'MACHO MADNESS' TO BE UNLEASHED IN ACCLAIM ENTERTAINMENT, INC.'S 'SHOWDOWN: LEGENDS OF WRESTLING'

Company Signs Exclusive Agreement with 'Randy 'Macho Man' Savage'

to Join its Ultimate Wrestling Video Game Supercard

GLEN COVE, NY, March 03, 2004 - The "madness" that captivated the world of professional wrestling will once again rule the squared circle, as Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ.SC: AKLM) today announced that it has exclusively signed Randy 'Macho Man' Savage to appear in SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling. Currently under development with Acclaim Studios Austin, SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling features signature entrances and taunts for each of its 70+ Legends and an array of bone-breaking matches, including Table, First Blood, Iron Man, Hardcore, Ladder, Cage and Battle Royal.

"Every sport has a handful of legendary athletes who possess an extraordinary ability to connect with the fans," said Brian Shields, Brand Manager for Acclaim. "Randy 'Macho Man' Savage is one of those athletes and we're thrilled to announce his involvement in SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling. Wrestling fans of all ages have been waiting to see this legend back inside the ring and heat things up the way that only the Macho Man can."

"OH YEAH! The Madness is back! The thought of returning to the ring with Acclaim for SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling gives the Macho Man goose bumps," said Randy 'Macho Man' Savage. "Don't be mistaken; I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to drop the big elbow on anyone who gets in my way. I've been on one side my whole career and that's mine. I've made it clear who I'm gunnin' for - the only question is, 'will he accept my challenge?' Find out this June, as the most dangerous man in the history of professional wrestling returns. Dig it!"

Exclusive images of Savage can be viewed at Acclaim's SHOWDOWN: Legends of Wrestling Web site (www.legendsshowdown.com). Fans can visit the site and register to become part of "The Legends Legion," a free membership that qualifies them to receive ongoing email updates highlighting the latest gameplay and talent announcements. The SHOWDOWN site also provides visitors with exclusive product information and free downloadable content.

A second-generation professional wrestler since 1975, Randy 'Macho Man' Savage is a six-time World Heavyweight Champion. One of the sport's most successful and popular wrestlers, Randy 'Macho Man' Savage has also achieved mainstream celebrity status outside of the squared circle. Recognized by many as the official spokesperson for Slim Jim products, Savage also starred in Sony Films' "Spider-Man" and most recently released his debut Rap album titled, "Be A Man."

Holy. Crap.

Insanity.

I've been waiting for this forever.

I hope the game engine is way improved from the last game, though. As well as the awful entrance music.

Is there anyone who isn't in this game who's been in previous ones [besides RVD]?

Why won't RVD be in this version? They have Scott Steiner, so I'd assume they could have RVD too.

Steiner signed a multi year contract with Acclaim before he signed with WWE, so he's allowed to be in it. I believe that RVD only signed on for the first game, which was before he signed with WWE.

I really hope they're able to get the late Curt Hennig and Rick Rude into this game.. re-creating the Heenan Family would kick so much ass.

Blah, the graphics look sick but the first two LoW sucked big time.

Acclaim seems to be very stubborn and they won't change the gameplay.

Their site says it has some sort of new system of control... but then again, they said that about the second game as well.

My BIGGEST gripe with this game series, actually, was that when you had anything other than a singles match, the camera zoomed out so far that you could barely follow the action inside the ring.

Jim Neidhart should be in the game so you can team the Hart Foundation together.

Being able to recreate the Hart Foundation vs The Bulldogs would kick ass. Am I the only one who wishes that [shut up] Brutus Beefcake was in this? If only for nostalgia? Reteaming the Dream Team [Valentine & Beefcake] would kick all kinds of ass. :P

Bret, Owen, Bulldog and Pillman are in there, so it would be awesome if Neidhart was in too.

It'd be better than Dino Bravo, that's for sure.

Anyone know which fake arenas are in the game?

From the screenshots I've seen WMX, WMIII, WMx-8, and one that looks like the Boston Gardens.

They're actually licensed arenas - MSG, Pontiac Silverdome, Skydome and Boston Gardens, to name a few
