Guest Cenaadvocate Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Favorite character: 1- Joey (his facial expressions and mannerisms are incredible) 2- pre-marriage Chandler 3- Rachel Favorite couple: Joey and Chandler: those two buddies are magic whenever they interact with each other. After they split up, the show was never as fun anymore. Favorite line: JOEY: Allright, I'm gonna ask you a bunch of questions but you have to clear your mind and answer them real quick. ROSS: OK. JOEY: Who would you rather be? a fireman or a swimmer? ROSS: a swimmer. JOEY: What kind of movies do you like? Action or Comedy? ROSS: Action. JOEY: Who would you rather sleep with? Monica(Ross's sister) or Rachel? (Ross looks shocked and disguisted) JOEY: What? ROSS: dude you are sick. JOEY: Oh, right. I forgot you had that whole Rachel thing. Favorite episode: It's the one where Joey tells Rachel: Only because Matt LeBlanc showed the "emotional" side of his character for the first time after 8 seasons. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 1, 2004 Friends is probably one of the lamest shows ever. Why? The characters suck, or are annoying beyond belief, and the storylines aren't in anyway original. Greatest my ass.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2004 Friends is probably one of the lamest shows ever. Why? The characters suck, or are annoying beyond belief, and the storylines aren't in anyway original. Greatest my ass. And that, of course, is why the show's been on for TEN YEARS. People have kept the show on for that long because they can't relate to the characters or the storylines, and are so annoyed that they refuse to change the channel. As for original storylines, name one other show where one of the characters has been divorced 3 times and has had a kid with 2 of those divorcees (one of whom is a lesbian). Or one where a character spends most of a show in a box. Or a woman who has her brother's kids. Fact is, Friends has been one of the more original sitcoms to come down the line in quite some time. Most sitcoms have 1 or 2 lead characters. I believe that Friends was the first with SIX. And they set the tone for most of the twentysomething ensemble comedies that came afterwards. So lamest? Hardly. Greatest? A matter of opinion.

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2004 Or one where a character spends most of a show in a box. I Love Lucy. Which is, by the way, the most popular show ever. If you want to say currently or whatever, argue amongst yourselves, I don't really care. But don't say ever. Greatest and most popular are two different things, don't forget. Precisely why I won't call it the "greatest" or "most popular" ever. Greatest is, again, a matter of opinion, and I kinda doubt it'll ever be as popular as shows like Lucy, or gain massive ratings like the finale of MASH. I should amend my statement. Spends most of a show in a box because he "stole" his roommate's girlfriend.
