MIDEON TALKS ABOUT TRAINING WITH THE UNDERTAKER TO RETURN TO WWE, NAKED MIDEON AND MORE

Dennis Knight on Between The Ropes Recap

by Richard Trionfo

This week on Between the Ropes, Fritz, Dickerman, and Vito welcomed Dennis Knight to talk about his career and his work at the No Name Wrestling Show in Kissimmee, Florida.

Dennis started off the interview talking about his match with Between the Ropes co-host, Vito DeNucci, and he said that he is ‘training hard’. Dennis was asked about the fact that he has lost weight since his last major run. He has lost about 70 pounds, and attributes it to bike riding and changing his eating habits.

Dennis said that after he left WWF, he didn’t do much for about two years. He was fortunate to have worked without any injuries. Dennis said that he is now working for himself. Dennis has been trained recently by the Undertaker, and has changed his wrestling style. Dennis has always been a fan of Dusty Rhodes, but after he started wrestling, he became a fan of Bobby Eaton and Arn Anderson, for being able to make his opponent look good. Dennis has been doing some ‘Ultimate Fighting’ work, and joked about Taker being like Tito Ortiz.

Discussion moved on to Dennis’ attempts to return to WWE, and hopes to be there soon. He talked about the current WWE product, and compared it to a sports team that lost a lot of veterans and had to bring in some young guys. Dennis talked about how things have changed since there are not as many territories, and there are some people who might be on television who should not be on at this time. He said it is like seeing a choreographed fight scene.

Talk moved on to Eugene, and the comparisons to Phineas Godwin. Dennis said that he liked seeing the ‘superhero’ characters, and was ashamed when he first saw Eugene. As long as Eugene is not portrayed as ‘too special’, he will like it.

Dennis was asked about whether people remember him more as a member of Taker’s Ministry or Naked Mideon, and said that he is remembered more for Naked Mideon, even though he only had two matches.

Dennis was asked about his match with Steve Madison at the recent Tampa house show, and felt that it was a good match. The match got a good reaction, but there were some people who felt that it took something from the show as the second match of the night. Dennis also talked about how he was involved in a run-in during Taker’s match, and it hurt a lot.

Dennis said that it is always on his mind that he would want to come back. He has been on the independent circuit for the last 18 months, and he has had to worry about not being paid for appearances. Dennis said that regardless of what people say about Vince McMahon, he never bounced a check. Dennis enjoys working for No Name Wrestling.

Mideon - 70 pounds = still sucks.

If this is a sports team that's lost a lot of it's veterans and is bringing up the young guys, why are we hiring an old guy?

Don't get me wrong, Mideon was entertaining on the mic. But I'm not convinced he's what the WWE needs right now.

They should make him a zombie! Think about it, when he has a match he can gnaw on people's foreheads and yell "BRAINS!" And he could feud with 'Taker or be Taker's bitch.

Or they could make him the lowest jobber on Smackdown. I mean, you don't get much lower than being Spike Dudley's jobber.

Uhmm...what about jobbing to Coach (Tajiri) or the King (Tazz) or David Arquette?

Hmm, you have a point there. Ok, you don't get much lower than jobbing to David Arquette. Although Mideon jobbing clean to Spike, week after week is pretty low.

Anyways, I don't think Mideon should really do much if he gets back in the WWE. Give him a solid midcard spot then banish him to the realm of B-shows. Or, like I said, make him 'Taker's bitch/zombie-servant.

Off-topic comment: Mentioning David Arquette made me remember WCW. Does anyone remember when DDP and Karl Malone teamed up to go against Dennis Rodman and I think, Hogan? Who won that match?

I know that Mideon isn't the best wrestler ever, but after reading his shoot interview recap here, I've got to say that he seems like a really cool guy. I'd root for a successful return.

i'm pretty sure DDP and Malone won that one.

it's like that time Leno tried to wrestle.

Oh that Crazy Russo /cue theme song

Am I missing something here? I'm pretty sure ALL of that was before Russo sans Arquette...

i wouldnt mind seeing him brought in as a jobber. alot of those guys would be good jobbers for young talent. give taker a stable of old men and have them be the new job squad

GREEEEEAT, now the Undertaker is starting to get his fuckhead friends hired. They should keep in mind that he was let go for a reason.......a good reason.......because he sucks.......

Meh. If he comes back in the same sort of role as Grandmaster has done, then it doesn't bother me.

Then again, the article only says ATTEMPTS to return, so this could all just be misleading speculation and stuff. And by could I mean probably is.

Too bad the WWE can't figure out how wonderful that turned out for them.

I have no problem with Mideon coming back. He was somewhat entertaining. It's not like he'll be a main eventer. He's basically just a depth guy. He'll serve a specific role somewhere in the midcard, and that will be the end of it. I'd much rather have Pushed Wrestler Y squash a Mideon instead of wasting some young guy who might have a tad bit of potential doing something bigger and better than being a job guy.

Rodman and Hogan won vs. DDP and Malone, but they lost against DDP and Jay Leno not too long after Hogan lost the World title to Goldberg.

The guy in the middle obviously. Actually, the guy at the right looks like a fatter Bruce Pritchard.

It was funny after the match seeing Malone flip out and diamondcut the ref.

If there was anytime Mideon should have returned, it was at Wrestlemania XX.

Not now.
