Just John Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I'm in favor of just leaving the teams the way they are. Cole and Tazz have really developed some good chemistry. Cole brings the generic pbp and emotion while Tazz brings the knowledge and jokes. I don't see Ross and Lawler going anywhere due to seniority. I liked the Ross/Heyman team, but I doubt they'll work togeher again since they don't like each other. WWE should be offering Mike Tenay a huge money deal or bringing up that new Todd guy who sounds like he actually knows what he's doing. I would love to see JR/Tazz and Tenay/Heyman announcing the shows.
Guest Fook Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I can see them going with JR and Tazz on Raw and a three man team of Cole, Lawler, and Coach on SD.
Kizzo Posted March 21, 2004 Author Report Posted March 21, 2004 I can see them going with JR and Tazz on Raw and a three man team of Cole, Lawler, and Coach on SD. That's the most likely scenario if PBP teams are in the draft.... 2 man team on RAW 3 man team on Smackdown
Mecha Mummy Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I can see them going with JR and Tazz on Raw and a three man team of Cole, Lawler, and Coach on SD. That SD team would be completely unholy. Cole has NOT improved to the point where he can deal with Lawler and Heel Coach at the same time. Cole, SNOW, and Lawler would end up better. And yeah, the problem with Josh is that he's can't get you into a match, but shit, he's been announcing for what, a year and a half now? That's why he should still be on b-shows working with better announcers than fuckin' BILL DEMOTT ("See, he hit that guy with the frog splash there. And that's the turning point.") so that he can learn and improve. Also, Tazz and Josh just make a funny b-show team. And as for JR, as cliche-spewing as he is, he's still good at calling big matches and might be good if working with someone who isn't Lawler or Coach.
Tawren Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 fuckin' BILL DEMOTT ("See, he hit that guy with the frog splash there. And that's the turning point.") That's nothing. Last night on Velocity, the turning point in London/Kidman vs Tajiri/Akio was Kidman tagging in London, and they even DREW AN ARROW pointing at their hands tagging. I hate DeMott.
King Cucaracha Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I doubt Coach'll get on an announce team. Who'd do Raw backstage interviews and get beaten up weekly? JR/Tazz and Lawler/Cole is the likely outcome...which may not be a good thing. Tazz and JR didn't have much chemistry during the Rumble match. And King/Cole...well, that just doesn't sound fun at all.
Tawren Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 And King/Cole...well, that just doesn't sound fun at all. I dunno...the song is alright.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 And that is my problem with him. Cole, when he focuses, is excellent at that, I feel. I can't speak for you, and I can't speak for anybody else, but Cole can't get me into a match with his voice. He doesn't convey emotion very well, especially when he uses the same voice with something like Jamie Knoble throwing Nidia into his match.
AndrewTS Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 fuckin' BILL DEMOTT ("See, he hit that guy with the frog splash there. And that's the turning point.") That's nothing. Like a really retarded version of the Brain Scan?
Silence Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I hate DeMott. It's bad enough that he calls Josh "junior" like he thinks he's Chris Jericho or implies how Paul London and Ultimo Dragon should adapt to the WWE style.
Toxxic Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Like a really retarded version of the Brain Scan? You have no idea how retarded. NO IDEA.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I like Demotts turning point, it makes Wrestling more of a sport when it gets analyzed like that. However, when his turning point was the opening tag to London, you've gotta question how much thought they're putting into it.

Ultra Violence Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I personally think they should throw Cole/Todd Grisham / Tazz on RAW and J.R/Teddy Long/Josh Matthews on Smackdown.... then after a year or so they can dump J.R and replace him with Josh Matthews and maybe dump Cole
JustJoe2k5 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were THE announce team for a while in late '98 and early '99 while Jim Ross was recovering, I thought they were pretty well together, but that was before Jerry Lawler's obsession with women. Jim Ross and Tazz worked really well together at Royal Rumble and I wouldn't mind them being together for RAW, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole for Smackdown, Josh Matthews and Al Snow for Velocity, and Bill DeMott and Jonathan Coachman for Heat. Put Rue on Bottom Line/Afterburn and Mark Lloyd as a backstage interviewer on Smackdown.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Why the fuck would you want Todd Grisham on the announce team? He's Chris Leary 2k4.
Ultra Violence Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Why the fuck would you want Todd Grisham on the announce team? He's Chris Leary 2k4. from what i've heard he isn't bad.....
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 He's another generic cracker announcer.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 If the new guy is the one doing RAW interviews, he stumbled over his words quite a few times in the 37 seconds he was on. J.R > Greater than all PBP men. But Lawler is complete suck and he drags Ross down to his level. J.R & Tazz would be a good combo. Tazz likes to piss the partner off, but making fun of Cole ISN'T that hard to imagine. Let Tazz take cheap shots at J.R. like heyman and GOLD!
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 JR is horrible. When he's not messing up move names he's messing up the wrestlers. He's just one big giant cliche.
Brett Favre Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 JR and Tazz on RAW, and Michael Cole and CHRIS JERICHO! on Smackdown! Think about it, what else does Jericho have left to do other than job, job, and job? I'd dig a Cole and Jericho announce team.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Chris Jericho at announce, right. And he's a real jobber, isn't he? Idiot.
Brett Favre Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Chris Jericho at announce, right. And he's a real jobber, isn't he? Idiot. What? He's jobbed to Steven Richards and Christian in the past few weeks. If he ever gets close to the top you know HHH is going to drag him back down. And Jericho is a damn good commentator, well, for the time he's been given.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Yes, just to develop his feud with Christian. He'll never be a jobber.
Brett Favre Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Yes, just to develop his feud with Christian. He'll never be a jobber. I never said he was going to be the next Brooklyn Brawler. You obviously didn't catch what I meant.
Lil' Bitch Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 He's another generic cracker announcer. but he's still better than JR
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I never said he was going to be the next Brooklyn Brawler. You obviously didn't catch what I meant. Obviously not. But you'd have to insinuating him being a jobber to contemplate putting him at Announce.
TheBigSwigg Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 WWE should be offering Mike Tenay a huge money deal Did I read this right? Is this for real or are you just kidding me? I'd rather listen to Cole's bs calls than hear Mike Tenay insulting all the heels to get himself over AND telling every single detail of a wrestler's career instead of calling a match.
