MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Oh yeah, my favorite commercial was the NFL Network one with them all singing and Jerry Jones doing backflips. As far as the Dome vs Open air thing Choken brought up.. XXXIV - Jacksonville - open XL - Detroit - dome XLI - New Orleans - dome XLII - Arizona - dome (new stadium will be retractable roof) XLIII - Rumored to be Atlanta - dome if that Dome=good super bowl theory holds water then were in for a good stretch of good Super Bowl games....
Guest TUS_02 Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 And while not 4th and 26... having a 1st and 20 should have been a little more helpful to the Cats...
Damaramu Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I'd like to add that the Commericals sucked COCK this year...None of these will be remembered 10 years from now or even 10 days... Well the Budweiser Mule commercial was hilarious.......and the donkey was cute(yes i'm an animal lover).

snuffbox Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 wow...what a fucking game! i lost 2$ with the Pats win...but got 50 in a pool. good evening, good game, lil cash. sublime.

Why the hell can't we have a REAL fucking game? I want SBXLII to be played OUTDOORS in Chicago or New York. Atlanta and Houston proved that you don't have to be a warm city to provide a good SB(as you may recall the last atlanta game was during a ICESTORM and it was cold and rainy this week in Houston)... The weather was nice in San Diego last week but the game blew chunks...
Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Go fucking Pats. Great effort from both teams. Probably the most back and forth Super Bowl I've ever seen. And Brady does it again. As does Vinatieri. For those outside of Boston: 30 seconds after the end of the game, you could hear the absolute roar of everyone. Both Brady and Vinatieri can do no wrong in this town. Super Bowl's need to be played in EVERY city. Enough of this only in warm weather bullshit. Football is meant to be played in the damn north, in the freezing. If me, with two horrid knees and a blown arm, can play a game out on the Boston Common in December during a huge snowstorm, so can pro athletes. Let's get it together.

Bored Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I call it now. New England Patriots vs. Carolina Panthers Round 2, next year, Super Bowl XXXVIV Actualy its XXXIX. Considering there has only been one re-match of the previous year in a Super Bowl (Cowboys/Bills XXVIII) and the current state in the NFL I will guarentee that we will not see a Patriots/Panthers Super Bowl next year. In fact good bet at least one will miss the playoffs and maybe both. Oh and don't wanna quote a million posts but the dome vs. outdoor thing doesn't work with Super Bowl XXXIII (49ers/Bengals), Super Bowl XXV (Giants/Bills), and Super Bowl XXXII (Broncos/Packers) as all were great and all were outdoors. Also consider the two biggest blow outs ever were in domes (Super Bowl XX and Super Bowl XXIV). Its really just coincidence things have gone the way they have the last five years.
NoCalMike Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 both defenses were so tired by the mid-point of the 3rd quarter.......will there ever be teams as good as a decade ago?
ANKLELOCK Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Patriots and Panthers won't be next year's SB. Someone always says a rematch because the two teams are playing so well at the time. Last year the Bucs were supposed to repeat. Pats and Panthers will be lucky to make the playoffs next year.

Guest Ronixis Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Its a good thing the NFL never makes the same mistake twice. WHAT a season, but We can all breathe easy, that no matter how much power MTV has, NFL brings the byrates and will say the perverbal *Fuck YOU* to the porn hounds over there at MTV- That means NO MORE Halftime Productions from that STATION. OH, and what about future contracts for the NFL rights? This is a major strike and blow to CBS (cause there cousins cant behave) and yes...The NFL keeps tabs on these things...Just ask Terry Holt. Maybe Bud and NFL productions should talk more offen, I mean they had the best ads of the night. They can produce a better Halftime show than this trap that MTV calls "Best EVA LOLOL2004!" I was so saddend, that after all blacks have went thru in this country, that after all the people that have died, so people like Beyonce can sing to the troops and the rest of the people at Relient stadium, That Miss Jackson, whole I belived had the dream alive in her, had the gall to MESS UP the FLOW of the Game (IMO) and show her nipple. PISSED OFF TO NO END. But this is why I love the NFL. The NFL shows why America can succed, that it does not need all this, it does not need to try and cater to the lowest common demomator, but it shows us via that 53 diamond rings and one Sterling Silver Ball on a tripod, that with hard work, and pride in reaching a goal, that dreams can come true. The game should be really be made the point next year. They have been moving away from it for years now, and I agree- the NFL should consider making the SB for EVERY stadium, no matter how cold or hot it is, whether it rains or snows. As for the game, Its was as CLOSE as we will get to overtime as we will ever have. Delhomme was great in the last Quarter and a half, Brady was ok, Adam was cluch as always...and SONY is 9-1 in predicting a SB Champ...DAMNIT.
Guest Choken One Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 how exactly did Janet mess the FLOW of the game up exactly?

