Raw gets a 4.3 rating

Recommended Posts

By Dave Scherer

This week's edition of Raw did a 4.3 cable rating, with a 7 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is down from last week's 4.5 but is still above the show's recent average. The highest rated quarter hour of the show was the 4.8 that they did for the overrun. The show did hours of 4.1 and 4.5.

In other ratings news, the Raw replay from 3/28 did a 1.7 cable rating, with a 2 share.

Heat, which preceded it, did a 1.0 cable rating, with a 2 share.

The 3/27 edition of Velocity did a 0.8 cable rating, with a 1 share.

The 3/27 edition of Confidential did a 0.8 cable rating, with a 2 share.

HHH = RATINGS!

I agree.

Post Mania shows have been HHH-centric and more or less ignored the world champion, and ratings have gone up.

Haha, no.

The ratings are up because the storylines are interesting, not because of Triple-H or any other wrestler.

The storylines haven't been interesting. Well, for me anyway.

Still, BENOIT + BENJAMIN = RATINGS

The storylines are interesting?

Benoit as champ.

Benoit and HBK teaming against Evolution.

Benjamin making moves.

Yeah, I'm interested. Raw was a great show last night, and I was saying that before the last match too.

4.3 is a very good number considering it was coming off a very bleh draft lottery, and the normal ratins are usually around the 3.5 area.

Thank God Mole has other people here to do his reasoning for him.

Triple H has been working his sorry ass off from the night of WMXX, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to give him the props he deserves. Shelton's great, Benoit & HBK as a team rock, but to deny HHH isn't an important factor to consider when discussing the recent ratings jump is idioctic.

I think it's idiotic to assume he's responsible when his singles main events have been flopping in the ratings for over a year. Hell, his singles match with Eddy Guerrero, the hottest ratings guy the WWE has, LOST VIEWERS. Clearly there are other things influencing that pickup.

The Raw lottery was last week.

This is the first week boost of the usual two weeks.

Let's see what next week's ratings are, then the real test will be the weeks after that.

The major storyline is HHH vs everybody! :phaser:

I'd like you to point to where I said Triple H was soley responsible for the ratings jump.

Yes, Triple H-related main events over the past year haven't exactly set the world on fire, but not much has lately in the land of WWE.

Shelton got MUCH more response, just in the last half hour of RAW, then SuckBag has recieved at ANY time. THAT is called "Being OVER".

Now, they just need to give Shelton the big big push, and send the worthless Orton back to OVW...Shelton has shown more emotion, and charisma as well as light years ahead in ring work than Orton will EVER hope to achieve.

Shelton Benjamin IS the future

Did it really?

Because I thought it was interesting that last week, the overrun got a 4.7, only 0.2 above the average, and it had tied with two other quarter hours of the show.

Unfortunately, the NCAA Men's basketball championship is next Monday, so they'd better deliver something damned compelling to watch.

Shelton Benjamin & Hurricane with Mick Foley as manager vs Evolution for the tag team belts?

Yes, HHH vs. Guerrero lost viewers, which is almost unheard of, especially for such a "dream interpromotional match." I think it's a heavy indictment of the uselessness of the brand split, given that the first free interpromotional match given away did not do a blockbuster rating.

I think recently HHH has realised that in the future he will own the WWE and he wants there to still be a WWE to own, therefore he's started putting people over.

I really doubt angles = ratings. The only way you could possibly give the angles credit is if the ratings stay like this all the way to the PPV.

Well, didn't take long for this to become another anti-Orton and anti-HHH thread. Good job.

HHH deserves as much credit as Benjamin for the ratings rise...especially considering it was an impromptu (or at least booked halfway through) match.
