Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Okay I am going to start this off and I guess both of them are going to get me to catch shit. The first...David Schimmer(sp?) Yeah, I know. But this guy catches shit because he happens to be on Friends. But seriously, watching this guy act, he has incredible comedic timing, is an impressive physical comedian, and is seriously underrated. The second. Topher Grace. Now he is going to play Eric Foreman in every comedic performance he has from this day on, i know that, but his timing and delievery are pretty damn impressive. Once again though, he doesn't get enough love for his comedic ability.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Maura Tierney. I don't watch ER, and I doubt she gets much chance to show it there, but she was fantastic on NewsRadio.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Bob Saget, not that he's the greatest or anything but too many people don't realize that he was totally castrated for Full House and Funniest Videos.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 I agree, Bob Saget isn't bad. David Allan Grier I usually find to be pretty funny.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 I'm not sure about his work in movies or other TV shows (outside of In Living Color), but I find Grier to be one of the best things on Crank Yankers. That show's largely hit or miss, but I personally think he's consistently one of the best on that.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 20, 2004 I'm not sure if this falls into the subject category but I say Jamie Foxx. The man has been stereotyped by most as some goofy run of the mill black actor. However unlike his former In Living Color cast member Foxx is able to actually play dramatic roles succesfully. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Which reminds me, I've barely seen him in anything, but Tommy Davidson is pretty good too.
Guest Dids Report post Posted April 20, 2004 On the Schwimmer note. Mat LeBlanc isn't nearly as bad as the writing on that show is. Oddly- it's Matthew Perry who's the worst male actor on the show. (and the writing post season two is so horrible it wastes their talent). I feel like I should be able to come up with a long list- but I'm tired right now- and I can't. Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 Matthew Perry is a oddity. He is just...charming I guess. Yeah, worst actor on the show though, male or female(although Cox is a better dramatic actor than comedic) Jamie Fox is funny when he can ad-lib and only then. He is a damn good dramatic actor though. David Allen Grier has always been hilarious to me in anything he does. Tommy Davidson is just not that good of a actor, although he is a funny standup comedian and a funny guy in general...just not that great of a comedic actor IMO. Bob Saget is the fucking man. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 I liked Tommy on In Living Color and hosting Premium Blend, but I don't think I've seen a non-ILC live acting performance that I've cared about. ... Wait. HAVE I seen Tommy Davidson doing a live acting performance that wasn't on In Living Color? Hm.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 Only live acting performance that wasn't on ILC I've seen Tommy Davidson in was Booty Call, which I liked. That's where I get it from. He was in Ace Ventura 2 for a minute... I can't really judge, I hate the movie in general.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 He had a show with Kadeem Hardison and a bunch of other guys about brothers or some crap that got canceled in about 10 shows. He was in Strictly Business with Halle Berry and that dude that played Denise's husband on the COsby Show.. He was also in Woo, that featured both Dave Chappelle and Tommy Davidson and managed to not make me laugh once....that is how bad that movie was.

What has happened to Foxx? I have a hard time remembering the last role I saw him in, and I thought he was ready to explode. I probably missed it --- but I thought the man was ready to be HUGE a few years back. Heck, he was pretty good in "Any Given Sunday" --- and I HATED that movie. Agree totally on Grier. I don't think he's a comedian --- he is one AWESOME comic actor, though. Top notch. -=Mike
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 I found myself laughing out loud while watching Tommy Davidson in those Pizza Hut P'Zone commercials. Just not when it was supposed to be funny. I guess I only laughed at the thought of him sobbing in his trailer when he realized that even one of the Fly Girls, let alone half of the actual cast, had a better post-ILC career. How about Kelly whats her face. Besides have a husband with a woman voice on Seindfield, she has done nothing...oh...and she was in Jerry Maguire...okay...that beats booty call and woo. And Jamie Fox will probably be getting a award for that movie he just did on FX...the one about the guy that started that gang... Damn...I am having real problems describing shit today. razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 The Ten Whole Yards was a very bad movie which had Matthew Perry make stupid "comedy" falls as if he was a 3rd rate Jim Carey.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 21, 2004 David Cross disgusts me almost as much as he amuses me. He's my pick.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 I'm about as big a David Cross fan as you'll find, but people usually either love him or don't know who he is. But that reminds me, Bob Odenkirk. He was totally overshadowed by Cross, but he is damn good.
the max 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 Bob Odenkirk. A great straight-comedy man.