Just a partially bare breast, it wasn't like she started sucking Justin's dick.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Just thought you might all be interested in knowing that Rodney Harrison broke his right arm, and actually played 3 downs after severely breaking it. Haven't heard anything on Eugene Wilson but it looked like he seperated his shoulder. In the end we had back-ups all over the secondary thus how the Ricky Proehl TD came to be.
Guest Choken One Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 also, what was wrong with Beyonce? Her performence was no worse then Mariah Carey's or CELINE FUCKING CANADIAN DION! Although I'm betting the Groban kid could have belted a nice renedition of the anthem...

The corporate type people who spend the big bucks on the prime seats for the Super Bowl will never sit in a blizzard to watch the game. And honestly, its pretty nice to not have to worry about weather being a factor in the game, although I know everyone will say "WEATHER IS FOOTBALL!". As far as this being as close to a OT game as we will ever have, it wasn't. That would have been 2 years ago when the game was won with a tie breaking FG with no time on the clock. There was still :04 this time.

Guest FrigidSoul Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I actually liked Beyonce tonight, and I'm no Destiny's Child fan or anything
Guest Choken One Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Yeah but his voice would work for the Anthem...the song he performed as sappy by nature... Funny how Beyonce was all ultra conservative with her dress... Simple, elegant and classy.
Cuban Linx Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Lucky for me a thunderstorm passed by a couple of minutes after the game ended, which wiped out my tv, phone and internet for a while. I would have been pissed if it was just a little sooner and cut off the game before Vinatieri's kick.
Guest Choken One Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I guess God had $ on the Panthers.
Vern Gagne Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 both defenses were so tired by the mid-point of the 3rd quarter.......will there ever be teams as good as a decade ago? Unless the salary cap is lifted. No chance in hell, any team will be at the level of a team like Dallas. The game itself was outstanding. Still not sure if it was my personal favorite. The first 25 minutes stunk. That may keep it from passing GB/Denver. Finally I hate too compare anyone to Joe Montana, because it's an unfair. I will say Tom Brady, was as close the closet thing you'll see to Joe Montana today. He made one bad interception, but besides that he came through, and made the completions when New England needed them.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Supposedly some poll thats done on the Commercials has dubbed the NFL Network commercial that I liked so much the best commercial durring the Super Bowl. I don't know whether its the big USA Today poll that usually comes out or not.
JangoFett4Hire Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 How many of you MASSholes will be at Government Center tomorrow afternoon?!?!? I'll be there like a pasty on Janet Jackson's NIPPLE!!!
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 awesome game. Worst. Commercials. Ever. I would have liked to see Deion Branch get MVP. And I love how Antowain Smith sucks all year and suddenly becomes useful during Super Bowls.
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Probably the most back and forth Super Bowl I've ever seen. Did you see the Giants and Bills in Superbowl 25? 3-0 Giants 3-3 10-3 Bills 12-3 Bills 12-10 Bills 17-12 Giants 19-17 Bills 20-19 Giants And then a missed kick.
Slayer Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 My top 5 SBs that I've seen (so far) 1. Elway's Redemption 2. Pats upset Rams 3. The Longest Yard 4. Last Night 5. Giants shut down No-Huddle Something to be said that four out of those only happened within the last 6 years
2GOLD Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 All I remember about Titans-Rams was the longest yard and how BORING the game was up until that final drive. That game is barely in my top five. The ending is one of the tops but that game was incredibly slow.
