muzz 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Well, I no showed, but I'm confident (I hope) Ejiro wrote. Go Graps, IL, Toxxic. Too tired to read everything yet.
Guest Aecas Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Bah @ losuing the title on the first defence, shite. That being said congratulations to Toxxic for writing a very entertaining match. Well done IL for grabbing the IC Strap. W&D retain so grats to them as well. A big well done to Alan Clark for his efforts. And Dace defeats Danny Williams! And finally congratulations to our NEW SWF CHMPION Charlie Mattews!
the.weej 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 (edited) Card's up, in record time as promised. And... you no-showed, Muzz. I see. You know, that's what I wanted to talk about... Part of me really wants to say that I'm unimpressed with the overall effort that went into this PPV, because at least from what I was marking, there were way too many no-shows. Especially that DNS; unless there was some communications problem, I'm not happy about that at all. I'm not sure about the other markers, so I hope it was just me, but still, the amount of participation was unsettling. But I'm not going to rant and try to keep the whining to a minimum, because on the other hand... how in god's name do I fault a PPV where all but two matches (excluding Coyjiro vs Muzz, which we don't know about yet) require two posts? Seriously. That's an incredible showing from the people who DID write, so what can I say? I guess one cancells the other out, as I am very happy with what was written for the PPV. I'm going to try to go to an effort to read everything and comment on it... tomorrow. Until then, I will say first and foremost, I'm impressed with Toxxic's big effort and big victory, and SS, of course, getting his hands on the world title. Oh, oh! And IL as ICTV champion. Jesus, whodathunkit? Now, MORE COMMENTS. Seriously, the last couple of shows have had dreadful amounts of people saying anything. No excuses for this not to break 20 replies. -Z Edited March 8, 2004 by realitycheck
the.weej 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Coyjiro vs Sacred added. I debate taking up Raynor's offer of having his family executed to prevent further such lateness. Until then, though, I will be bowling with an 8-Ball. Stupid thing! -Z
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 I must admit... I haven't seen writing that good in a long time. I'm just... Wow. Firstly, Matthews. Congrats on becoming the new World Champion. I would call you a lucky bastard if I hadn't seen the match and frankly, you worked like a pro in your storytelling. I read the whole thing and seriously believe you'll have a great run with the title. My hat's off to you, Champion. Yo! Clark! You wanted to show me the outline of your match, and I'm so fucking glad I never got to. That match was just absolutely insane, and like the commentators, as much as I didn't want to read it, the more I can became fixiated in doing so! Congrats on the big win. Congrats also go out to the new ICTV Champion, Insane Luchador. My friend, you've come a long way since the day Lightning Flik pinned you for the SJL Television Championship. Needless to say, you put in the effort and here you are. The New ICTV Champion. I might've forgotten a few matches due to the fact I can't think straight (I'm running on little sleep nowadays) but know I loved the show. Great stuff. Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 I'm assuming Va'aiga no-showed, then? *dreads the show after next* Anyway, from what I've skimmed, props go out to Toxxic, Rando, Coy, IL, W&D, DURAN~...awesome job, everyone. Now, if I can get a chance to actually read the show later today...
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Awesomeness all round. Congrats SS, whether V showed or not that was a hell of a match. First show I've read in a while, makes me want to return...
the.weej 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 I'm assuming Va'aiga no-showed, then? *dreads the show after next* Yeah, I was going to try and keep it a secret that Va'aiga no-showed, but that didn't work. I figured it might be good to hide it for two months or so, just so you didn't burst into tears or anything. And no guarantee I ask Thugg to book that. There's definitely going to be something with the world title, though. Oh, and Esk... do it. Doooooooooooooooooooooooooo it. The power of... uh... me compells you! -Z
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 That was a goddamn awesome show. Big up to all those who won, particularly Wild and Dangerous - that tag team match was EXACTLY what tag team wrestling should be, in my book - fast-paced action, stunning doubleteams and excitement all the way. Dace beating Danny was great too, even if it would have been better if it was someone returning in order to bolster the roster a bit. And i want to know how the heck I won. But i did - which now means Toxxic's gonna have to DEFEND the damn thing. Poor guy.
