LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Suggestions: - 8 team playoff...it's easy for people to give up as it is, if there's a chance of getting a playoff spot people will stick with it until they're eliminated. Don't want the 6-6 teams to just give up. Maybe even a 10 team playoff? - Make passing TDs worth 4 points. As it is, QBs are way better than anyone else. If you take the current league rules and use them for 2004, 8 QBs are ahead of the best RB. One of the QBs is Jake Plummer. That's fucked. Peyton had a 160 more points than Shaun Alexander. That's also fucked. - Under the current rules, Peyton Manning outscored the highest scoring WR (Muhsin Muhammad) by 200 points. On top of nerfing QB TDs, we should probably make receptions worth 1 point per. Manning is a pretty freak occurance. But when Jake Plummer is better than any WR or RB, something is wrong. I was also looking at adding receptions at a point each. Should completions be added to this mix, too? How about turnovers? (INT/Fumble lost) Should they stay at -2? Or should I drop them down a bit? Any suggestions on a suitable draft date? The current date is temporary and will likely be changed, unless you guys want to keep it as such?

Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 Any day is fine, but it has to be later than 3:00 PST if it's Friday - way too early for the west coast crowd, especially on a weekday.

That is a bit too early for those of us on the west coast. I couldn't find a time past 3:00, because the day I had taken there, all the times after 3 PM were gone. I'll see if I can find a different time later.

I don't think we should add completions, since they would just negate the extra points RBs and WRs get from completions. 1 point per reception should balance things out across QB/WR/RB, which is ideal. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2005 I'm in now. If you can find a better draft time, cool. If not, I either have to pre rank like a motherfucker and not be there live. Not sure if the draft room will get past my work's firewall.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Couple of things: I'm considering cutting the starting RBs from 2 to 1, since the league has gotten bigger. Any thoughts on this? What about yards per point? Any suggestions for this? Also, I have been browsing through the draft dates/times here in the last few minutes, and have been unable to find a better date/time, as there are no good times left at the moment. Every weekend date/time are unavailable. Plus, I can't find any good times on August 19th, either. There are no evening times available, either.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Couple of things: I'm considering cutting the starting RBs from 2 to 1, since the league has gotten bigger. Any thoughts on this? We did 2 RBs in the 20 team league a few years ago. I picked 20th and still did ok. As long as we don't have > 16 teams, I think we're good. Even at 16, every team should be able to get two decent RBs. Just make sure we have enough bench space to stash a sleepers/backups, that's pretty important in larger leagues. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Agreed that if we stay at 16, 2 RB's is good. Anything over 16 teams and the 1 RB idea should be implemented.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 It'll be left alone for now then. I've also pushed back the draft time by three hours, as more times/dates have opened up.

Guest Rrrsh Report post Posted August 13, 2005 Draft Time is Perfect. I know most Fantasy Leagues have 1 starting QB and 2 starting RB, but those leagues have 10 or 12 teams. When we get as high as 16, which is exactly half the amountofi teams in the NFL, I think that the RB and QB spots should be the same.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2005 If you are going for the just like NFL standard than the whole point system should be TDs = 6, Safties = 2, FGs = 3 no matter the distance. With high penalites/rewards for turnovers.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 The prob with being just like the NFL is that QBs are far more valuable than anyone else. I like the idea of having the top QBs/WRs/RBs all scoring around the same amount of points, which requires some scoring tweaks. Speaking of which, can we get that 1 point per reception rule added? Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Speaking of which, can we get that 1 point per reception rule added? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, we can.. I would've added it earlier today, but I was gone all day. Sorry about that.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Scoring tweaks should be high penalties for INTs, Fumbles, and all turnovers in general not to water down the offense by down grading the TD stat. If you are worried about QBs being god-like then make their yardage stat 100 yards for 1 point and add negative sack penalty. And to make the RBs even with the WRs have the yards gained on different weight systems. QBs 100 yards passing = 1 point WR = 30 yards reception = 1 point RB = 50 yards reception = 1 point RB = 30 yards rushing = 1 point INTs = -3 Fumble = -3 Sack = -
