What will be the Main event at WM?

The 3 Way match or Brock vs Goldberg

Yes the 3 way match is for the title but WM XX ending with the present and future of the company Brock Lesnar standing over the defeated Goldberg might make more sense.

It all depends on what role, if any, the pink and black attack is going to play. If Bret agrees to be special ref I will personally guarantee the three-way-dance will go on last. And that is a personal guarantee from me. ME!

Rock/Hogan was the "money match" too...

Benoit won the Rumble. The Rumble win gives that person the WM main event. Plus with HHH now in that match, it's even more likely.

I would also argue that Benoit holding the World Title signifies a new day for WWE as well. Benoit's match is a lock for the main.

Whatever Vince wants it to be.

Seriously. I mean, speculation is exactly that...speculation. Between now and then the fans could go ape for an Eddie/Angle fued to the point Vince has to put that last. Goldberg could quit between now and then and screw up plans. Same for Benoit. Who knows...there's still two months to go.

Saying that, Benoit's match SHOULD go on last with the Rumble stip. But maybe Brock will find a loophole in the contract. ;)

Brock-Berg is the only match that is big enough on that card. I really doubt a 3-Way involving Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels will be the last match at Mania XX.

So, yeah. After all the build up Mania XX "Greatest PPV EVER!!!!1111" is looking kinda weak.

Considering I think there's something like four completely logical things that could be placed as the main event of the thing, I'm not sure how you can say its been lame.

Undertaker vs Kane and Angle vs Guerrero beign the other two options that weren't brought up at the start of the thread.

Since WMXX is 5 hours they should put whatever match they think can still draw heat after that much time. Sad to say, but Taker/Kane is probably that match.

I highly doubt Taker/Kane or Guerrero/Angle will close the show.

My money is on the triple threat match, or if they go the 2-Title match WMX route, whomever wins their respective matches.

Brock/Goldberg will be second last.

Vince McMahon is still catching heat for putting Rock/Hogan before The WWE Title Match at WMX8 because the 65,000 fans were absolutely depleted after the Icon match and gave the impression that the WWF Title Match wasn't the proper match to send the crowd home with.

Last year, Angle/Lesnar wasn't the "money" match, that was both McMahon/Hogan and Austin/Rock...and Vince still went with Angle/Lesnar as the Main Event.

That shows that dispite having a bigger match the last two years other then the WWE Title match, vince STILL went with tradition (WM11 aside) and had the treadmark title match as the DEFINITIVE main event.

Question is, Which title is the "TREADMARK" belt this time around? In Vince's Eye, Is it still the one Brock Lesnar currently holds right now and expected to be in the hands of Eddy Guerrero come March 14th or the one that meant more to the Rumble Winner and The title belonging to His Son-In-Law who likely feels he "sacrificed" his Main event status last year and will want another go around with it.

This year...Kane/Taker is Marks Match and Brock/Berg is the Money Match...Undertaker, without question will get the biggest pop of the night (perhaps only A surprise return of Bret can measure it)...

However, It's Vince's Utopia (Brock) that we could see getting the final slot simply for the fact, Vince will want to showcase HIS creation (Lesnar) over Turners(Berg) for his own satisfaction

They have FIVE HOURS to Cover FIVE Big Matches...

Kane/Taker

Three Way

Berg/Brock

Eddy/Angle

Orton/Foley

get about 7 other matches and stretch it out...

Orton/Foley definitely won't main event, it's a side attraction match designed purely to get Orton over.

Eddy/Angle will be a great match, but doesn't have a 'main event' feel, and although Eddy is a hugely over face right now, he'll be defending the belt rather than trying to win it.

Goldberg/Brock is the money match, but as a heel Brock is surely going to win it won't be last match of the night.

Taker/Kane should be fairly low down the card, but Taker's promo vids have been getting huge pops...so maybe, but I still doubt it - although Taker's initial pop will be gargantuan I can't see the heat for this match as a whole surpassing all the other MEs by much.

