Guest EQ Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I'm just putting this question out there. I assume that most people who frequent this folder will click "yes" but I'm curious to see if any of you would say no. The reason I ask is that in talking with several people about the election (and politics in general) I've found that a significant number of people just simply don't give a rat's ass about politics. The most frequent argument is that "my life will be pretty much the same no matter who is in charge". Sounds ignorant at first, but I will admit that these people have a point. What do you think?

Hmm...putting this question on a board where we spend most of the time discussing the presidential canidates. I wonder how the voting will go.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 There should be a 3rd option. No, as long as its not Bush. Of course, thats sorta contradictory, but its how I feel. I don't really care who wins the election as long as Bush doesn't win.
Guest hunger4unger Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Marvin, I hope you're going to use your vote in December. Imagine what terror the Bush administration will wage on the world if around for another four years! Not to mention what they'll do to the economy.
BUTT Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Marvin, I hope you're going to use your vote in December. Imagine what terror the Bush administration will wage on the world if around for another four years! Not to mention what they'll do to the economy. I think you mean November. As for the Bush administration "waging terror on the world", I don't see that happening, although I do agree that another 4 years of Bush would be bad for the economy.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 If gas prices don't go down, I'm voting for literally anyone who could reduce them.
Guest thebigjig Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 We cant afford four more years of Dubyah... the deficit is beyond perception right now, imagine what it will be with another four years of this innept motherfuckers freeforall spending
Guest The Satanic Angel Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I just don't give a rat's ass.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 From a Canadian perspective, our relationship with the US would probably improve with Kerry in there. I realize most of it was our fault (thanks Jean), but where we go from here is what is important. I can't remember when things were ever this bad between Canada & the US (at least since the 19th Century). On the bright side, the freefalling American dollar has sure improved our crappy Canadian dollar. That said, I absolutely do care, no matter who wins. I also care about our elections, municipal, provincial or federal. And I have little respect for those who don't care. We are fortunate enough to have participatory governments. It seems that some people would rather go back to the days when we were ruled by tyrants. There should be a 3rd option. No, as long as its not Bush. Of course, thats sorta contradictory, but its how I feel. I don't really care who wins the election as long as Bush doesn't win. Even Pat Buchanan?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I'm pretty positive I'd leave the country should that^ ever happen.
Jobber of the Week Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I realize most of it was our fault (thanks Jean) I thought he and Clinton were buddy-buddy and then Prez'es changed and shit started hitting the fan?
treble Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Yeah, Clinton and Chretien are friends but Jean wasn't a big fan of Bush. I think Martin's trying to change that but I doubt Bush really cares.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Chretien wasn't ever willing to work with Bush.
Highland Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Well, Chretien letting one of his subordinates get away with calling the president a moron didn't help.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Well, Chretien letting one of his subordinates get away with calling the president a moron didn't help. Yeah. Chretien was a disgrace as Prime Minister.
Lightning Flik Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Well, Chretien letting one of his subordinates get away with calling the president a moron didn't help. Yeah. Chretien was a disgrace as Prime Minister. As proof when we find out we've got a huge ass scandal on our hands and he's like "oh, it's not my problem, go bother Martin." I'm so convinced the asshole did that just to let Martin take the downfall. Geezus, how the hell did those two have anything to do with the same party is beyond me. Personally, I don't really care about the Presidental Elections of the US. Now, don't get me wrong, I DO mind who is president, but I don't really want Kerry or Bush as my next door neighbouring leader.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Yes, but only because I want Bush out.

Marvin, I hope you exercise your right to vote in December. Oh, and yes I care who wins -- why if John Kerry gets elected he and the Democrats will put an end to all this wasteful spending. Uh, wait a minute...
Jobber of the Week Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Oh, and yes I care who wins -- why if John Kerry gets elected he and the Democrats will put an end to all this wasteful spending. Uh, wait a minute... Isn't it weird? Democrats are campaigning against spending while Republicans hop onto assault weapon bans. The world must have turned upside down somewhere.
tommytomlin Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I'm Australian and I care. The U.S President has the power to shape the course of every country on the planet, so even non-U.S citizens should take an interest. As for who I think should win, John Kerry. Mainly because the guy who I think will be the next Australian Prime Minister, Mark Latham, doesn't exactly agree with George Bush (he called him an 'arse-licker'). Latham and Kerry seem to share the same political views on most things, and I'd also like to see Kerry win if only to put an end to those god damn 'Here is an interesting thing my local conservative journal said about John Kerry because he protested a war.' threads.
snuffbox Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Glad to see our Commander-in-Chief has done such a stellar job making friendly with foreign leaders/nations...now THATS how you fight terrorism.

Your obvious sarcasm aside, it is a good way to combat terrorism. Why fight alone when you can get allies to help you?

When Democrats start talking about tax cuts (And I'm not counting the let's-give-tax-cuts-to-everyone-that-doesn't-pay-taxes rhetoric), then I will truly be scared...
Guest netslob Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 nope...it's always the same boring-ass white guy stealing my taxes out from under me, anyway...same circus, different clown.

Your obvious sarcasm aside, it is a good way to combat terrorism. Why fight alone when you can get allies to help you? Yes...obviously making buddies with foreign nations IS the best way to combat terrorism. Unfortunately, Bush chose to anger the Middle East/Muslim crowd and anger/dissapoint many of our allies. Maybe he just wants to piss everyone off so he can say 'evildoershh' even more.
Guest JustinCredible2k Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Personally I dont know why you people hate George W. Bush so much. The guys who have to pass the bills and have to agree with Bush are at fault just as much as he is. He cant declare war without approval of the cabinet or whatnot. Besides, he is trying to get rid of queers marriges. Thats worth another 4 years in office. Anyone who doesnt agree must be gay to. Thats my 2 cents on this whole fiasco.

2GOLD Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 So the choices are Bush, Kerry and Nadar...... I'm voting for the Macho Man Seriously, they are all cheats and liars and it doesn't matter one way or another. Either we have a democrat dork in the house or a republican loser in the house. It's really sad both parties claiming they are different when they both suffer from extreme views in situations where extreme views are the last thing the country needs.
Styles Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Unfortunately, Bush chose to anger the Middle East/Muslim crowd and anger/dissapoint many of our allies. Wow, that's an interesting take on things. What did those Muslims ever do to us anyway?
