NoCalMike Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Only thing more embarrasing then Titanic being on that list, is the fact that it beat out LA Confidential to get best picture.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 The saddest fact is that A Beautiful Mind and Chicago got awarded since they were saving it for this year thus screwing two amazing films in the process.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Oscars get worse every year...what's the last one they got right? American Beauty?
the max Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Oscars get worse every year...what's the last one they got right? American Beauty? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Sean Astin! I personally think he should've got a nomination for "Encino Man" back in 92. Great movie that was...
NoCalMike Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Oscars get worse every year...what's the last one they got right? American Beauty? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. ermm NO.
bobobrazil1984 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Well... 3 and a half hours. How does that compare to lengths of previous shows?
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Only thing more embarrasing then Titanic being on that list, is the fact that it beat out LA Confidential to get best picture. and Good Will Hunting and Full Monty and As Good as It gets...ANY OF THOSE should have won
Vyce Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 You may not LIKE it, but you will learn to LOVE it. All you assholes stop with your boo-boo faces.
El Psycho Diablo Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Nerds all over the world are rejoicing at this moment. ..and you're saying this on a WRESTLING message board?
Mecha Mummy Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Oscars get worse every year...what's the last one they got right? American Beauty? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. That was the most monotonous, painful experience ever. Not even Will Ferrell and Jack Black could alleviate the pain that award show caused me. I wouldn't mind LOTR winning Best Picture and Best Director if it hadn't also won EVERY OTHER FUCKING CATEGORY IT WAS NOMINATED FOR JESUS CHRIST.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Jackson, if it's any consolation, I couldn't get past the elves and wizards.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Well... 3 and a half hours. How does that compare to lengths of previous shows? average. Nothing will touch the 1997 awards that went 4 hours into 1 30 in the morning that had ZERO star power and was loaded with independent films.
Markme123 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Theron just doesn't look right standing besides all those LotR nerds
Ravenbomb Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 hooray, he brought up his earlier movies! *Marks for Meet the Feebles!*
bobobrazil1984 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Star Wars > LOTR..........BIAATCH. Not the prequel trilogy. *shakes head in a nono fashion*
Guest Anglesault Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Well... 3 and a half hours. How does that compare to lengths of previous shows? That's it? it seemed like so much longer. And some awards had no business or argument for LotR (points to best song) but went anyway for a photo-op. What a joke.
NoCalMike Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Star Wars > LOTR..........BIAATCH. Not the prequel trilogy. *shakes head in a nono fashion* well yeah, excluding Episodes 1, 2(and most likely 3) but those are cash cow films anyway and don't have any bearing on the greatness of 4,5 and 6....
Vyce Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Star Wars > LOTR..........BIAATCH. Not the prequel trilogy. *shakes head in a nono fashion* Not the prequels? Shit, not even the ORIGINAL trilogy.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Theron just doesn't look right standing besides all those LotR nerds How are the actors and crew LOTR nerds? You act like she's at a convention. Besides, how do you know she's not a LOTR "geek"?
bobobrazil1984 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 And some awards had no business or argument for LotR (points to best song) but went anyway for a photo-op. What a joke. yep, such as the editing award and possibly best song. It deserved the rest.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Theron just doesn't look right standing besides all those LotR nerds How are the actors and crew LOTR nerds? You act like she's at a convention. Besides, how do you know she's not a LOTR "geek"? Have you SEEN Ellijah Wood and Peter Jackson?
Kahran Ramsus Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 American Beauty wasn't the rightful winner either. The Insider should have won.
Lord of The Curry Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Oscars get worse every year...what's the last one they got right? American Beauty? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. I wouldn't mind LOTR winning Best Picture and Best Director if it hadn't also won EVERY OTHER FUCKING CATEGORY IT WAS NOMINATED FOR JESUS CHRIST. Yeah, I'm sure being the best is a real bitch. People can try, but they can't front. It was all about P.J tonight and he deserves every fucking second of it. Oh, and go Canada! Barabarian Invasions WOOT~!
Guest Anglesault Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Theron just doesn't look right standing besides all those LotR nerds How are the actors and crew LOTR nerds? You act like she's at a convention. It wasn't an LotR convention? could have fooled me.
2GOLD Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Giving best editing to a three and a half hour movie....right, that sounds reasonable.
Markme123 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Theron just doesn't look right standing besides all those LotR nerds How are the actors and crew LOTR nerds? You act like she's at a convention. Besides, how do you know she's not a LOTR "geek"? Have you SEEN Ellijah Wood and Peter Jackson? Find a group shot of the winners and tell me she doesn't stand out from the shaggy hair, pasty skin, bad combovers... (not just talking about the men)
Guest El Satanico Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Long movies can have good editing...who told you they can't.