Which leaves the Three Way. It's got TWO (at the moment) over faces going for the belt on the most over heel in the company. Although the triple threat stip has fucked things up somewhat, it's still (kind of) the classic Mania story. It's gotta be on last.

On a side note, Choken - what the hell happened to Keith?

Everyone who has won the RRumble has main evented WM with 2 occasions:

1995: Don't care.

1997: Just one giant clusterfuck in the writing department.

And no, I will not accept VINCE MCMAHON for 1999, as EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER knew he wasn't going to WM for a Title Match.

It's WM XX, you GOTTA end the show with a face standing victorious. I'm guessing Benoit wins his match so I'll pick that as the main event.

Well clearly. He just looks really different to me, that's all. I don't think it suits him. He seems happy though!

I know you didn't - I was just saying it definitely won't be.

Well, that factors in as well, but Austin "wins" rumble, has his WM right stripped away, HBK vacates title, title is held up for NWO, and then we somehow end up with Sid/UT.

AND WHO THE HELL IS IN YOUR AVATAR?!

The title match should always be the last match on the card. I'm even saying this for HHH/Jricho at Wrestlemania 18. Even if Rock/Hogan was better, and the heat in the match was off the wall, the title belt should've been last. The title is what the company is all about. It's bigger than any hatred, or any man. So, title matches last.

But...putting the Women's title match second to last? At Wrestlemania?!

Austin and possibly Bret will be featured in the main as either ref or outsider enforcer roles. Nothing wrong with Rock vs HBK.

well, He's thirty now and isn't the young innocent babyface we remember him to be from the old days, and of course he's happy because raking in a SHITLOAD of money right now for doing what HE wants to do and not what a record company tells him to do...that and the fact he's been high since the first date of the tour and hasn't let off.

No, The beard doesn't suit him as he looked REALLY odd with it live and in person...He usually just stops at stubble but for some reason he's tapping into his Grizzly Adams period right now that all performers go through at some point...

It's not always the case and besides, Brock killing 'Berg likely would turn him face again and MSG will already be loving him anyways.

OF course, featuring a non-title match last this year would be a neat wink-wink to WM 1 where we got the celebed-up star power laden match of Hogan/Mr. T vs. Piper/Orndorff w/ Ali instead of a world title match.

If you want to do a "WINK" to Mania1...

Put Tito Santana in the opener.

Meltzer reported a little while back that they're thinking about having Undertaker v Kane last. Hopefully, they change their mind on that.

Unless they wanted a really DEAD crowd for HHH-Jericho, they had to put something in between.

I figure the 3-Way match will go on last, with Benoit winning the title to send the crowd home happy. I think the Rumble winner should always be in the main event.

Actually, I don't think that would be THAT bad...It's clearly the biggest angle right now for all the fans and it doesn't make one title look more superior to the other...

Although I do find it odd that after two years of putting the WWE title over the "MONEY" match, they decided to not put the WWE Title match or even the WORLD title match for that matter and put in the #2 big money match and not the REAL big money match with Goldberg/Lesnar.

Like JumpingJackFlash said, the title match should go on last at WM.

The WWE title should be treated as the most important thing in the company. However, I don't think Angle/Eddie has the buildup to be the last match at a WM. I wouldn't put Brock/Goldberg last either (even if Brock retains against Eddie) due to having a heel winning the last match at WM.

And don't start talking about the heel-friendly msg crowd or the fact that a heel won in 2000. Four years ago, they were doing the type of numbers that would allow them to try having a heel champ retain. They aren't doing those numbers anymore and they don't have a program as hot at HHH/Rock was. And yes, Brock will most likely be cheered over Goldberg at msg, but that doesn't mean he's a face. The New York fans might be happy, but those in the rest of the country probably won't be.

I would put the Raw title match as the main event. All indications are that HHH will drop the title to put Benoit over huge at the biggest show of the year. The other possibility is having HBK win and then Benoit challenge him at Backlash in Edmonton. HBK is still a face right now (although he now has tweener tendencies), so it will send the fans home happy and will set up the main event of the next ppv.
