Daaamn. What happened to football games where you just played..uh..football? Now I've got a crib and everything.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

About to start a season. Pray for me.

Hmm, a question, is there a way you can edit the looks of a player? Mainly in franchise? Because I know it's not like you see them MUCH with their helmets off..but still some of the guys, the braids, 'cornrows' for instance...just irk me for some reason, they look kind of crap. And I want to change it for some..especially for people who have short hair in their pics. (Clifton Collins)...plus there's an option edit rookies?..I'm guessing it would have something to do with that..

Wow, this game offers a LOT for someone (like me) who doesn't know jack about football.

2k3 was a lot less complicated, but this game is obviously, much, much more superior in every single way.

I'm playing Carolina

All three of my HB's have arm injuries.

I'm like, running two fullbacks in my backfield.

Muhammed is out.

Then one of my guys gets food poisoning.

I can't believe this shit...

At least you'll have the first pick of the draft.

This was actually the problem that killed the Dallas Cowboys in the late 90's, too much money being owed to players who weren't around anymore.

This problem also hurt the San Francisco 49ers in the late 90s, and still does today.

I'm just concentrating on defense at this point. Work on getting punts to the < 10 yard line and make them punt it back, and get a fieldgoal or something.

I get the feeling I gave them too many windsprints... but come on, they all broke their ARMS. So I don't get it...

A rookie as a captain..? (or whatever they're considered)

Does anyone else have a rookie, that like walks out during the coin toss? I do for away games...at home it would be Brady and Branch, but for some reason away games it's Brady, and Burton.

UPDATE: Ricky Proehl broke his leg too, and I'm off my rocker.

So far, Three of my Halfbacks and three of my wide receivers are injured, and two of them are top three.

My passing game's shot and my running game is non-existant.

I'm thinking of starting over, but I don't know how to prevent these injuries, they're BROKEN BONES!!!

You really need to adjust your workouts for the week cause you are well overworking your team.

And no, the type of workout does not determine what kind of injury they may suffer.

You are working your WRs and RBs way too hard which is causing you major problems.

They're only doing one thing every day.

Pussies.

Obviously you're right though. But otherwise I just don't seem to get the results I need.

I just wish the kind of injury they got was based upon what I was doing to them. I could see someone getting concussed if they were doing full pads scrimmages, or tearing a calf muscle after too many workouts.

But I seriously did 3 reps/drills for each focus position each day, thats it.

Never even once did I do a full-pad drill.

That's the problem. You need them to do a full padded scrimage at least once during the week. It's to help get them ready for the "real" thing with the hits and stuff. That's why you need that in your routine.

3 reps= three sets of weight lifting

And then you drilled them after that???

No wonder your guys are falling down with injuries all over the field. You are freaking killing them.

You need some scrimmages, no pads to partial pads if you are going to drill and weight lift during the same day.

My suggestion is run either one to two team drills and one full scrimmage for each team (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at different days during the week. Just one for each will be fine.

Also, give your guys some time just watching films or give them a 1/2 day off. The 1/2 day off should only be used if your team is beat up...and your team is beat up. Give them like a 1/2 day on Tuesday to recharge, just run some drills that day and send them home to rest.

If morale and focus are low, your guys seem to get careless in practice and start having injuires.

Obviously injuries are unavoidable but with the number you have going, it seems like a clear cut case of overwork.

Or of course you could avoid the situation entirely and turn injuries off.

My problem is that I think that I don;t have enough players on my roster and the preseason is over.. I believe that I am at or under the cap.

Bet that as it may, I am still learning thge sytem and I need as few complications as possible.

But having injuries will make you learn the system, pretty darn quickly.

You ain't kidding.

I lost the entire left side of my D-Line, you want to talk about having to learn in a hurry.

Not to mention losing Carmen Policy, the fight for ownership, Young retiring, T.O. bitching, and firing Mariucci for fucking DENNIS ERICKSON.

I feel for the 49ers, I've got an appreciation for them. They don't deserve to have their image tainted as bad as they do.

Except for the 1998 Wildcard game. Fuck y'all for that.

I wasn't doing both in the same day.

At the most, one non-pads scrimmage, and one 3 sets of any given thing, be it weights, windsprints, or I dunno, coverage drills. Not weights AND positions.

Either way, boo-urns.

I started over and promptly lost to GB taking it easy on my guys. Bastards...

Actually Carolina was one of only 3 games in the entire schedule that gave me a hard time on my way to my undefeated season and sweep of the playoffs. The other two were Chicago at the end of the season (which was pretty cool considering they hyped up 16-0 before the game and how this was a huge rivalry and all...But Chicago was ranked #32 in the Power Rankings and I #1, yet the game was tied 15-15 going into the 4th quarter), and New England in the Super Bowl (who intercepted Favre 4 times but couldn't keep him from throwing deep to Javon Walker or keeping Ahman away from the endzone).

Those were 3 fantastic games I had, and they all meant something in the grand scheme of things. I wish there was something you could REALLY practice your ability in the game with, similar to minicamps on Madden.

That still hurts, too.

Can't deny that, at all.

The Packers had that loss coming for a while.

On a note related to ESPN NFL 2K5:

Why do most of the rookies not have pictures in this game?

As the Ravens, I've lost Ray Lewis for the season, but I'm still 11-1 (on Pro, All-Pro is in store next season). I've had approx. 4 tough games. The season opener (my first game vs. Cle, a 13-7 win), a nail-biter in the rain vs. the Eagles, where I lost 13-10 for my only defeat so far. A 27-14 closer than it looks victory over the Jets, and a great 21-14 win over the Patriots where I stopped them on the 5 as time expired. I've got plenty of cap-room in the future, so I'm feeling good about continued success.

Just about all the rookies I've seen have pictures...but I'm only on my second year, so maybe you're further into the years...but one thing I notied, is that some guys actually have the same picture...I know that one dude with the huge unibrow, is on my team, as Herman? Terry...I think, and on another team as like Andre Dean.

I think he's referring to REAL rookies, not ones that the game made up...most of them don't have pics, for example, JP Losman on the Bills doesn't have a pic...

A lot of them weren't signed to the NFLPA before the game came out.

I don't think any of the rookies have pictures (real rookies).

Crap, I lost Pennington for 6 weeks with a torn bicep. Does that rehabilitation thing-a-magig work to speed up recoveries all the time?
