Steve Austin was not at Raw last night, as evidenced by him not appearing on the show, and was not written into the episode when the show was put together last week. There have been stories recently that he and Vince McMahon have been at odds lately and from what I am hearing, that is why he wasn’t there. It’s said to have the potential to be a serious situation. It could have something to do with Austin’s recent domestic situation. We are looking into that.

Yeh Austin was gone but most matches were still in the 3 minute mark. He might be annoying but him not being there hasnt done anything good either.

Chalk me up for being glad about this. While I'd hate for Austin to be left off of TV because of domestic issues and leaving on bad terms, I am just glad that he might not be on TV.

Stone Cold is not a character that should be in a power role, I hate it.

I still have a horrible feeling about Austin. I fear that his story will end on a very sour note.

I can't say I missed Austin. I always hate it when he makes his token appearance on the ATV to stun somebody. Plus, it is kind of sad that a guy who was once a big superstar in the WWE is now reduced to driving to the ring on an ATV. It's also kind of sad that a guy with two bad knees and a bad neck can still beat up most of the Raw roster.

and was not written into the episode when the show was put together last week.

It's nice to see that the shows are no longer on a cocktail napkin a few hours before the show. No wonder why the shows have improved.

If memory serves, Austin's appearance a week ago was just to put Shelton over and set up the main event.

... Making that the first time in years that he's put anyone new over in any way.

I won't miss Austin at all anymore. He can't wrestle these days, and I'm incredibly sick of him wandering in, stunning someone with potential, and wandering out.

I didn't even realize he was missing from the show.

Of course, I kinda tuned out when Benoit was in the first half hour of the show putting over a referee, but that's just me...

Wow, I didn't even notice it until I read about him not being on the show.

What i really don't get is why take him off when your in his home state? He'd be the biggest draw other than HBK and hell the crowd was chanting "we want austin" during the show a few times.

I wonder what the situation was. I can't believe Vince cares about Austin's domestic situation. Vince doesn't care if you're a baby-molesting terrorist, as long as you can make him money.

Could it be the Vince was pushing something too far and Austin was the one who balked?

Nevermind me, just speculating pointlessly.

Yeah, like Steve Austin would walk out on WWE at any time on his on.

I noticed the entire show. Austin's picture wasn't in the opening after Bischoff's. I wondered immediately if it was due to his domestic problems.

You haven't watched RAW in months because after SSeries when he lost his co-GM spot, they stopped doing that.

Part of me wishes Austin would just retire and stay away from WWE permanently. Ditto for Mick Foley.

Foley's earned his spot by training and putting people over.

And for the first time in DECADES he wears jeans and not sweat-pants.

Indeed, Austin not coming out and Stunning at least one lower/mid-card rookie, and following it up with a beer bash even more boring than the last has been great.

Yeah. All Foley has done since coming back is put people over. Some have even said he's putting Orton too over and tarnishing his legacy.

As for Austin, I hate his character now, but they don't need to lose anybody else. Can you imagine the next Raw...

Rock: Austin, Brock, and Goldberg can take their balls and go home. But for me :pause: this is home.

:Rock then leaves and takes another year off:

Foley seriously looks like he's lost a ton of weight. That's classy for a guy who could just get by on name value.

isn't he getting a tv show too? Don't think he just lost the weight for Orton...

"Dave Scherer reported tonight on pwinsider.com that Steve Austin's career with the WWE may be over.

Scherer reports that Austin and his attorney are in the midst of a contract renegotiation and that a meeting with Vince McMahon turned ugly on Friday when Austin's lawyer tried to play hardball and McMahon resisted.

Austin may not have picked the best time to make such a move because 1Wrestling sources have told us the company is irate at recent reports that he is accused of domestic violence against his live-in girlfriend Tess Broussard.

Austin did not appear on RAW last night, although the show was broadcast from his home state of Texas.

WWE.com has not made mention of the Austin situation."
