JoeDirt Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 --Rico and Jackie Gayda are headed to Smackdown (this will be announced, unless things change, by the end of the day). The WWE web site not about A-Train coming to Raw was also accurate as of this morning. I believe there is one more major roster change coming. --I'm told Stephanie McMahon won't be announced today as G.M. of Smackdown.
clean rob Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Thank God, so they aren't going to try and make Jackie wrestle anymore.
JoeDirt Posted March 23, 2004 Author Report Posted March 23, 2004 So A-Train for Rico and Jackie? Huge trade.
Guest MikeSC Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 So A-Train for Rico and Jackie? Huge trade. I don't hate A-Train. He's a decent power guy. Certainly not a great worker, but he does a decent enough job. He will fit in pretty well on RAW --- though I imagine we'll likely get MORE Train v Benoit matches BTW, where the heck IS Rodney Mack? -=Mike ...And why the heck is Hurricane still on RAW?
Michrome Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 I think it's a shame they're not trading Hurricane and Storm to SD, 2 guys that desperately need change.
Guest Goodear Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Rod got injured shortly after that backstage fight with The Hurricane.
justcoz Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Much like Superstar Billy Graham was twenty years ahead of his time, A-Train is twenty years past his time. This guy would have been a huge star in the 80's. I could see him and Hogan going at it on Saturday Night's Main Event. I think he's a good worker. He's a power guy but if you put him in there with the right people you get good matches out of him. He's just been another victim of a creative team who do nothing to get anyone over. They try to push him and he performs well (see Benoit feud) but creative does nothing to make anyone care. I think he has potential for a good babyface run also - something better than him dancing with Scotty Too Hotty. Pittsburgh's alternative to the FM radio dial: local music, bands coming to town and indie music not heard on Pittsburgh radio

Pittsburgh's alternative to the FM radio dial: local music, bands coming to town and indie music not heard on Pittsburgh radio I've said it before and I'll say it again. A-Train's one of the most underrated stars on the WWE roster. Remember the matches against Bradshaw? I don't remember Bradshaw working better with anyone. I'd love to see a match between A-Train and Benoit for the title. THey can top their No Mercy match. And somebody please convince me that Jericho's staying on Raw. I've waited too long for my heavyweight title match of Benoit vs Jericho!
cawthon777 Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Jericho's staying on Raw. No way they would split him from Trish and Christian right when this feud is starting up. I don't know if it's much proof but Fozzy is working shows in the same cities as the Raw brand in the coming weeks.
JoeDirt Posted March 23, 2004 Author Report Posted March 23, 2004 No Steph as G.M? Hmmm....who will be GM? He didn't say she wouldn't be GM...he just said she wouldn't be announced today. Damn that ambiguous Meltzer!
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Jericho's staying on Raw. No way they would split him from Trish and Christian right when this feud is starting up. I have yet to watch the tape from Raw last night and listen to the commentary, but they seemed very seperated this week (and last week as well), seemingly their issue resolved with Christian beating Jericho and getting Trish, leaving Jericho beaten and mad but with nothing he can do about it. I'm not saying a rematch is out of the question, or that this finish is even a good one, but I haven't seen much emphasis on the feud lately. Though I figured since last night Shane was going to be the new GM, I also can't think of any other reason for Long to be on SmackDown unless he's going to be the new GM. I mean, yes, he could manage some people, but who? Orlando Jordan? Or is he going to drop the racist thing and manage some whitey tag team like the Bashams? Actually, the latter sounds very reasonable.
haVoc Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 No Steph as G.M? Hmmm....who will be GM? He didn't say she wouldn't be GM...he just said she wouldn't be announced today. Damn that ambiguous Meltzer! But the new GM will be announced tonight. Posted on WWE.com: STATEMENT FROM MR. MCMAHON "Earlier tonight, Paul Heyman - the former General Manager of SmackDown! - was drafted by RAW and subsequently quit. Therefore, due to the absence of a GM on SmackDown!, I have extended the trading deadline to 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, at which time a new GM of SmackDown! will be announced, and that new GM of SmackDown! will in fact announce all trades. Thank you."

WWE would never do such a thing.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 He didn't say she wouldn't be GM...he just said she wouldn't be announced today. Damn that ambiguous Meltzer! Well in the heading it said "Suprise G.M." which suggest that Steph isn't going to be the G.M. for the moment.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 That means the "good McMahon" will be the new GM.
AndrewTS Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 That means the "good McMahon" will be the new GM. Linda can't be GM, since she's in some other position. *notices sarcastic quotes* Oh, Shane. Damnit.
BX Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Well, Vince could always become the manager of Smackdown. Thus we have Vince vs. Eric vs. Heyman. Just like 1998.
Youth N Asia Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 If Shane is GM Kane will have to jump to Smackdown to put him over every week
haVoc Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Is Linda the "good" McMahon? I know she has pissed me off in the past. Marissa isn't an on air talent and I doubt Triple H would allow the baby to steal his heat.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Even though this is EXTREMELY unlikely...I have to tell you guys about this weird dream I had. Don't remember all the details...but I was checking this site before leaving for work (since I work grave shift)...and it was announced that of all people, the new Smackdown GM was... "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Then I woke up.
Guest nikowwf Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 The show would need subtitles if Macho Man was the GM. I'm thinking maybe Teddy Long might get a short term gig, until they decide which McMahon will torture us again. niko
ChrisMWaters Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 The show would need subtitles if Macho Man was the GM. No, that would be if Dusty Rhodes became GM.

DrVenkman PhD Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Just to clear up the fact some people are debating if something wil lactually be announced on WWE.com tonight, right from a recently posted headline on WWE.com... Last night on RAW, Paul Heyman abruptly quit WWE after learning that he was picked to be on the RAW roster. Clearly, Heyman's departure leaves a gaping hole at the General Manager position for SmackDown! Tonight at 9 p.m. ET, right here on WWE.com, find out who will replace Paul Heyman as the General Manager of SmackDown! Also, learn of the trades - if any - the new General Manager has made with RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff
The Amazing Rando Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 New Smackdown GM - Dean Malenko. He might not be the greatest mic worker ever...but at least he would give the CW division some on-air push.
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Ok, so, after reading some thoughts and looking over the roster and anticipating posible surprises, this seems to be the list of eligable candidates: Shane McMahon, Paul Bearer, Dean Malenko, Linda McMahon, Dawn Marie, Teddy Long, Vince McMahon, Jonathan Coachman, Johnny Spade, Matt Ditilliano, Tazz, Michael Cole, Sable, Macho Man Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Triple H, Roddy Piper, Stephanie McMahon, or Steve Austin. Probably Shane or Teddy.