Dace59 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Firstly, Dace vs Danny has set everything with Danny to rest in a nice way and we can all move on from that issue now. I just had to do it, Danny put in some amazing stuff. Now I never have to speak of it again. Hope you lot enjoyed it as well. Now, stuff that matters like the other matches. Big congrats to IL on winning the ICTV belt. Really really sweet into to the match, nice touch. DDT maina a bit. I can't lift him, but I can still make him nut the mat House of Todd go a great intro. It's the perfect PPV touch, something like that. Nice to see going over the top with Todd's nicenames. Watch out for his ego people. I LOVE the Superplex Senton spot, that one rocked. Flase finished galour as well. Good good stuff. And another hot entrance in the USJL title match. Sweet Zombie Jesus is such a cool line. Nice psych with brining up the match from the last show, etc. The falling off the ropes was another great bit as well. Janus vs Duran... brutal, just brutal. You guys make me so proud. Duran trying to run... well makes perfect sense. What a bump eh, and some CZW line rip offs. You have my approval. Corngats to Toxxic on such a big win so soon. More hardcore maddness. I do so love to read gorey maddness. Maybe breaking into the close counts a little early, but hey, it's hardcore baby. Very sweet ending. Everyone is making great intros here, with Alan Clark really building it up against Thugg. Always nice to see a good ragdolling. Cool work with haveing Thugg become even more like Hogan and not even leave his feet to sell. And what an ending... As the for the main event, wow. That was fantastic Grap. Brilliant planning, like the the chairshot, DQ, submission to even it back up. Another fantasic ending as well. You did great man.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Yeah...congrats to Toxxic/IL/Coyjiro/Supes on their title wins. Ya'll deserve it. And Duran gets congrats too for the great Cage Match, and Dace for beating Danny. Good showing from W&D...pity Todd's gone AWOL so I couldn't show. Marking out for the entrance guys, awesomeo stuff. And cheers for not pinning me Major props to Rando...way to bring the greatness again man. I absolutely loved that match, and I marked for the Bloodmist. Looks a pretty damn good show from first viewing...again, pity I didn't/couldn't show for it. Shit happens I guess.

Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 If anyone liked the W&D Tag Team match, give WC all the credit for that one. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 INTRO Only thing I want to say here is: Woo, Funyon got PIPES. Charlie "Grappler" Matthews vs Insane Luchador INTERCONTINENTAL/TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP First off, the video package was fitting for a match that was almost completely thrown together last show. You made it look like something that had been around at least for 2 or 3 shows. *wink* The opening few paragraphs is crazy to keep up with, as both guys are just trading moves, with IL getting his ass handed to him at every moment. What most people could have wrote in 300 words, this was managed to be wrote in about 100 or so. Also Grap is being played up as a heel in this match, when during the main event he is going to be SUPER-FACE, and that just seems a little odd to me to read that way, but then it slowly turns into a face vs. face match around the time the superkick gets fired off…thusly confusing the hell out of me. Luchador turns DDT crazy all over the place, trying to crush Grap’s skull in after brawling on the outside almost as much as in the ring….and after reversing the Time Machine and hitting two or three MORE DDTs, the match is mercifully over and IL wins the ICTV strap~! Favorite Spot: IL busting out a DDT as a reversal to a piledriver onto the floor. Absolutely sick and a favorite SD2 move for me. Favorite Line: “it was the Insane Luchador who used his skill and experience” – does IL work for the video production crew now or something? (just kidding of course) Rating: ***, Perfectly Acceptable DDTing all around. Wild and Dangerous vs The House of Todd WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP I mark for that damn choir and their song. Praise Todd, indeed! He is an awesome Todd. It always puzzles me why Todd doesn’t ENTER to that during PPVs, because it seems so fitting with Smith and Riley just going crazy over their beloved Todd and Savior. Riley isn’t as good a worshipper as Ejiro was, but I don’t think anyone really can be. Todd has prophetic words about Alan Clark taking away WC’s Title…ooooooooo….and then our Savior goes into total preacher mode until W&D appear to shut his ass up. That opening was so good it seemed like Royal wrote