Big Ass Extreme Bash 3.9.96 Disc 1 Extras: Post-Vader Match Interview WCW Saturday Night 4.24.93 Cactus Jack vs Sting - WCW Beach Blast 6.20.92 Cactus spits on WCW belt - ECW Hostile City Showdown 6.24.94 "Cane Dewey" promo "Anti-Hardcore" Promo Cactus Jack vs Sabu rematch Hamburg, PA 9.30.94 ECW Farewell Speech 3.9.96 "Jack" Foley and Les Thorton vs The British Bulldogs 9.13.86 WWE Confidential Feature - Micks long absence is explained Disc 1 Easter Eggs: Don't remember exactly how I got them, but so far I have seen the Dude Love Titantron Video and a brief clip from the original Dude Love home video Disc 2: Introducing...Mankind Mankind vs Shawn Michaels WWE Mind Games 9.22.96 Cactus Jack vs Triple H Falls Count Anywhere WWE RAW 9.22.97 Mick Foley vs Terry Funk WWE RAW 5.4.98 Dude Love vs Steve Austin WWE Over the Edge 1998 5.31.98 Mankind vs The Undertaker WWE King of the Ring 6.28.98 Mankind vs The Rock WWE RAW 1.4.99 Cactus Jack vs Triple H WE Royal Rumble 1.23.00 Disc 2 Extras: Mankind Teasers Music to my Ear Mind Games Jim Ross Interviews Mankind The Birth of Mr. Socko Mick and Al Snow in Vegas More Mick and Al Snow in Vegas Commisisioner Foley and Kurt Angle Disc 2 Easter Eggs: Go to Chapters and highlight Shawn Michales vs Mankind and hit left to see the Mick Foley Chef Boyardee commercial Go to Extras and highlight The Birth of Mr. Socko. Hit right to view the movie of Dennis Knight as Mankind visiting the Unemployment office headed by Triple H playing Harry Sachs. Overall so far it's a great DVD, even if some of the stuff on Disc 2 is rehashed. The Vader match on Disc 1 is sick, and has to be seen, I only wish they had included the match from Halloween Havoc. I also would have like to see the Lost in Clevland Vigenettes, but I'm sure Mick probobly never watns those to see the light of day again.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Few big Q's. Is Joey Styles voice removed from the ECW matches. And are the Foley matches bettwen 98-00 all blurry? (damn WWF logo) Otherwise, this sounds like an awesome DVD, and your a bastard for getting it nearly 2 wks. before the release.
claydude14 Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 I'm stopping by my FYE tommorow.... I got a new CD there early last weekend.
JHawk Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Cactus Jack vs Chris Candido Smokey Mountain Wrestling 11.18.94 (How'd they get their hands on this footage?) Because Jim Cornette owns the footage and is technically on the WWE payroll?

I think he's still under WWE Contract, he just happens to work down in wherever OVW is rather than an office in Titan Towers.
spman Posted January 10, 2004 Author Report Posted January 10, 2004 Yep Joey Styles commentary is on all the ECW matches, and yes the WWF Scratch Logo is still blurred.
Styles Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Damn, I hate the blurring...thanks for the info though!
razazteca Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 So disc 2 is matches is full of material that I already own, damn. How they have a best of Mick Foley and only show 2 Terry Funk matches? I'll buy this in only because I have a gift card that I must use.
Guest Metallica Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 The set would have been so much better if they'd left off the stuff they've already put on DVD in the past. There's no need for his match with HBK, cell match with Taker and Over the Edge match with Austin to be on there when they were on his last DVD
deancoles Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Pity there are none of his death matches from japan.
2GOLD Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 You want to know what is really confusing me? I have the Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair dvd and the WWF logo is clear and they say WWF throughout the discs. What gives? I thought everyone said the logo was blurred and any mention of WWF was dubbed out?

I have the Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair dvd and the WWF logo is clear and they say WWF throughout the discs. What gives? geniusMoment Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 You know what pisses me off. I come to this site and without fail a couple of days before a dvd release people begin talking about how they picked it up early. I try to just shrug it off but I can't help myself. I need to go out and search for it now like a fish needs water. I never seem to find it and I waste a couple of hours. By the way this is nothing against the original poster I am just pissed at the situation and what will, without fail, take place over the next couple of hours.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Stores can get sued for releasing DVDs and stuff early, so I wouldn't make a big case out of it if they don't have it. Theres an FYE in the mall here, but I doubt they have it, and I wouldn't pay 5 bucks more for this than I did the Flair DVD ($25), its just not happening. I'll wait and hopefully someone will have it for around $18, which would still be too much technically for this since a majority of the 2nd disc is on the HK/CP DVD (which I got for 7 bucks at a Saturday Matinee going out of business sale in SC, ironically the same store I got the Flair DVD set, but I digress).
MooreMark Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 No, Chredgoley goodness on this! DAMN~!
Guest Sturgis Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 No Slamborre 94' match? No "Training With The Barbarian"? No Texas Death Match with Vader at Halloween Havoc 93' Fuck.

Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 The HIAC match wasn't on Foley's last DVD
Lil' Bitch Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 and yes the WWF Scratch Logo is still blurred. Fuck it, I'm capping Attitude PPVs next month then! PM me with a request.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Are the Attitude matches complete?
spman Posted January 11, 2004 Author Report Posted January 11, 2004 Are the Attitude matches complete? Yep, they're all complete. I just watched Cactus Jack vs Triple H from RAW in '97 for the first time since it's original airing, and man it's an awesome brawl.
brokentusk16 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Sounds like a good DVD. I think I'll use my Best Buy gift card to help pay this sucker off. Maybe pick up the Rey Mysterio DVD while I'm at it. Got a question: what's the deal with the Cactus/Vader match? Did WCW not have all of it and WWE used fan-cam for the rest of the match?
Guest FrigidSoul Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 No Lost in Cleveland footage is bullshit
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Sounds like a good DVD. I think that the match got edited for tv standards because of the violence (there's a sick bump of Vader stiff powerbombing Cactus on the concrete floor), it seems that Mick had the chance to keep the part that got cut-out from the match.
thuganomics Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Not too bad, but I would rather it be a three disc like Flair with several more matches. Foley had several other good matches and storylines as Cactus Jack.

WCW didn't have the entire match in its library - I assume they destroyed pieces of the match when Turner forced them to edit it. No Slamborre 94' match? No "Training With The Barbarian"? No Texas Death Match with Vader at Halloween Havoc 93' Fuck. It's called MODERATION - that's how you sell your product.
Elbarto997 Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Yep, they're all complete. I just watched Cactus Jack vs Triple H from RAW in '97 for the first time since it's original airing, and man it's an awesome brawl. But is every match on the DVD, full matches? Just wanna know. *3 days...*
Guest DR PHIL Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Sorry to hijack this thread for a moment. Since heyman could release ecw videos with the wrestler's theme music intact, how come he wasn't able to do the same on dvd releases?
Tawren Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 I think that the match got edited for tv standards because of the violence (there's a sick bump of Vader stiff powerbombing Cactus on the concrete floor), it seems that Mick had the chance to keep the part that got cut-out from the match. WCW didn't have the entire match in its library - I assume they destroyed pieces of the match when Turner forced them to edit it. The raw footage of the match is out there, Tabe has it, so WCW probably kept it. Best of Cactus Jack in ECW DVD > WWE Foley DVD, it sounds.

So if they make another Flair DVD set, they should put the his Royal Rumble match on there, his match with Harley Race and the I Quit match with Terry Funk? That'd be good for people who don't own any other DVDs, right?
