Which "Finisher/move" makes you go....

Recommended Posts

Guest glennsoe

Just wondering which finisher or "regular" moves that makes you jump in your seat and go; WOW DUDE !! That's got to hurt !!

My quick pick's would be:

* Kenta Kobashi's "Burning Hammer"

and

* "The Musclebuster" (sp?) (i think Damien 666 uses this move)

Please can someone state some really crazy looking moves and describe them to us, the fans with limited knowledge ?

By describing the move i mean; Wrestlers name, name of finisher and short description of the move - ok fellow fans ?

I always love:

Jon Dahmer-Move Of 1000 Maniacs (gotta love that name)-powerbomb into a piledriver

It's the main reason I enjoy CZW's openers (almost always Dahmer vs a student)

A couple of mine would be:

Super Dragon- Psycho Driver

Mike Awesome- His Awesome Bomb over the ropes throw the table he did back in ECW (Who didn't think that hurt like hell?)

Nobody's mentioned the best move of all - the STORM~! CRADLE~! DRIVER~!???!!!!!! It's a Half Back Waistlock/Half Nelson combo lift into Neck Cradle Sitout Inverted Powerbomb w/ a MEGA head drop.

- any move by Nick Gage or Nate Hatred, and especially their double team moves

- Super Ki Krusher

- B-Boy's FACELIFT DROPKICK~!

- B-Boy's T-Bone and other suplexes into the ringpost

- Chris Hamrick's Southern Bell Ringer (Super Piledriver)

- Red's Infared Splash, when he lands his feet in the guy's face

- Kaos' Kaostify (Super Forward Flying Gourdbuster that just makes me cringe)

- EZ Money/Jason Jett's WCW finisher - Crash Landing (Release Vertical Suplex into Catching [Midair] Sitout Powerbomb a.k.a. an Orange Crush); Trent Acid also uses this occasionally

- Joel Maximo's multiple Non-Release/Rolling Sitout Powerbombs

With the Psycho Driver - it does indeed look sick, but most of the time what Super D. does is toss the guy into a High-Angle X Factor and less of a Piledriver, so they really land more face-first than on their neck, except when its Rising Son, TARO, or Excalibur, who take the move in fuckin SSSSIIIIIICCCCKKKKK manners.

EDIT: Add Monsta Mack's Straight to Hell to my list. It's a Super Avalanche-Style Emerald Frosion and looks absolutely disgusting.

In terms of submissions:

- Jinsei Shinzaki's Goku-Raku Gatame (Cross-Arm Choking Camel Clutch)

- the Cattle Mutilation (Bryan Danielson): Front Bridging Double Chicken Wing w/ victim on stomach, but sometimes done with them sitting on mat

Damn, got to agree with the Storm Cradle Driver. At CZW Tables, Ladders and Violence the Hurricane Kid took it and my instant reaction was to yell "FUCK!" very loudly. It looked especially bad as the only other time I'd seen it, one of the Maximo's had sold it as a facebuster instead of taking the headdrop.

Another cringeworthy move is one I can't remember the name of. Ric Blade does it and it was the move Trent Acid used to pin Blade at BOTB3. It starts with the opponent bent over and Blade behind them holding their arms in between their legs. Blade then pulls up on the arms, spinning the opponent over onto their neck/shoulders, while Blade sits out at the same time. Does that make sense?

I know what you mean...It's a Sitout version of Ruckus' Reverse Chronic...

- EZ Money/Jason Jett's WCW finisher - Crash Landing (Release Vertical Suplex into Catching [Midair] Sitout Powerbomb a.k.a. an Orange Crush);

Actually, he never held onto them, so it was more of a release vertical suplex, honestly. I like to think of it as an Orange Jacknife (or Orange Poochiebomb, whichever you prefer), as he DOES release them and let the momentum take them over. As an aside, I think the best selling of this move was either Kid Kash or Alan "KweeWee" Funk, as both men kinda "floated" down to the mat, but then popped up and fell back down after landing (sorta the "springboard" effect of falling from a high elevation).

I love the spot in a few Sabin matches when Chris has his opponent for a backdrop driver, but they roll forward and turn it into a SICK piledriver? Awesomeness. Hail Sabin. Booyah.

Any move done by Samoa Joe make me cringe.

