Guest MD2020 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 I think that is why. I don't know if the Cardinals ever needed that distinctions, considering they started in Chicago. Well, they did move to St. Louis in 1960. And they were around for 62 years by that time. I think they had brand recognition and didn't have to worry about confusion. Guest Smues Report post Posted September 25, 2004 The sports ticker at the bottom of the screen is advertising Hustle. That is not a score, nor is it sports news, so it shouldn't be there.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 10, 2004 I just turned ESPN on to find a Chippendale's act. There's just no justification for that.

Mik 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 I watched the first half... I had to turn it off. It was hard to watch. Did Pete Rose really manipulate people like that though? "Whose better than us?"
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 11, 2004 No, this was basically ESPN writing a hit piece on one of the guys they hate and disguising it as a movie. They also did this with Bob Knight.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 Did anyone actually watch Hustle? Okay fine, I did. But here's why! I bought that ESPN25 book (another piece of shit) so I could get the DVD of Sportscenter commercials (that didn't even have Follow Me To Freedom, or Come And Get Your Whoopin'), and I was worried that there was a tracking device implanted in the book, that would know if I watched Hustle or not, and if I didn't, it would explode, and kill me. Anyway it was a bad movie.

therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2004 My main beef: Constant fellatio of Michael Vick by ESPN. Also Salisbury's man-love of Steve McNair last year. Speaking of Salisbury, how can one be considered to be an expert on a position when he was always shitty at it?
Bored 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 I think this news kinda sucks. http://www.nypost.com/sports/31795.htm October 15, 2004 -- Mel Kiper Jr. is off ESPN's draft board, NYP TV Sports has learned. After a 22-year run as ESPN's NFL draft expert, Kiper is being let go by the network. "ESPN will not be renewing Mel Kiper's contract," Mark Shapiro, the network's executive vice president, confirmed. "He would not agree to extend the standard non-monetary contract provisions of his current deal.'' ESPN would not elaborate. Reached yesterday, Kiper, 44, was unaware of ESPN's final decision. "You are telling me something ESPN hasn't told me," said Kiper, whose last contract expired Oct. 1. "There was some language that we were not agreeable to. As far as I was concerned, negotiations were ongoing.'' Kiper agreed that money was not an issue. He acknowledged that the language of the contract was the problem, but wouldn't go into great detail. Pressed for an example, he did say he wanted to know a specific number of SportsCenters he would be required to do.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 His hair wanted more camera time, I guess. I'll throw in a reason, two actually: Dream Job airing at midnight (which is ESPN pretty much saying "We know you won't watch this." and that show I'll Do Anything, which looks like a shittier version of Fear Factor. Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 15, 2004 Classy of ESPN to tell the press before, you know, Mel Kiper Jr. about it. I guess they found some obnoxious guy to do the draft. -=Mike

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 Professional lawn mowing racing and Professional board game of Scramble! Hey man, Lawn mowing Racing is awesome compared to those team dance competitions they show. ESPN has went to hell since Disney/ABC took over the company. Now it's just really sad and pathetic. Sportscenter isn't even fun anymore.

the max 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 Wait, I forgot one: Making most of Bill Simmons' archive Insider exclusive. I want to be able to read his article where he debates which Rocky movie is the best anytime I want, DAMMIT! Yeah, I was pissed at this too. I'm sure that B-Simm wasn't too happy about it either, as he hates the fact that people have to pay to read articles.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 They're making it hard on people that actually want to sign up. I was told I needed a U.S. address because they throw in ESPN The Magazine, which they will only ship to U.S. addresses. No U.S. address, no Insider. Fools. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 I signed up for Insider for a year, more than a year ago. My account still works. I don't recall seeing an automatic renewal charge on my credit card, so if ESPN just goobed up and kept my account active, yay for me.
