RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 The competition is basically.. "Fantasia" and "Everyone else" Latoya is the closest challenger cause she blows the other 3 "powerhouses" out of the water. But still, Fantasias range is sooooo bigger than hers. Red officially scares me. Simon says he has no charisma, and I disagree because it's a different kind of charisma... but shit, DON'T FORCE IT! God, Red cannot pull off anything but smooth. It just becomes creepy when he's all bubbly and smiley.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 I dig George's soul voice, but he was off-kilter at the beginning. JPL actually has found his niche with the funky crazy rock songs. Yeah, he's a damn geek, but he'll stick around a few more weeks because well, he flaunts it and it worked this week John Stevens did good, but his one trick pony isn't as mainstream as JPL's. Layota Jackson? The girl who belted it out? Damn...fastly becoming the best. I'd put money your final four will be JPL, George, Latoya(if that is her) and Fantasia Dude, it's LaToya LONDON. LaToya JACKSON is is the Jackson sister we've seen way too much of in Playboys past. Well, my past anyways I surprises me not one bit that Diana chose a Diane Warren song. I was surprised that that was the ONLY Warren or Adams song last night. Seriously, Elvis? Casablanca? West Side Story? LOVE the variety. Only heard a bit of George's performance, but I think Kimberley Locke did Against All Odds last year, and did a better performance. Call me crazy, but I think Fantasia gave Simon a Hummer. I mean he freaking winked after saying that for christs sake. Does that make her a chickenhead? Anyways, great performance, but I'm actually liking her less and less as time goes on. Sure, she's getting the Ruben/Clay push, but I think that George and LaToya are getting better, faster, as time goes on. I'm glad John Stevens was having FUN again. The last few weeks he's been kinda miserable, and if he goes now, it'll be on a high note. One final thought - this show was on FOX, right? There was so much love for Disney movies that I thought it had moved to ABC...
MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 Where's the Jennifer love? She was in the top 3 performance wise last night. She could have picked something we haven't heard yet though. Fantasia and Latoya were monsters last night, so powerful. I know it won't happen but the black people all making it to the top 4 would be amazing since they are all soo good. George had his first off night. John was boring, JPL yelled to much but it wasn't that bad. I hate Diana, she needs to go. She's like this girl from my high school who's short, fat and happy all the friggen time. Everyone wants to shoot her lol. Jasmine had an off night too but I think Hawaii's diehard fans will carry her through.

I am just wondering which one will be the first to go. I think Jennifer, then George will both job to JPL, or John Stevens.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 I think I saw the two crackers as the last two but didn't catch who was booted. So Who was booted?
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Hell if I know. I'm too scared of running into an Apprentice spoiler to check the AOL boards, where there would surely be a dozen topics all saying the same thing about whoever got booted. EDIT: JPL's gone, I'm not exactly weeping.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 JPL was one of my favs even though there were other better singers, prolly just because I can relate to his nerdiness. Why is John Stevens still there?!?!?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Good. I could no longer contain my hatred for pen boy. He tried too hard and really seemed out of place. Here's betting he does Mandy for Manillow week on Tuesday.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 I loved JPL's voice! God I'm going to miss that little bastard. I'm still pulling for George to win. Not just because he goes to OU but also because he's my favorite. GOD I HATE FANTASIA! I cannot stand her singing! Her voice is so fucking whiny and I just can't stand it. And the whiny thing comes out when she sings to. And I'm glad nobody criticized her this week. Because if I had to listen to her go "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!" or something like that again I'm going to flip. Goodbye JPL......we hardly knew ye. Guest 11and0baby Report post Posted April 19, 2004 I don't see the love for Fantasia's performance, I found it boring and Randy was WAY off saying that was better than ANY Idol peformance as Clay has shitloads that are better than hers and George is gonna win or at least get Runner Up. Fantasia won't win because she is too cocky and her arguing with Simone everytime he critics her in a way that she don't like has to start pissing people off. She should be lucky that it wasn't like with Clay where he was soooo good that Simon had to pick on facial expressions. But Go George!!!!

Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 A little funny story from the Sun Film director Quentin Tarantino had to do a retake of one spot in last week's American Idol because of his unexpected bad language. The show - on which Tarantino appeared as a guest judge - is normally broadcast live in America, but last week a presidential address meant that the episode had to be taped for broadcast the following day. A good job too, as Tarantino originally used some colourful language when critiquing Idol hopeful LaToya London. "I've got three words for you," he told her. "Power F***ing House." Producers were quick to ask him to do a retake, which is what viewers saw in the final cut. "I've got two words for you," he said in the aired version. "Power House." I'd actually heard that he said "effing", as opposed to fucking, but people are hyper-sensitive these days, so they redid it. Good thing it wasn't live, but I think that if it was, QT doesn't swear. On a tangential note, I just saw the "shit" episode of South Park, and it's probably more relevant post-Nipplegate than it was originally. In any case, the only good thing about both Diana Degarmo and Fantasia is at least I know one of them will lose. If I had to choose, Diana would lose. I only saw the recap (Leafs-Sens game 7, plus I was taping 24) and she seemed more... plastic, Barbie-ish than normal...

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 Bleh. I thought George was the worst last night. He sounded like he had a sore throat and was trying to do way too much. He would have done better had he decided to just SING the fucking song instead of screwing around. Diana was pretty ehh too, but the problem with her isn't entirely her singing (though that was pretty off at the start), but that it seems so plastic and paint-by-numbers. If she has charisma I'm not seein' it. John started well and I was really happy, but in the middle he trailed off a bit. He salvaged it a little in the end, and I don't think he should go, but still. My personal favorite last night was LaToya like it frequently is. She was ON last night and completely outdoes Fantasia, Jennifer, and Jasmine (all of whom had good nights, even Fantasia whom I usually don't care for). Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 John just has such a weak ass voice. He has no business on that stage. Sadly either George or Diana are going to go even though it should be Stevens AGAIN. He wasn't bad last night but he was just BLAH as always. George tried to do to much, and Diana was a little shakey, but John once again goes EXTREMELY safe and people are creaming over his blah performance because it wasn't as shitty as the one before. ANd before people start trying to say that I don't appreciate that style of music, I actually do, he just isn't very good at it. He could probably win karaoke night, but seriously, week after week he shows he has no vocal strength, or range yet he makes it through. Definately a popularity thing. And Fantasia, Jennifer, Latoya...that is your toss up for winning, although I think Fantasia will win it. The girl has a incredible voice and is the best performer. Saying she needs sympathy with the kid to win is just ridculous, she has been amazing.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 I think Jasmine's support isn't where it has been so I wouldn't be suprised to see her go. She used to get really loud pops but those seem to have died down. I thought George was horrible and got exposed as not being able to adapt to the theme as is the problem with John. Did they mention what happened to Paula's arm? Did Randy roll over on her?

Fucking 10 years old? I think one of them was Latoya though, so I let it slide .
ant_7000 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 John Stevens should go, but George or Diana will go. John is a good lounge singer and thats it. I think nerds or his family members are voting for him. Fantasia will win this because she has strong powerful voice, charisma and stage presence to be a star, not just because she has a kid. Too bad LaToya is married because she is nice looking. MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 Everyone had soo much power and energy than John came out. Atleast Fantasia kinda made up for it. The baby being brought up though..NEVER AGAIN. Overall very good show. Mz Barbie did better than usual although I still hate her. George was bad again. 2 weeks in a row might mean a bottom 3. Jennifer/Latoya both amazing. They totally outdid everyone tonight. Jasmine was pretty good too but she might get a bottom 3. But she's safe this week methinks. Ummm Fantasia's performance was good but the vocals weren't great.