CZW guys do way too many moves where you end up on your head and neck, that's just too risky. Same with the SAT.

A-Train's deal where the guy is laying backfirst longways on his shoulder and he drops down. I saw Punk hit Cabana with that at an indy show back in 2000 and thought he broke his back.

The cradlebreaker looks like it could hurt. And a properly done shining wizard looks like it could hurt

If that is the neckbreaker type move with the opponet upside down then I have to agree.

Wrist Clutch Ki Krusher

Low Ki's last kick in his kicking series when he hits it.

That pump handle into a sitout piledriver. A few guys are doing that now.

Slim J's Spinning Cradle DDT.

When its done properly the Jay Driller.

Red's Infared Splash, when he lands his feet in the guy's face

He only did that once, too Ikuto Hidaka. That was sick as hell. His face swole up like a ballon. His vains were popping everywhere too.

Are you talking about the original Rings of Saturn or the one version that he used shortly before he was fired from WWE?

The original RoS where he got you on the ground in the double chickenwing is quite painful but not as painful as the second Rings of Saturn (AKA Stranglehold Gamma) where he sat you down, put his leg over the back of your head and stretched your neck. I know from experience that the latter version hurts like fuck.

The Green Phantom calls this the Phantom Menace

iws068.jpg

These two are something that Pierre Carl Ouellet broke out at our last show. It's like a Walls of Jericho Power Bomb variant.

The Submission:

The Power Bomb:

But no move is as deadly or as painful as this one:

How exactly do you get somebody into position for a Phantom Menace?

You pick them up off the ground like wheel barrow suplex or you can do it as a counter to that Rey Mysterio bulldog move.

Slim J's Anger Management. I love the way he does it.

The Boot Scrapes will always, always get a pop out of me. The last kick (running) looks brutal as all hell, especially when Joe does it, since there's a whole lotta manpower behind that kick.

When Homicide tosses down the Cop Killa, there's nothing sicker. Especially the one done to Trent Acid @ Best of the Best 4. Acid takes it right on the top of his skull.

Punk's Pepsi Plunge to Honma at Final Battle was disturbing. Honma took it as less of a Pedigree and more of a Tiger Driver '91....OFF THE TOP.

Gotta nominate a spot that's more of a reversal...

-The spot where the attack leaps off with a front dropkick and the receiver just powerbombs them out of mid-air. Just saw Liger due it to Hayabusa at the J Cup 94 and it was sick as hell

Super Dragon's Psycho Driver #3 (Piledriver from a Spinal Shock/Widow's Peak position) He's only hit it twice so far... but man is it sick.

Jay Driller/Tiger Driver 98: Both great when hit right...

The Double Backdrop Driver that Gage and Hatred gave Azrael at CZW's Ultraviolent Freedom of Expression. He had nowhere to land but the top of his head. And the fact that he also BOUNCED didn;t help matters for him i'm sure.

Kawada's Gamenguri Kick.

Kobashi's Burning Hammer. Crunchy to say the least.

The head spike version of Misawa's Emerald Frowsion that he seems to save exclusively for Kobashi.

The Psycho Driver when its done properly and he drops them right on their head.

And the Three Backdrop Drivers that B Boy gave Super Dragon at BOTB 2 were some of the nastier ones I've seen. Dragon was having trouble even standing up after those.

The Kop Killer/Vertebreaker/Kudoh Driver is sick. SCD is awesome too. AJ's Styles Clash 03 on Kazerian was brutal as well. The Pepsi Plunge on 1/10 SICK. I thought Daniels was hurt legit.

When did Best of The Best 4 happen?

Joker's Driver is sick, Storm Cradle Driver except off his shoulders instead of lifting and dropping. The one Cash took at Cage of Death 5 off a ladder through a table was sick as hell.

A stiff Yakuza Kick always makes me cringe.

Suplexes where people get dumped on their head.

Ki's Hanging Dragon.

Steiner Screwdriver - vertical suplex lift into square driver. I guess it doesn't really hurt cause you'd be crippled if you weren't well protected, but it looks sick and would be damn scary to take, I think.

Nagata Lock 3, I was in it not long ago, it hurt a lot. I don't know quite how to describe it, kind of a deathlock/Regal stretch combo I guess.