it. Calling Todd ‘the Messiah’ as a nickname = gold. The referee seems to be doing a lot of admonishing throughout the match, as that must be Todd’s Will. Also the double-team madness from the champions is damn near insanity, as Johnny and WC repeatedly use each other as weapons to take out Todd and leave Landon suffering on the outside. Is it just me, or should that be the other way around (so as to create face-in-peril and whatnot)? As the match continues, face beatdowns turn to heel beatdowns and then crazy lucha antics as everybody dives from inside to outside…and THEN Cyclone Comet drops the S-Bomb, something I didn’t think superheroes did. I also didn’t think it was possibly to kick out of the E.L.E., but Todd *is* Todd after all. And then true tag team spirit builds as it becomes near-fall city until that cringe-worthy falling sitout piledriver that should have knocked Todd’s lights completely out, and Wild and Dangerous go against Todd’s Will with the victory! The only thing this does…is make it seem like Todd is talking big and failing, basically the same thing Alan Clark had been doing for weeks on end. Note to self: don’t let him near CW title. Favorite Spot: The End spot. Todd Damn that was crazy. Favorite Line: “Let he who has not sucked cast the first chant!” – that needs a t-shirt. Rating: ****. Awesome Tag Team action with an amazing ending. Sacred vs "Coyote" Coy West UNITED STATES/JUNIOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP Everything was just golden through the whole match. Playing up the history between Sacred and West from a few shows back and then going into Coy playing ragdoll and playing up even more history with the HUGE Spanish Inquisition nearfall early in the match. West then begins showing huge cahones to keep kicking out over and over again, showing that he isn’t going to give up unless he can’t feel below his waist. Sacred then comes out of nowhere going cruiser crazy with the triple jump moonsault and West MOVES~! Sacred eats the mat and it’s a few quick flashes of the Coyote’s skill before the Slingshot Suplex takes the USJL title home to the kiddies in the SS General Lee Junior. Favorite Spot: Coy falling off the top rope from the bloodloss. It’s something that is never seen but always has the possibility of happening. I’m disappointed in the lack of a spinning toe hold, however. Favorite Line: “…they should name it the non-descriptive title!” Rating: **3/4 …would have been more, but it was short and after West moved out of the way of the ‘sault it ran very quickly to the finish. John Duran vs Janus PINFALL ONLY STEEL CAGE MATCH Duran pulls out GSMS’s bat and wields it high and mighty, standing across the ring from Janus and the mighty Equalizer, wrapped in barb wire…and then he eats it. Oh yes he does. But as soon as Duran mounts ANY kind of offense, Janus comes out full force and goes all kinds of extreme and I’m loving that sick punch right into Duran’s jaw and then using the biggest weapon of them all, the steel cage. This match is so fucking primal it should have been on Animal Planet or something. Damn. Either that, or on some medical channel the way that Duran’s face gets rearranged throughout the match… AND JANUS SITS UP FROM A FUCKING CHOKESLAM ONTO LIGHT TUBES~! Duran better run …but speed vs. speed ends in chair vs. skull…and CHAIR ALWAYS WINS! The crowd is livid and JANUS STILL KICKS OUT~! He can’t survive much more…but then they CLIMB THE CAGE AND DURAN FALLS 15 FEET TO CANVAS! SICK…and it’s still not over! Then it’s huge spot city, culminating a HUGE INSANITY DRIVEN RAGE UNLEASHED AND DURAN STILL KICKS OUT OMG WTF~! The crowd is in shock and so am I as Duran fight back and blows the roof of the building in a collection of hideous boos, pulling that BFT out of nowhere for the fucking victory and Janus is PISSED and Duran’s gets his ass out of Dodge! Favorite Spot: Rage Unleashed. Good GOD that was insane. Favorite Line: “Apparently Janus had a little bit too much crazy juice this morning!” – ya damn right he did. Rating: ***3/4 - Is Janus vs. Duran over…FUCK NO~! DAMNATION IN A BOX I SAY! Aecas vs Toxxic 200 LIGHT TUBES MATCH – HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP Hardcore Gamer’s Championship on the line with 200 Light Tubes?! Who thinks up this crazy shit! Watch as Aecas immediately busts out the Chokebreaker and Toxxic feels some rookie pain! Watch as the champ destroys his opponent’s back with light tubes just for the fun of it! Watch as Toxxic tries to come back hitting everything he possibly can, but even with glass breaking over his head, the Black Angel stands at attention. SHAKE IN YOUR BOOTS, MORTALS! HAIL! Then it turns into another game of TOP THIS as champ and challenger beat the living shit out of each other with everything