Guest glennsoe Report post Posted May 11, 2004 Credit; 1wrestling.com Here are some of the highlights from the Cat: - He has gotten back into Karate since departing from WWE. - He has never come across any other wrestlers who are skilled in Karate. - He wasn't initially sure how he would be used in WWE. - Vince McMahon asked him to stop doing Karate moves and cut back on his talking. Miller felt those were the two things he was best at. Instead, McMahon just wanted him to dance. - Contrary to reports, McMahon wasn't behind him. - He said his character was over in WCW, so he can't figure out why WWE would want to change it. - He repeatedly mentioned that Vince Mahon has surrounded himself with ass-kissers who laugh at every one of his jokes. - He feels that if WWE can get "over" John Cena, they should be able to get "over" anyone. - Jim Ross probably said two words to him the entire time he worked for WWE. He also mentioned that JR walks around backstage like every day is a bad day. He wishes he would have slapped JR across the face. - He felt he did everything that was asked of him in WWE, but the writers just couldn't come up with anything for him. He said the writers would be better at writing for gay magazines. - He mentioned that the WWE (more specifically Johnny Ace) came after him to get him to work for the company. He didn't call up WWE. - He said he wasn't paid much. - He feels McMahon is more interested in entertaining himself rather than entertaining the fans. - He feels Smackdown isn't as good as Raw because it is taped. - He admitted that he doesn't watch WWE programming now, and didn't when he worked for the company. - He felt WCW wrestlers aren't given the same opportunities as home-grown talent. - When asked about NWA/TNA, he said they understand the business more than WWE. He said he has friends in TNA and talks with them often. You can listen to the interview at: http://www.voiceofwrestling.com/?p=archives&t=shows&id=51 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the signs of a bitter old man that can be described as a "Has been", but some of the things he says are true.... Guest Hot Ticket Report post Posted May 11, 2004 He has never come across any other wrestlers who are skilled in Karate.except for RVD, Im shocked. No karate fighters in WRESTLING? Vince McMahon asked him to stop doing Karate moves and cut back on his talking. Miller felt those were the two things he was best at. Instead, McMahon just wanted him to dance. Its WRESTLING not Karate Miller Contrary to reports, McMahon wasn't behind him. Shame He said his character was over in WCW, so he can't figure out why WWE would want to change it. Because Heymans a better authority possibly??? - He repeatedly mentioned that Vince Mahon has surrounded himself with ass-kissers who laugh at every one of his jokes. Either they no how to play the game or maybe they just find his jokes funny...do you know funny Miller...has it come to visit you yet? He feels that if WWE can get "over" John Cena, they should be able to get "over" anyone. Cena's character took off more than WWE intended...you get YOURSELF over Jim Ross probably said two words to him the entire time he worked for WWE. He also mentioned that JR walks around backstage like every day is a bad day. He wishes he would have slapped JR across the face. Bitter He felt he did everything that was asked of him in WWE, but the writers just couldn't come up with anything for him. He said the writers would be better at writing for gay magazines wow how ignorant He mentioned that the WWE (more specifically Johnny Ace) came after him to get him to work for the company. He didn't call up WWE. Strike 1 for johnny He said he wasn't paid much. Well did u think u were worth much? He feels McMahon is more interested in entertaining himself rather than entertaining the fans. Well shelton/hhh, hhh/shawn/benoit, eddy winning the belt, etc. entertain me too He feels Smackdown isn't as good as Raw because it is taped. reason #567 He admitted that he doesn't watch WWE programming now, and didn't when he worked for the company. And u expect a fair shake? He felt WCW wrestlers aren't given the same opportunities as home-grown talent. well you cant blame him for not knowing about Eddy and Benoit, he doesnt watch When asked about NWA/TNA, he said they understand the business more than WWE. He said he has friends in TNA and talks with them often. One makes money, other doesn't. One has good tv slots, other doesn't.

Or does that not count because he isn't a wrestler. In Tae Kwon Do. I think Rudo said that's basically like "having a black belt in ballet."
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2004 To all of you bashing Miller, saying the guy can't get over, did you see Miller during Russo's time in WCW? He was fucking hilarious, and worth the effort they put into him thanks to all the backstage segments they had with the guy. To Hot Ticket, let's not forget that if you stuck to the "it's wrestling" mindset, wrestling wouldn't excel past technical since high flying moves aren't actual "wrestling" if Miller's style isn't. Who says wrestlin is just technical wrestlin? Wrestlin has all those styles under one name. Karate isnt wrestling. karate is martial arts. ive seen plenty of times where martial arts and wrestlin DONT mix. The attempt at mixed martial arts works good when they fight each other but MMA vs. pro usually ends up with conflicting styles.

