According to GameFAQs, the big reward for finishing all the challenges is An alternate attire for The Rock. While I think most people knew that beating all the challenges unlocked an alternate attire for a Legend, I did not know that they also are what you need to beat for Heat and Velocity (all Amatuer), as well as unlocking alternate attire for Angle and HBK (GM suit and shirt and jeans - Rising Star) and suits for Evolution plus an alternate for Orton (Superstar)

 

Don't know if the above is even a "spoiler", but just in case...

 

Anyone know how to do a Lionsault-type move? The only thing I know how to do in the SmackDown series is leap over the rope, I don't know how to do rebound moves off of them into the ring.

Its the same way...just the person has to be in the ring. Just run to the ropes while standing close to them, and then hit X and he should flip.

Not getting this game. I am waiting for Rumble Roses.

 

The fact that DVJ 2 had nearly 60 fighters (thats the ones you have when you finish story mode) and this had 41 and not the ones on TV kills it. Granted, I bought HCTP and Liked it alot, but compared to the Japanese Wresling Games (KoC) SvR has a LONG way to go.

 

Rumble Roses is being watched over by Konami, a MUCH better producer of games than THQ. Yukes will not make the same mistakes they did with SvR with Rumble Roses. Yukes have been making The Smackdown game on the same engine for YEARS. They should by now have it down like it was 2+2=4. Nope. Still the same problems. And yet when I compare both Rumble and SvR, Rumble looks like KoC more than SvR, which at this time should beat KoC but doesnt in this game. Makes NO sense...

What info do you have on Rumble Roses?

 

I've been interested in picking it up every since I head about it, but I'm concerned about the gameplay and the relatively low number of playable characters. Does it also have a CAW mode?

Vyce, it doesn't look like a CAW mode is in the Rumble Roses game.

They obviously game Bret some of HBK's moves on purpose, it's pretty clear to me that is the case. It's not the entire moveset, but every now and then you'll see him become HBK, heh.

One of the serious flaws I found with Bret is that one of his top rope moves is the moonsault.........

Bret's moonsault was SWANK. Don't knock it, with or without the 2nd Rope Elbow

I just unlocked the WM XX arena, and they definitely perfected it. They have the titantron with the WM logo in the crowd, and while fighting in the aisle, I noticed that they made every floor seat be one of the WM XX chairs. The stage itself is the floor screen, flashing the WM XX logo.

 

I had a nearly 30 minute match on Legend difficulty between Bret Hart (me) and HBK. It's nearly impossible to make someone submit on Legend. Way too much tapping involved. The AI seems stupider than HCTP. HBK hit me with Sweet Chin Music more than two times when I was just about in all red, and rather than pin me, he goes outside and grabs a chair. Match ended when I reversed SCM and school boyed him for the pin.

That's a good thing...Otherwise you'd have70% of idiots just running around with a chair trying to hit you for most of the match, and running around the ring and stuff like that.

I beat all the challenges. Besides the Rock outfit, you also get something like 10,000 points to use for a CAW and the legend movesets unlocked.

Hosses still rule in this game, though. Even though he didn't get quite as much offense in, my Batista completely devastated somebody's Shelton Benjamin online, despite him powerbombing me plenty of times. He barely put a nick on Pimpmaster B, though.

 

A friend of mine apparently faced a Japanese gamer who made a minotaur CAW. They actually let you make a Mantaur head. Can't believe it. I have the pic on my HD if anyone's interested; just got no server to u/l to.

 

Collision still is a bit too floaty at times--ie RVD's spinning heel kick, and so on.

 

Apparently you can no longer stop a taunt partway through. This let me Irish Whip an opponent into the corner, super backdrop, and ***** Frog Splash for the win.

 

I'll probably extend my rental now that I found my spare memory card. May face some peeps online around 8 PM EST if anyone wants to play a couple matches. I'll be using AndrewTS for my sign in name.

 

I'm not bothering with CAWs yet. I've started season as regular Show because I just wanna use Bret right now. Torrie is still a gignormous whore. I see she's forgiven Show for trying to kill her, though.

I'd have to agree with that. I was in a ladder match with Mysterio, and won because he decided to dive off the ladder at me (in the ring), but missed and ended up knocking himself silly outside the ring.

 

My initial opinion is that HCTP is a better game, but that may change over time. Anyways, anyone know how to lift an opponent up so that I'm facing their back?

If its the same as the old smackdown games I believe you just hit O twice while their on the floor.

No, that pulls them up into a sitting position.

 

You can't anymore (At least like was done on HCTP), but instead, you have to pick them up...so that they are facing you then run to them and hit right and O. That does the little duckunder where you get behind them, and they will be groggy. (They don't even have to be down, but you said how to pick them up and do it)

I'm sure you can online game with DSL. I don't think there's any reason AOL wouldn't permit you to do it, though. You may want to ask around a bit to be absolutely certain, because I don't want to steer you wrong.

Although yes, it is a not-very-glorified upgrade of HCTP, but the variations make it interesting. I just ran through the game with my namesake CAW, which looks more like me than the incarnation in HCTP, which is a plus... Though they took out a major portion of the wardrobe in CAW mode, it is much more streamlined. When I design my Killian CAW, he should be much closer to the vision of him that I have.

 

Speaking of that, anyone find a Low-Ki CAW yet?

 

The game play is faster, but I still can chain moves together like nobody's business, especially now that I am close to maxing out my character. I like the fact that each of the weight classes have their strengths and weaknesses, and they come into play during a match. Quite frankly, a lot of these upgrades should have been in HCTP, and this game should be something else entirely. But we shall see how the next WWE game works out at this time in '05, eh?

I'm not thrilled with this game.

 

Even with some faults, I still enjoyed HCTP because it was a big improvement over SYM.

 

SVR isn't even updated. It's like the same thing, but more complex. I knew we were in for trouble when I played the awful Day of Reckoning, but this is insanely bad. I had no desire to play with the same glitches and ugly animations over again, because they could have been improved with the time they had to do it.

 

Not an awful game, but frustrating because it could have been better. I won't purchase this one for the first time since Smackdown 2.

 

I couldn't even create a passing Smaffles, which pissed me off most. I had to put a bag over his head.

Just finished first season as Shelton Benjamin. Won the IC title early on and the rumble which got me into a world title match on raw against randy orton and I won. I then beat taker (wwe champ) at wm in a 3 stages of hell title unification match to end the season. started a 2nd season and now shelt is feuding with kane and I beat him at backlash in an ultimate submission match.

it sucks that you have to buy your created belt, but

 

I made a pretty cool Internet Champion Belt (and gave it to Benoit of course he is the net god-though I had HHH beat him for it just for a goof)

 

 

I like this game, just wish it had more wrestlers on it, got to start making caws

 

 

and why is Pipers and snukas music not the real one? they have brets and beefcakes (awesome) I guess liscensing issues, but I thought they owned all these songs (maybe ones not made by johnston cant be used? is jimmy hart suing wwe for his songs or somethin?)
