FORMER MLW OWNER COURT BAUER AND TEDDY HART ANNOUNCE FORMATION OF H2WRESTLING; PROMOTION TO DEBUT IN JUNE

Former Major League Wrestling owner Court Bauer and Teddy Hart will be announcing the formation of a new wrestling promotion H2Wrestling later today via a press release. The promotion will debut on Saturday 6/26 at the Roxy in Boston, MA.

 

Slated to work on the first H2Wrestling event are the SAT, The Havana Pitbulls, The Stampede Bulldogs, Hart and Jillian Love, a Canadian valet who has been accompanying Hart in recent independent appearances. With the exception of Love, all worked for Bauer's MLW, which shut down operations in February. I expect more names who worked MLW to pop up, as I know at least two who were approached in the last few days.

 

Hart and Bauer will both serve as "Executive Producers" of the company. Hart has long discussed opening a company in the Northeast.

I hope it works out and all because I am definitely not opposed to seeing any of the guys on their roster (except for the SAT who I could definitely do with out). It is just that this "new" promotion is still MLW only with Teddy's name attached. Court Bauer has failed twice already. No reason to believe he won't fail again.

 

It is interesting though. Will this wole promotion just be one big showcase for Teddy? Is Teddy financially backing the company?

I've just been surfing their site, and I'm intrigued to see they are apparently affiliated with Toryumon. It'll be interesting to see what stars they decide to use.

If you look in the Backstage area, Afa the Wild Samoan has a column for some random reason and Samu has a column where he says he's a road agent.

 

Gotta wonder why they're involved, but it sounds interesting.

This will bomb. They most likely will have to retreat back to FLA becuase it will be hard to launch a new indy in the NE, with RoH's fans as overprotective as they are. (I'm a fan, but not THAT much of a fan.) Plus Court has proven he knows jack shit about how to keep a company afloat. The only chance I could see of them working, is if they do go to FLA and pick up MLW's old TV slot.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick up the Sunshine link again, whether or not they stay in the NE or not.

Bauer tries to do way too much at once. I'm sure this will be no different, and the thing will bomb. But hey, if it works out, more power to them.

"Welcome to my first column for H2Wrestling.com's Backstage section with the first All Access Report! Let me first state that it's great to be back writing about what I love the most - professional wrestling.

 

The question on everyone's mind is obviously "what is H2 Pro-Wrestling all about?"

 

Simply put: H2 is an experience. With H2, once you're in the building you're never quite sure when the show starts, as we guarantee you it isn't when the bell rings for the first match. H2 has told its crew to not hold back and exercise its right to freedom of expression and aggression as H2 is all about who will be the next big player and who is the king of the hill. There's no censorship or time honored wrestling code being forced on this rowdy bunch, folks.

 

Have you ever watched a movie that totally enthralled you the second it started? Has it been too long since a wrestling match broke the barriers of how the game was played and had you emotionally attached to each strike or move? Well, I can assure you it is H2's goal to fill these voids for fans and deliver it with great quality in a different way... the H2 way.

 

As you'll read in the Learn H2 section of the site, H2 isn't about one simple element that makes wrestling great, such as athleticism or respect... it's about a collective unpredictable experience - the H2 Experience.

 

H2 is where you're going to see some of tomorrow and today's most talented wrestlers and personalities like "The Bulldog" Harry Smith & TJ Wilson, Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero, Jill Love, Ted Hart, and more showcased. H2 is where you will see gravity defying skills on display. H2 is where you will have your passion for wrestling relit with a most colorful and charismatic roster.

 

All of this is what attracted me to the company. H2 isn't your ordinary wrestling outing. H2 is something rare. H2 isn't trying to take over the world. H2 is about what other wrestling shows out there don't possess in some way or form. H2 has a level of electricity that I've seen with the crew involved both in the locker room and in the office that Ted Hart & Court Bauer assembled the likes of which I haven't encountered in my career up to this point. This is what made H2 a must for me and I hope you will also find it to be the same when you discover H2 for the very first time on June 26 in Boston, MA at the Roxy as it's our goal to give you something special and different at an affordable price.

I really want this fed to work out, anything with Teddy will be at least interesting but with Court attached to it.... I'm having my doubts if this will actually work.

If Bauer keeps money sucking, non drawing performers out of the promotion, such as Sabu, Sandman, Funk, etc., it could be succesful. It all depends on if he goes overboard with the bookings or not, at least in my mind.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out what H2 meant for awhile now. Can't seem to find it on the site either.

I'm guessing this will be like something different in the independent wrestling world, possibly more storyline and sports entertainment based while still providing great wrestling action. If the storylines are good and they continue the trend of only bringing in young talented wrestlers, this could possibly work out. I'm already interested in seeing their first show and they haven't even released a card yet.

I actually signed up for the street team, since their first show is running about 10 miles from where I live, should be an experience.

 

Other than NECW, which is a decent-at-best fed, and ROH running once every three months, Mass. is a desert when it comes to indy wrestling, so I'm really excited about a new, potentially regular top-tier fed in the area.

Toryumon and H2 are officially linked now. Toryumon star Taiji Ishimori has joined the roster of H2.

Also, there will be an open "draft" starting tomorrow, which I guess will indicate which talent they will sign/want to sign.

 

If it's the latter, it could be a good negotiating tool. If they say "we draft Chris Hero" (for example) it means "Chris Hero if you take our booking we'll push the hell out of you" , further enticing the talent to take the booking. However, if the guy doesn't sign after being "drafed" there could be a fan backlash.

 

If it's the former, well it's a nice attention-getting way of saying "We signed Wrestler X"

Rules:

 

-Wild Card Rules apply. Anyone at any box office status level can be drafted at any point in time based on their ability to come to terms with H2 management on a deal.

-There is no ranking system to the draft. Those who broker their deal to compete in H2 promptly will be privy to perks including (but not limited to): bonuses, higher match status on initial H2 cards, main event opportunities, or other. Those who opt to extend negotiations for a longer period of time will not be offered the same perks and will have to seize the moment at H2 shows to move up in their status.

-The draft is a year round open draft.

-The draft is open to wrestlers with world-class grappling skills.

-If injuries occur, new H2 wrestles can be drafted.

-Trading among managers, promoters, agents, or other in H2 can occur.

-Agents, promoters, managers, and others can represent their clients for the draft.

 

I'm am very interested to see how this will work, and can't wait until H-2 releases more of their signed talent.

I've been sitting here for a minute trying to think of a way to say this without sounding like a bragging egotistical bastard and/or liar, and still haven't figured it out. Oh well. Here goes.

 

This deal is for real. I know because I was there sitting right next to Ted when it was first started. (And he was talking to Court on my cell phone. In fact, he used my phone that whole damn week. Maybe I should've copied down a couple of the numbers...) But basically, the simple concept they both want is for Ted and Court to run a wrestling show together where guys can have fun and actually get paid, which seems to be getting more and more rare on the indy circuit these days.

Well, the problem is that it was several months ago and they weren't hammering out many details, so I'm really mostly as in the dark as everyone else. But yeah, I'd say they'll probably be running shows elsewhere.

I have to say that this H2 Wrestling promotion is pretty interesting. I have to agree that they look to know what they are doing, especially by the talent that they are bringing in. I for one think that thus promotion could work especially if Court realises where MLW Went wrong and can learn from his mistakes.

 

Whilst they are bringing all of this talent in, I’m beginning to think CM Punk wont be brought in, Mainly down to the two having heat with one another! Even if Punk did make it in to H2, I get the impression that he would get buried. Also I can’t see Steve Corino, even appearing in this show, Let alone being the company’s champion.
