The Decemberists Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I though it'd be interesting to see what we could come up with. sorry if it's been done before. John Lennon - Life Begins At 40 Obviously because he was killed a few days after his 40th birthday Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blues Because he drowned in the Pacific Ocean. (or at least I'm pretty sure it was the pacific - i stand prepared to be corrected) So what others can you think of?
Murmuring Beast Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Dennis did drown there, I'm sure. On another note, I love the sig, MIG. What a tosser Platt is. Overrated mince all his life.
C Dubya 04 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Jann & Dean had a song called "Dead man's curve" about a car wreck that ended up happening to one of them.
Ripper Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Alanis Morriessttes examples of ironic moments in her song "Ironic" aren't actually consider ....um...Iron..i..cies...or whatever. You know what I mean.
Slayer Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Alanis Morriessttes examples of ironic moments in her song "Ironic" aren't actually consider ....um...Iron..i..cies...or whatever. You know what I mean. In other words, it's ironic that her song is titled "Ironic" when it's not about irony at all
Skywarp! Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Snot -- Joyride If that's the title of the 3rd track. The lead singer died in a pileup, and this song ends with his scream being cut off by the sound of squealing brakes and wrecking cars. It sends shivers.
DMann2003 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Nirvana- "I Hate Myself and I Want to Die"- even though it's just the title.
The Amazing Rando Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 "Pool Shark" - Sublime Talks about Bradley and his heroin addiction... what eventually killed him... "Radio, Radio" - Elvis Costello & The Attractions It was banned from many radio stations...
snuffbox Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Would 'Abraham, Martin, and John' by Dion count for the Bobby Kennedy lyric at the end?
Guest Cover of Darkness Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 "Englishman In New York" by Sting was ironic because he really WAS an Englishman in New York.
Mecha Mummy Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I don't remember the actual name of the song, but I believe there was a song by The Gits about being raped. And then Mia Zapata was raped and killed.
Lando Griffin Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Jennifer Lopez "Jenny From the Block". Maybe that's not so much ironic as it is a load of bullshit.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Queen: Too Much Love Will Kill You. Nope, AIDS...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 and Another One Bites the Dust.
Steve J. Rogers Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 In "Come Together" John Lennon says "Shoot me" several times