they can find and finishers are hit all over the place? Toxxic Shock Syndrome on the OUTSIDE! You’re Fucking Nuts! Wait…Toxxic working for the Unnamed? Nahhhhhhhh…. …but then he pulls out a KNIFE and starts cutting away like the freak he is and will be after he almost destroyed both of them with a HARDCORE SUPERPLEX CROSSBODY AND AECAS KICKS OUT….but he only prolongs the inevitable as TOXXIC SHOCKS THE WORLD and makes the Angel TAP THE FUCK OUT for the WIN and the TITLE! Favorite Spot: TSS to the outside. Ouch. Just Ouch. Favorite Line: “First off, why not get the first shot in if you can? Second, why the hell isn’t he intimidated!?” – Riley in reference to Toxxic not backing down and not cheapshotting the champ. Rating: **** Why does it get four stars? Because the story was fucking awesome, the spots were balls to the wall insane, and Toxxic wrote one of the best hardcore matches I’ve seen in a while and makes the big man tap out to the dragon sleeper! Talk about making the world take notice…Everybody should mark for Toxxic…even little women, children, and pansies! HAIL! Dace Night vs ??? There are only a few things I want to say here starting with… OH MY FUCKING GOD IT’S DANNY WILLIAMS!!!!!!!! I marked out so hard and sat in front of my computer chanting “DAN-E!” like everybody else including Dace in his heart with shock on his face…you know he was marking out! Then Dace comes out and writes one of the greatest respect matches ever and takes out his former leader and gains all the respect in the world from Danny and everybody else after busting out that huge Sleeper Suplex to put Danny’s lights out. Favorite Spot: Danny William’s entrance. Mark Out City and the many trips to Puro-Land after he stepped in the ring. Favorite Line: “Someone needs to get a toe tag on Williams, cause his ass is dead!” Rating: ****1/4 – I give it this rating because the match was amazing and I was marking out the whole time at the return of Williams, even if it’s one night only. Charlie "Grappler" Matthews vs Va'aiga TWO CONSECUTIVE FALLS MATCH – WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MOTN and a MOTYC right here! The story was fucking awesome as Grappler comes off a lose earlier in the night and AVENGES HIMSELF BY TAPPING OUT THE MAORI BADASS! The two straight falls stipulation is something that just made my mouth water when I heard about it and Grap pulled it off with stunning beauty. Everything was clicking throughout the whole match and I can’t even continue to praise this thing as my head is about to explode… Favorite Spot: The Second Wake Up Call. The first put the Maori down…so the second one should too…RIGHT? WRONG!! Beautiful storytelling as you can’t keep Va’aiga down, no, no you can’t…no matter who wins! Favorite Line: “Your winner…..blah blah blah” – Nothing else can top that, though “pop the crowd like a friggin cherry” was quite the nice little touch to end a match on. Rating: ****3/4 WHAT. A. SHOW. Screw that double no-show…everything else more than made up for it and as Grappler says… LET THE OLD SCHOOL ERA BEGIN!
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 I'm glad you liked it; since I didn't know if I'd ever get to have another Tag Team match on PPV (or even another PPV match at all), I wanted W&D to do a spot that we'd never done before; It's a move that strikes me as being physically possible, and I wonder why I've never seen it done before. And yes, Todd should probably be declared legally dead... but, in true Messianic fashion, he shall likely rise in four days time... EDIT - I dubbed Dace "Horrorcore," and I have now dubbed Todd "the Messiah." I'm on a roll...

Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Now I never have to speak of it again. Huh, Why? Dont get me wronng Danny, it's just I've probably gone on enough about wanting to have that match, that's all. Oh o.k., I was a bit perplexed, since I got a "let us never speak of this match again" vibe from the post. By the way you did a great job with the post and pre match stuff, probably some of the best stuff you've ever written. The mid-portion of the match you wrote was well done too, though if I had to make a criticism it would be the use of the German Suplex pin, which brings the total up to 4. Not as bad as a Kurt Angle match since the German's get more effective as the match goes on during the final run, but it is a little out of place.
Dace59 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Sorry man, it's was ment to be, I've said all I could possibly want to, so now you people can say something on it. I know the middle German was a bit iffy, but I was looking for a decent move to have Dace collapse after trying to get the pin, and the collapsing bridge idea is the best I could find. But thanks anyway man.
