The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 If you're going to say "all of them" just leave. Are there any songs by Floyd that you just cannot stand? Usually I feel they're pretty consistent with having good songs, but there are some that I just can't listen to. The Nile Song (More) - the harshness of it sounds too forced at that point in the band. A lot of people seem to like it but it does nothing for me. Absolutely Curtains (Obscured by Clouds) - the ending of that song is just the most annoying shit I've ever heard on any Pink Floyd album. Mother (The Wall) - I'm sorry. This is a classic, yes, but for some reason I cannot tolerate this nor understand why it would be the classic it is. I wish it was dropped to make room for When The Tigers Broke Free and What Shall We Do Now. Any other personal choices?
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted February 27, 2004 I agree with everythinb but "Mother"
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 "San Tropez" instantly springs to mind.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Have A Cigar. I just don't know why, but its somethin about that song that i can not tolerate
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 I love Have a Cigar...and Mother. With the exception of Learning to Fly...I'm not to keen on any of the post Waters Pink Floyd material. At least nothing that springs to mind.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 27, 2004 San Tropez is a real piece of crap. I also don't really care for "The Grand Vizier's Garden Party" off of Ummagumma, and I really don't like anything off of The Final Cut.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 The Final Cut is God! I'm not a fan of anything off Momentary Lapse, Keep Talking annoys me greatly, the two songs off WYWH that aren't classics annoy the hell out of me, ABITW pts I and II annoy me. I'll probably think of some more later.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Ughhh..TFC is just full of thoughtful acoustic progressive ballad after thoughtful acoustic progressive ballad. It grates my nerves horribly, and is completely stuck in neutral. Can't stand that album.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 The Fletcher Memorial Home has grown on me. And not like a tumor or a cyst, I mean in a good way. I love the music off The Division Bell, sorry bps. Add San Tropez and Seamus to the shitty song list. Echoes really bailed that album out...yikes. Have A Cigar is an awesome song, as is Welcome To The Machine. The whole WWYH album is perfection. Maybe you just don't like Roy Harper.
Guest Mosaicv2 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 BLAH... I enjoy Pink Floyds work... it just mesmerizin... & it brings the 60s to me
Guest Coffey Report post Posted February 28, 2004 I like pretty much all of them. Especially Shine on You Crazy Diamond. I will admit, however, that I try to sleep to Pink Floyd, and everytime Time starts, it wakes me up. That's pretty annoying.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Bring the Boys Back Home. I can listen to the entire Wall album all the way through, but I always want to skip over that song. It's just...not Pink Floyd...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Add San Tropez and Seamus to the shitty song list. Echoes really bailed that album out...yikes You don't like Seamus? Pig. That's a neat mellow little bluesy number that fits in perfectly with an album where every song sounds completely different but still flows together. San Tropez shits me bad though, because it sounds like a bad radio song, which while being intentional, still detracts from the experience as a whole. I absolutely love that album other than that track, and consider it one of, if not Floyd's best.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Bad Pink Floyd songs...heh, thats a good one
BX 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Welcome To The Machine used to freak me out when I was a kid. But now, I'd have to say I'm tired of Bring The Boys Back Home.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 I'm hitting Dark Side burnout...I cannot appreciate the following songs anymore: Time Money The Great Gig In The Sky "Us and Them" and "Any Colour You Like" will remain safe always, thoguh.