Miller blows in the ring, but the karate at least gives him a different style. When he's in there kicking, punching, and dancing, he's nothing more than a bad wrestler who dances. At least the karate set him apart from the rest.

You do realize that Ricky Steamboat and Bad News Brown had a fair share of success incorporating martial arts into his moveset, right? Of course, Ernest Miller had exactly one singles match at a SmackDown taping, and it was edited out of the show because it sucked ass. But martial arts workers can get over in WWE. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 12, 2004 for once, the hype is real when "Former WWE Wrestler A bashes WWE" comes true. Miller = hilarious. He may be a shitty wrestler, but he's funny. Of course he's not really telling us anything we don't already know. (Vince entertains himself instead of fans? No Shit. Yes men in WWE? Duh. WCW talent get no pushes? Silly me for forgetting)
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted May 12, 2004 To all of you bashing Miller, saying the guy can't get over, did you see Miller during Russo's time in WCW? Yes, which only CONVINCES me completely that he can't get over. He was fucking hilarious, and worth the effort they put into him thanks to all the backstage segments they had with the guy. He had ONE funny backstage segment --- and that was when he was fighting the Jung Dragons and they were always given away by the music. Other than those --- non-stop suck from start to finish. To Hot Ticket, let's not forget that if you stuck to the "it's wrestling" mindset, wrestling wouldn't excel past technical since high flying moves aren't actual "wrestling" if Miller's style isn't. I had to recap WCW shows at the time and Miller would not do a SINGLE MOVE IN HIS MATCH. Not one. I mean, not even a body slam. Not even a clothesline. for once, the hype is real when "Former WWE Wrestler A bashes WWE" comes true. Miller = hilarious. He may be a shitty wrestler, but he's funny. Of course he's not really telling us anything we don't already know. (Vince entertains himself instead of fans? No Shit. Yes men in WWE? Duh. WCW talent get no pushes? You do realize that Ricky Steamboat and Bad News Brown had a fair share of success incorporating martial arts into his moveset, right? Of course, Ernest Miller had exactly one singles match at a SmackDown taping, and it was edited out of the show because it sucked ass. But martial arts workers can get over in WWE JHawk, those were guys who added in a little martial arts into a wrestling match. Miller threw WEAK looking kicks and punches and NOTHING else. Tajiri and Low Ki he ain't. I felt bad for Storm having to SELL for him. -=Mike
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 12, 2004 Diamond Dallas Page Kanyon Booker T Sean O'Haire Chuck Palumbo Lance Storm Hugh Morrus Mark Jindrak Buff Bagwell Scott Steiner Goldberg Billy Kidman Jamie Knoble Shane/Hurricane Helms How many of these guys got pushed correctly, or pushed at all? goldberg was pushed, but WWE made him mortal. Booker T gets a push now and then to put over people. Bagwell was fired in a week. DDP was made a joke. Steiner was exposed for sucking thanks to HHH (thank you HHH). Everyone else listed or people I forgot were just shoved into shitty gimmicks, or thrown out on TV for the hell of it. Using Chris Benoit as the sole example is stupid. Guest Hot Ticket Report post Posted May 12, 2004 Diamond Dallas Page This one I feel is valid Kanyon Another valid one Booker T til he gets back to old form I wouldnt push him either. He has also said MANY times that he wants to retire Sean O'Haire Hes any diff. than Batista/Mordechai/Tomko/Brock/etc.? Chuck Palumbo How far exactly should tey push him? Lance Storm storm needs too much to get him over. in WCW it was okay because they didnt have much good elsewhere. storm would be best at midcard/upper midcard and a lot of work to get someone to only there doesnt seem like a good investment Hugh Morrus why should he be pushed? Mark Jindrak the fact that he got mentioned in lottery, was one of the first wcw guys, and has a manager is more than needed for him. he looks good but he's borin Buff Bagwell push him why? He was way way way out of his league and his ego is massively out of control Scott Steiner He killed his own push. He got a lot of hype for a new debut. It doesnt help that his body is broken down. Goldberg goldberg has an ego with spotty drawng ability, i believe he got pushed as far as he would let himself Billy Kidman he needs rey by his side to be interesting. I do admit they could use him better. Jamie Knoble not pushin Knoble is a shame Shane/Hurricane Helms he is erratic. One time he'll put on a good match and a good promo, another time he will be a huge waste of screen time and he'll blow spots. he also has started fights in the back.
