Guest MikeSC Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...cx_tr_uc/latest OK, will SOMEBODY do something about this handjob gone awry? -=Mike
C Dubya 04 Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Yeah, this guy's really not witty, funny, creative or from what I can tell intelligent. He just tries to be as much of an asshole as possible to get attention.
Ripper Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Okay, WHAT? He took a story, exaggerated it and made a Cartoon. Isn't that what EVERY political Cartoon does? What is so HORRIBLE about this one. And how can Mike be so sensitive and such a shoot first ask questions later guy?
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 It's lame and all but I think a person who suggests nuking a country is a bit more of a fucking retard.
C Dubya 04 Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 True, but this guy's comic just sucks. They put it in the local city paper here and it has never once been funny. I hate when people are just trying to get negative publicity.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Meh. It's avg rating is 3.1 That sounds about right to me. Totally average political cartoon. How this is at all newsworthy is beyond me.
Zorin Industries Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 The last panel made me smile, but that was all
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Appropriate title/poster combination.
snuffbox Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 For purposes or summary: Good and proper - Bombing a country for the purpose of "killing em all" Horrible terrible - Using a media vehicle, the political cartoon, to voice displeasure at a nation's military shortcomings Good - Genocide Bad - Questioning leadership
Guest Dids Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 For purposes or summary: Good and proper - Bombing a country for the purpose of "killing em all" Horrible terrible - Using a media vehicle, the political cartoon, to voice displeasure at a nation's military shortcomings Good - Genocide Bad - Questioning leadership I've participated in several message board discussions with Rall, and I totally agree with his politics. It's just that when he tries to make his point he goes for sensationalism and outrage. He's a smart guy who makes dumb comics. He's also an asshole who can't take a joke and sued somebody because of it.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 There was a British comic that had Tony Blair on GWB's leash. It was two birds with one stone. I can't find the comic. Any Brit folks could lend a hand here. I mention it because I'm sure it would offend many on this board as well, if the one in this thread did.
Jingus Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Rall comes off kinda like a lot of guys I know; the ones who simply have no idea what the words "restraint" or "subtlety" mean.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Here's another one that most will find stupid...or funny
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 It's not meant to be taken OH SO SERIOUS~! but I think that most people in CE wouldn't like it anyway, or they'd think it's dead-on. No one really has a sense of humour. I wonder if the people in GC are as conservative as most of the people in the CE folder.
Guest Dids Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 My only beef is that they used the photoshopped upside down book picture. There's so much that actually wrong with Bush, why use made- up stuff?

He apparently has an issue with a comic strip but offers brilliant strategies such as 'bomb em all' for foreign relations affairs.
