Guest slacklet Report post Posted April 29, 2004 http://www.impactwrestling.com/content.aspx?snum=1564 Kurt Angle To Undergo Third Neck Surgery; Will Return Kurt Angle announced during a radio appearance today with WWE diva Dawn Marie in Toronto on The Fan 590 that he will indeed need a third neck surgery. Angle did not reveal many details, however, he did say that the surgery is scheduled for next month and he hopes to return to the ring in time for SummerSlam this August. Angle, who has had a bad history of neck problems since winning a Gold Medal in wrestling at the 1996 Olympic Games, has been out of the ring since his loss to Eddie Guerrero at WrestleMania XX back in March. WWE has of course kept Angle active by making him the SmackDown! GM. Hopefully much more will be known after his interview that he is taping today with TSN "Off The Record". Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I think it's pretty clear that Angle shouldn't wrestle anymore. He's never going to stop wrestling. If he ends up in a wheelchair (god forbid), he'll probably come back every 2 months and still wrestle in PPVs.

As long as he doesn't do the HBK "rise from the wheelchair" spot, I could be ok with that. But if he does it, it's got to be like Smackdown: HCTP, HBK dance and all

Somehow that recovery time doesn't add up to anything reasonable again, does it?
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 And when I saw the topic, I was going to make a damn joke about him getting back by SummerSlam. I wish he'd just give it up.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 SD is going to be hurting bad now. GM Angle sucks and they needed In Ring Angle badly. SD has nothing to look forward to except Eddie and hopefully Cena won't bottom out. Otherwise, SD looks to be a way far inferior show. Angle should retire. Play with his little girl or something. This company is not worth a wheelchair.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Cena is just the same repetitious bullshit week in week out. His creativity does not go outside 'dick jokes', and his main method of gaining a face pop is by mentioning the local sports team etc. I'd overlook it if he was, you know, somewhat interesting in the ring. But he isn't, so I won't. SD! has Eddie. That's it. UYI - The only guy who watches for Taker
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 So much for the Jho surgery. Although it may have not worked because of how bad Kurt's neck was in the first place or because of simply how much strain is put on it. I'm sure it would be great for him if he'd just quit wrestling after he got it, though. So, the main option would be spinal fusion, which would mean no more matches for him until 2005. Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 For his own sake, his should get the thing fused and retire. I imagine a few years of upper midcard-main event wrestling has given him enough cash to live comfortabley. Or, you put credibility back into RAW's announcing team by making Angle the color commentator and firing the pervert known as Jerry Lawler

Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I thought a third surgery meant a final retirement. And I don't care if it's his first neck surgery, nobody should just return in 4 months.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Angle isn't really that funny. It was the situations he was in that made him funny once with austin. He wrote the horrible cena angle...so thats his idea of humor...No thanks. Just retire for good but if it is to be one more...make it mean something. KURT ANGLE VS HBK. Another match with Benoit or Eddy isn't worth it...It can ONLY be shawn.

Kurt as GM sucks, I don't think he would be so great as color commentator (can't be much worse than King, though). Kurt's funny when he's the BUTT of the jokes, not when he's telling any. So the color commentator should know which wrestling move is which? In WWE, thats like asking Michael Cole not to suck.

In WWE, thats like asking Michael Cole not to suck Or asking JR not to invoke football stories when a hoss is in a match Seriously though, I hope Kurt retires. It would be really depressing if he tried to rush back and ended up in a wheelchair because of it.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I thought a third surgery meant a final retirement. And I don't care if it's his first neck surgery, nobody should just return in 4 months. I believe it's: 2 spinal fusions = retirement. Not sure what the 1st one was, but the second was the Jho procedure. If he really wanted, he could get the spinal fusion now, and then come back & wrestle when he's healed.

His second was in November 2003, but it was relatively minor.

buffybeast 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Why doesn't Angle go to Youngblood in Texas to have his neck fixed? Is he afraid to take one year + off from wrestling like the others?
Guest duck420 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 send jericho to smackdown so he and eddy can tear the house down. someone tell angle WE DONT WANT TO ACTUALLY SEE HIM DIE IN THE RING. god angle is my favorite wrestler of all time but he just needs to know when to not push it
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 He needs to swallow his pride and retire, take backstage job if offered or even an on-screen non-wrestling role. I don't want to see Angle wrestle again, even HBK/Angle, if he's risking his life and livelihood for it. The guy has to think of his family.
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Why doesn't Angle go to Youngblood in Texas to have his neck fixed? Is he afraid to take one year + off from wrestling like the others? Angle needs like two seperate fusion, like C-4 and 5 and the 7 and 8. Or something like that. Which means he's going to be done.
