Jebus Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 It looks like it's full speed ahead for a HHH vs. Benoit feud but, since I heard Backlash was in Edmonton, let's just say I'm not looking forward to their WM XX match as I once did because I want him to win the title AT WRESTLEMANIA!!! Yes, he will most likely get the title at Backlash and I should be happy but still...it's Wrestlemania! Benoit successfully defending his newly won World title in his hometown is just as good IMO.

Chris Benoit upsets Triple H for his title at Wrestlemania and then HHH embarasses Benoit in his own hometown and takes the title back? That sounds more like something the WWE would do. Or Benoit defeats Triple H by DQ at 'Mania and then loses to HHH at Backlash Needless to say, I'm not feeling very optimistic about this.

The WWE's got to be careful here. They've already had Benoit lose to Austin in Edmonton. They've also had him turn heel there and also lose to Lesnar at a house show in a title match. It's true that Benoit beat Jericho and Rhyno at Edmonton but they were actually under Benoit's status level in the company at the time. The people from Edmonton are more likely to remember this than fans from other places so if the WWE has any sense of logical reasoning the WWE has to have Benoit be succusseful at Edmonton in what I guess'll be a rematch with HHH from Mania. Otherwise, they risk the fans from both Edmonton and everywhere else saying screw this out of frustration of never giving them what they want to see. Will Benoit win? I'm not too sure. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. That pop Benoit's going to get in Edmonton is going to be the pop that end all pops. Edited January 21, 2004 by wildpegasus

HHH gets himself blatantly intentionally DQ'd at Wrestlemania....so blatant that Benoit gets a rematch in his hometown in some sort of stip match.Probably a no dq or if HHH gets dq'd, the title will change hands. Lord forbid Benoit win the title at Mania, and have a succeesful defense a month later against HHH. I'd like to see him win the belt and move onto someone else. But all they do now is have Hunter lose the belt (after a long reign) and then get it right back. No chance for anyone else to even get a shot. If it weren't for Jericho I honestly don't think I'd watch Raw anymore.

If Triple H is facing Benoit and it is infact somwhere in the middle of the card, expect a crudy shitty DQ finish.

I had Benoit pegged to job clean to Orton at Summerslam in Toronto (they can use the Bret Hart rule where everywhere in Canada is a Canadian wrestler's hometown), i figure a 1 month feud won't be long enough for HHH to prove his superiority over the dirty Canadian.

He is on the same Level as Booker T, just a TAD bit more marketable and entertaining but he can't carry a match or cut a promo outside of the comedy realm...and his gimmick will need a little tweakage.

Not only would they do that but they would also more than likely reenact the entire Montreal Screwjob on Chris at the Backlash PPV in such a blatant manner as to make you wonder if the WWE purposely wants to allienate the entire Canadian fanbase to such a point that they no longer give a fuck about the company....

I wouldn't put it past him to deliberately book things just to screw with us. Like, say...aborting an ongoing Lesnar vs. Benoit storyline which would have ended with Benoit winning the WWE Title, moving Benoit to Raw where he'll obviously be buried by Triple H, all because Benoit is the darling of the internet wrestling fanbase? -Patrick
