Guest Ronixis Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Not getting this game. I am waiting for Rumble Roses. The fact that DVJ 2 had nearly 60 fighters (thats the ones you have when you finish story mode) and this had 41 and not the ones on TV kills it. Granted, I bought HCTP and Liked it alot, but compared to the Japanese Wresling Games (KoC) SvR has a LONG way to go. Rumble Roses is being watched over by Konami, a MUCH better producer of games than THQ. Yukes will not make the same mistakes they did with SvR with Rumble Roses. Yukes have been making The Smackdown game on the same engine for YEARS. They should by now have it down like it was 2+2=4. Nope. Still the same problems. And yet when I compare both Rumble and SvR, Rumble looks like KoC more than SvR, which at this time should beat KoC but doesnt in this game. Makes NO sense... If WWE really gave a damn, they would leave THQ for there OWN good- when the new TV contracts start, they have to also do new Video Game Contracts. If push comes to shove, then EA will be with WWE and Aki will do the games again. How come people still play No Mercy after 6+ years!? Because it did everything that worked in the Japanese version and used many aspets of the old WWF. Period.
El Psycho Diablo 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 KOCII's CAW also beats the snot out of any of SD!'s CAW, too. It also allows you to store a hundred created wrestlers, or 25 with four appearances each. It's got templates for a whole horde of wrestlers that aren't in the game, parts for almost anyone you can think of, more..and better animated moves than an SD game.. Not to mention the tons of match options alone..and actual different arenas, not just ones for shows or PPV. That's a truly well-made game, and it shows. Considering it's only Spike's second 3D wrestling game..

Robert 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Damn, story mode is way too easy. I took the belt on my first try with Taker and with Michaels it took me till Badd Blood to get it. With HBK, my matches were competitive, and I lost about 10 matches. With Taker, I just dominate all the matches with a chair, kinda cheap but I haven't lost a single match since. But I have been able to buy the following legends: Andre The Giant Mankind The Rock Bret Hart The LOD Overall it's a good game, but the story mode wears off easy, but the gameplay is good. Parking Lot Brawl is nifty little match but I was there was weapons in it besides the cars. Overall, I'll give it a 9.5/10. Here's my Current Survivor Series Card WWE Title Match (Smackdown) JBL vs Booker T Smackdown! Classic Survivor Series Match (6 Man) Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas, Mark Jindrak) vs Team Eddie (Eddie Guererro, RVD, John Cena) WWE Parking Lot Brawl Title Match Kane vs Rowdy Piper Smackdown! Classic SS Match 2 Heyman's Extermination Squad (Rene Dupree, The Dudley Boys) vs The Dead Men (The Undertaker, The LOD) RAW Classic Survivor Series Match The Cripplers (Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Bret Hart) vs The Edgecutioners (Edge, Christian, Chris Jericho) RAW Classic Survivor Series Match 2 Orton's Army (Randy Orton, The Rock, Mankind) vs Evolution (Ric Flair, Triple H, Batista)

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 I would be embarassed as a man to have anyone see me playing Rumble Roses. In many ways...I have to agree with this one. Yea, it's a 'wrestling game' but hell, seems like it's worse then DOA Beach Volleyball, when it comes to the whole 'next level of perversion' thing. Sure, it has some wrestling moves in it, but I have to say I'm pretty sure that won't make it a better wrestling game.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 If the gameplay is solid, I'd think about buying it.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Awesome. I won't spoil it, but I'll just confirm that you don't necassarily have to be stuck to one show, like many were thinking. (Well, I'm pretty sure)

Guest Sohaib Falaajul Report post Posted November 5, 2004 I started my career as Shelton Benjamin, and I haven't played much, but I did do the Royal Rumble...100 stars! The new elimination bar makes gameplay MUCH more realistic. You get your opponent on the apron, and then either hit him or grapple with them until their elimination bar reaces its end, if you get tossed you press any button repeatedly to keep from being eliminated
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 When I was in the 15 man Royal Rumble at Survivor Series, competing for Stacy Keibler, Undertaker gorilla pressed me over the top rope to the floor. I still had a lot of meter left, too. How the hell do you do that?

I still had a lot of meter left, too. How the hell do you do that? I had a similar deal where I was eliminating people left and right, went to grapple Matt Hardy before he quick grappled me and threw me over the top in the blink of an eye. I had a full bar. I'd also like to know what the answer to this is If anyone could help us out, it'd be appreciated. Maybe it's something only the CPU can do.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 considring all the firing done by wwe this week, this game will soon be reduced to the ex wwe roster plus some guys still on
JN News 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 You know, it really suck that I can't play Bret Hart, or any other legend in the season mode. I was really looking forward to having Bret Hart beat JBL's worthless ass. EDIT:for the WWE Title, that is.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Ummm...build up money and create the WWE title. >_> Lol, kidding , I probaly wouldn't have used any of them in season anywyas, but I could see how some would be mad. But I guess the only consolation would be...at least he's in this one.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 I've heard Bret Hart's moveset is just HBK's copied over. This true at all?
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Well, if it was, good thing is, you can change it. But to answer your question..I don't think it is. (Only played as him once so far) and he has a few move animations of his own, so I do know for sure it's not a carbon copy, but they may have a few of the same moves. But then again, they do in real life. But once again, I don't think so. (Not 100% sure) but what I do know is that he has some moves of his own, so they aren't exactly the same. Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 They obviously game Bret some of HBK's moves on purpose, it's pretty clear to me that is the case. It's not the entire moveset, but every now and then you'll see him become HBK, heh.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 I don't see how the graphics are improved over HCTP. Vince looks more like a retarded rat in SD vs Raw; in HCTP he looked spot on. Benoit's model looks better in HCTP; as does HBK and HHH.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Just my opinion...but to say that the HCTP HHH looked better then anything...is crazy. :/ Hell, I thought the SD1 HHH looked better then that one. I still say the best is the SYM HHH, with the SDvsRAW one right behind it. Only problem with the current one, is they overexaggerated his abs. (Of which he doesn't have)
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 I thought he looked like Lex Luger in HCTP.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Yeah, I guess HHH looks pretty realistic, but Benoit and Vince look goofy as hell in SD vs Raw.

It's not the entire moveset, but every now and then you'll see him become HBK, heh. One of the serious flaws I found with Bret is that one of his top rope moves is the moonsault, yet, he's missing the second rope elbow. I'll have to edit that, although they have it from the top rope, which is fine. Other than that, he seems perfect to me. I noticed that the Sharpshooter now affects the legs more than the back. Was it like that in HCTP?

Was it like that in HCTP? He has an upper ground move, which is one of his own animations, that's a forearm elbow type thing. Maybe that's supposed to represent that one? Becacuse it kind of looks like it could be a second rope elbow. I think it's left and circle. And, I think the Sharpshooter has always effected the legs more, I could be wrong though
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted November 6, 2004 So Is it too early for any good CAWs to be surfacing on the net? I'm looking for indy ones specifically, but all that I can find are Jeff Hardy and Eugene ones. Not to mention I'm becoming half-way retarded trying to decipher what the people on gameFAQs and IGN's boards are posting...
JN News 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Is there any info where I can create a CAW version of Bret Hart for the season mode? Your help would be appreciated.

Haven't seen one yet, but I'll keep an eye out for one. And sort of off-topic, but I found a great Austin Aries CAW that someone made. If you want it, PM me or just say so.
