The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 Brock main evented WM 19. That's a TON of money right there. Then there was the DVD. He might have gotten the best payday at Mania, but I doubt any of the wrestlers get residuals for DVD sales. Dames
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I would imagine they get SOMETHING out of it. If they get a cut of the merchandise, a DVD technically is that, isn't it? Him on the cover of the Smackdown game w/ commercials must have brought him something as well.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 10, 2004 don't forget the Magazine Covers he done as well for various Muscle Mags (I'm not sure how much they get paid for that but I'm sure it adds up to a nice ammount)
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 No way. Hollywood Actors have to have DVD sales in their contracts in order to get residuals from them. I can understand if its a DVD ABOUT them, ala the Flair DVD or the Foley DVD, but not PPV events. I've never heard of any wrestlers getting residuals off of home video releases. If that was the case, we would have heard something when VHS was still the rage. That being said, he probably got a chunk of change off of the Brock Lesnar DVD. The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 ....Sorry then. That was a misread on my part. I thought he meant that Brock was getting a cut of the DVD sales for Mania 19 since he main evented it. Dames

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I've got a question. What COULD Brock do elsewhere that would feasibly get him about the same amount of money as he's earning now? I can't think of anything. Dames Actor? Brock would be PERFECT to play Venom in Spider-Man 3.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Stupid Harvard boy wantin to pro-tect his brain. This is wrestlin, not the damned... New York Times crossword puzzle... You mean this ISN'T ballet? And didn't Nowinski have several after affects, like sleepwalking and migranes, and he hasn't been medically cleared yet?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 So? It's just his brain. It's not like his quad or anything.

Guest Redhawk Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Possible careers for Brock Lesnar ======================= 1. Whatever he majored in at the University of Minnesota 2. Actor (the Dolph Lundgren silent-but-violent types. Or Yao Ming's stunt double when they remake Rocky 4) 3. Bodyguard 4. Bouncer 5. Motivational speaker 6. Bodybuilder 7. Collections agent 8. Police officer 9. Assistant football or wrestling coach at U of M.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Brock would be PERFECT to play Venom in Spider-Man 3. Brock Lesnar as Eddie Brock works...but Lesnar's acting skills are far from perfect. Dames
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Christopher Nowinski is getting heat backstage for taking so much time off over a concussion. Most feel he should have been back by now since someone like Kurt Angle has had two neck surgeries in a short span and has returned quickly. I wonder who might do that. Maybe his name rhymes with Mert Bangle? Eh, gotta be bull. Brock Lesnar as Eddie Brock works...but Lesnar's acting skills are far from perfect. Truth be told, any guys Brock's size are often not good actors, since they're usually athletes first and foremost. That's why when they made the Superman movie, instead of finding someone with the bulk and teaching him to act, they found Reeves and just bulked him up. It's rare to find a guy with the bulk and physique who can act. Eh, they have plenty of time to cast. They seem to be doing alright so far.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 According to Meltzer, NOAH wanted Angle and Lesnar to come in and job to their guys for a very hefty payday, which WWE wasn't took keen on. PRIDE also wanted Angle and Lesnar for shootfights.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I would love to see how WWE would fare without one of their top draws, Brock Lesnar. As far as Christopher Nowinski goes, it all obviously depends on the seriousness of his injury. If he can come back to the ring, but is sucking his time dry, then he has no real love for the business.

Most feel he should have been back by now since someone like Kurt Angle has had two neck surgeries in a short span and has returned quickly. Why the hell would Nowinski hurry back? To wrestle in dark matches? To main event heat? To not appear on pay-per-views? To senselessly join a stable of black men being held down by whitey? I'd laugh like all hell if it was just Nowinski showing his Harvard-level intelligence by sitting on the sidelines and making good money not to work. If/when the WWE cut him, he could fall back on his education and make decent money, with a bunch saved up from his time as a wrestler.
Kaertos 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Everytime I read a report like this I think these two things: - Man, if that were true, that would suck. - Luckily, I read it on the INet, so there is a 85% chance it is total BS.

PRIDE also wanted Angle and Lesnar for shootfights. I dont get that...How does that REALLY hurt Angle and Lesnar? It lets WWE show that they are willing to let their own workers get a big payday and who will know it about within the CORE fanbase? Very Little. Why was Brock and Angle offered shootfights but not Benoit, whom Angle claims besides Lesnar is the only one today who would fare well... If Brock and Angle went, would they get a HIGH-PROFILE match i.e against a Major Name or a smaller name (in efforts to that said person more exposure and to save face just in case Lesnar/Angle actually won)... Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Wow, I've never heard someone complaining about a tough and rigorous schedule. Seriously, big deal. All the guys probably have legit concerns about how much traveling they do. How come Brock's supposed complaints spread all over the 'net?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 11, 2004 He's the #1 star and they aren't expected to complain when the ENTIRE focus of the company is on him and some other guy. They are expected to lead and carry the company, not talk about leaving...that's reserved for bitter midcarders.
humongous2002 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I would love to see how WWE would fare without one of their top draws, Brock Lesnar. WWE will do just fine w/o Lesnar since he is not really a top draw after all, i haven't seen any increase of ppv buyrates,tv ratings or house show sales b/c of him.So he is not a top draw in my eyes
Guest Goodear Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I dont get that...How does that REALLY hurt Angle and Lesnar? If you're talking about PRIDE shoot fights, it could REALLY end up hurting Angle and Brock, you know physically. By the same token, NOAH is one of the more head drop crazy feds last I heard and WWE wouldn't want to chance that happening to Angle either.

Let's not forget that he's also one of the youngest wrestlers at his level, and of course he's going to say brash comments. But like Kahran said, if he wants his pay, he should earn it. By the same token, NOAH is one of the more head drop crazy feds last I heard and WWE wouldn't want to chance that happening to Angle either. I didn't mean PHYSICALLY. I meant how does Jobbing Lesnar or Angle in Japan hurt them when the fanbase is mainly located in America and very little would ever know about it... Obviously, Vince isn't sending any of his golden boys to Pride but I can't see how it hurts sending a couple workers to NOAH. Benoit, Lesnar can handle the stiffness... Maybe its just me but I really would love to see WWE and Noah or anyother Japan company (aside from the shootbased ones) rekindle the old "WORLD CUP OF WRESTLING" thing WCW and NJPW did at Starrcade 1995. WWE's reps would be Eddy Guerrero, Benoit, Lesnar, Mysterio, RVD, Ric Flair(legend vs legend match), Jericho
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 Benoit, Lesnar can handle the stiffness... Benoit had his neck fused, and Brock has mentioned in the past that his neck may need some work down the line (something along the lines of he's afraid to have his neck checked out). You'd be sending them in against guys they've never worked with before. No need to chance 1 or 2 of your big names getting hurt.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I was more or so refering to their toughness and willingness to take stiff shots... Hell, If I could I'd send Holly over there and cancel the return flight.
