Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 By Wade Keller of pwtorch.com Paul Heyman will remain with WWE despite quitting on the air last night. The current plan is for him to return as an on-air manager, although the details of his role has yet to be determined. His return to the air could eventually lead to him taking a group of wrestlers away from WWE and forming ECW as part of a storyline, but our sources say that is not in the plans right now. It has been talked about, but isn't written into definite storylines at this point. As a manager, though, he may end up managing wrestlers with an ECW history to at least plant the seeds for a potential split-off down the line.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Good. A slow burn to the ECW angle is better than 'well, I got fired, so I'll rehire all my old workers for no apparent reason."
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Interesting. I wonder if he'd manage on RAW or Smackdown. So this really _was_ just a way to get Stephanie back on TV.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Good, this is how it should be done. Slow and easy, no need to rush things right now.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 It's a better way to do it...but sadly a faster way to get Steph back on TV

1234-5678 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Let him manage the old cocky heel RVD on Smackdown. Finally, Van Dam can flourish in a Triple H free environment! Wait, HHH got drafted to where? FUCK!
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Interesting. I wonder if he'd manage on RAW or Smackdown. I'm guessing Raw, since that's where he got drafted. He could manage a heel stable of... Tajiri, heel turned The Dudleys, Stevie Richards, and I wish I could say a heel turned RVD, but he's on Smackdown. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Could be interesting. A ECW group recking havoc on the WWE~!1 Wait.. Well, it could work the 2nd time around. Right?

Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Well i guess that instead of watching RVD getting buried on mondays, i'll watch him getting buried on thursdays. One more thing if Heyman is planning on creating a stable of former ECW wrestlers w/o RVD then i already know this shit isn't going to work out, can't have ECW w/o one of the most over guys to ever come out of that federation. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Heyman should have stayed on RAW and been the 3rd commentator and then quit after he couldn't take the abuse from Lawler and JR every week. That would have been awesome.

Guest Deebo Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I would say the WWE shouldn't really wait it out with this and take it slow. They are not likely to keep getting the ratings they got last week, so they need to capitalize on it.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Good, this is how it should be done. Slow and easy, no need to rush things right now. Hopefully it's so slow that it never happens. I would rather have no ECW than a watered down, half-assed, neutered version of it. If you think Vince will let Heyman have the control he needs to run his vision of ECW, you are all smoking fat rocks.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Why not let Vince take care of the immediate WWE and Paul Heyman WWE's () ECW branch. Oh, hang on... that might work... sorry.
