Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Charlize Theron & Christina Ricci - Monster Man, why do they have to say something about this just because it's two chicks? That's one of the worst kisses I've ever seen.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Just replace 50 First Dates for Kill Bill Vol.1 on the Best Picture category and we're all set. LOTR is likely to win here, though, so it really doesn't matter, but it would be nice if X2 won.
NYU 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 I think the fact that "Bringing Down the House" was nominated for not one award....not two awards.....but THREE awards.....is the most insulting part of these nominees. And, if I said it once, I'll say it again: Colin Farrell was screwed over by not getting a nomination for "Phone Booth." Such an underrated performance. Aero 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Best Movie Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl X2: X-Men United I wouldn't mind seeing any of these win, although we all know ROTK will likely take it. I pretty much enjoyed X2 and Pirates just about the same, and ROTK has that whole "epic" feel, so I wouldn't know which one to pick. Best Male Performance Johnny Depp - Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl I haven't seen 50 First Dates, Samurai, or Passion, so that leaves Lost and Pirates. I thought Lost was a tad overrated, but still really good. I just enjoyed Pirates more and liked Johnny Depp as Sparrow better. Best Female Performance Uma Thurman - Kill Bill Vol. 1 No doubt it was Uma. Even if the dialogue wasn't perfect in the movie, the action spoke alot louder than words. Best On-Screen Team Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson - Starsky & Hutch Depp & Bloom were good together, and Jack Black & the kids were pretty good, but I think Stiller & Wilson were hilarious together. Best Villian Kiefer Sutherland - Phone Booth It came down to Lui and Sutherland. I thought Lui was really good in her role, but I loved Phone Booth and Sutherland's performance. He had more villian traits, anyway, IMO. Best Comedic Performance Johnny Depp - Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl Jack Black - School of Rock This was tough for me. It came down to Depp and Black. I thought both of them were great in their roles, and I wouldn't mind seeing either of them win. Best Dance Sequence Seann William Scott - American Wedding Not a horrible dance sequence at all, and I haven't even seen any of the others, so this was an easy pick for me. Best Kiss Owen Wilson, Carmen Electra, and Amy Smart - Starsky & Hutch I don't even know what kiss it is from Bruce Almighty, so go with Starsky & Hutch. Best Action Sequence Battle at Gondor - Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Haven't seen any of the others. Best Fight Uma Thurman vs. Chiaki Kuriyama - Kill Bill Vol. 1 Easy pick. Kill Bill was all about the fights. For Rundown, though, maybe it was just me, but I thought the opening scene at the night club was better.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 22, 2004 They would choose Demi Freakin' Moore over Hugo Weaving for best villan?! At least he got nominated for best fight (With Reeves). They chose Leatherface over Freddy, Willard, and even Ben? I predict Sutherland takes the award.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 22, 2004 People actually care about the MTV awards?

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 And, if I said it once, I'll say it again: Colin Farrell was screwed over by not getting a nomination for "Phone Booth." Such an underrated performance. But not that good of a movie. I thought his performance was nothing special, but if it was, that brought it down.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Bringing Down the House gets a nomination for Best Fight, but Freddy vs. Jason doesn't? Demi Moore gets a nomination for Best Villain? How exactly are the nominees determined?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Bringing Down the House gets a nomination for Best Fight, but Freddy vs. Jason doesn't? Demi Moore gets a nomination for Best Villain? How exactly are the nominees determined? It's MTV so its whoever is willing to show up! The only thing you can count on is that Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey will show up every year. DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 I love how they don't even call the guy who played Leatherface by his real name. They could put his real name then Leatherface in parentheses next to it. Oh well, MTV is full of jackasses.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Where the fuck is Eternal Sunshine on this list? WHERE? I see it listed no fucking place. Then again... MTV is always going for there audience...and I doubt alot of their core audience would understand Eternal Sunshine and probably walk out midway through. Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2004 MTV gave Clint Howard a life time achievement award ... People you can't take this award show seriously. Are you trying to say something about Clint Howard? His acting skills are amazing. Plus, he's ultra sexy, but I guess you wouldn't understand that. And, yeah, what's with 04 movies being nominated? I honestly don't care who wins which award, especially since I haven't seen a good portion of the movies nominated. I don't know if I'll even watch it, at least the first 40 times. Slickster 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2004 No F vs. J nominations?!?!? The #1 movie for two weeks with the 2 biggest villains in horror? WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2004 As far as what year the movies came out in, it's probably not a January to December cut off date. They just pick some arbitrary date and look at movies from that window.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2004 The main thing I don't understand is that Bringing Down the House was out in time for last years awards. The awards are always done in June, BDtH came to theaters last April. There isn't a waiting period with a lot of these movie nominations. Just pretty strange, but it's not like they are real awards anyway.

spiny norman 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2004 What a stupid awards show. How can anyone defend 50 First Dates being in the top five films of the last year, or Halle Berry's performance in Gothika etc. And where is Big Fish???

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2004 Don't get me wrong, I like Adam Sandler. But MTV shows a little too much favortism towards him. And why are there more than zero Charlie's Angels nominations?

Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 23, 2004 Don't worry, on imdb.com it lists that Andrew ( Can't spell his last name and in a hurry so can't check.) got the nomination for best villan......... and played Lobo in a student film. Wow, maybe I should give him a break.
