Agent_Bond34 Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Is there any objection to the draft date? It can be moved, if needed and if possible (due to availability)
LaParkaMarka Posted August 19, 2005 Author Report Posted August 19, 2005 I wouldn't mind if it was like an hour earlier. But I can still make it if it's not.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Im anxiously awaiting it, even though I know Im going to screw my team up 6 ways from Sunday.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Draft Owens in the 1st round? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â I will just come out and say it.. Â Im the worst Fantasy Sports Player on TSM that keeps coming back for more losing year after year. Â It was amazing that I won a bowl game in Bored's Pickem contest last year, but that isn't really the same as fantasy football/baseball/basketball. Â I really enjoy playing fantasy sports but I clearly don't have enough patience for it (Im usually always at the top of the league in # of waivers/trades).
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Flashback to last years draft: Â QB M. Hasselbeck (Sea - QB) WR A. Boldin (Ari - WR) WR I. Bruce (StL - WR) RB J. Lewis (Bal - RB) RB T. Wheatley (Oak - RB) TE I. Mili (Sea - TE) WR/TE A. Davis (Cle - WR) K M. Vanderjagt (Ind - K) DEF Carolina (Car - DEF) BN R. Gardner (Was - WR) BN I. Hilliard (NYG - WR) BN K. Boller (Bal - QB) Â Granted, this was a month earlier (July 20th) and it was an auction draft, but still..that just plain stunk. Â Boldin got hurt, Hasselbeck didn't live up to his OMG HE'S GONNA EXPLODE THIS YEAR hype, Issac Bruce = OLD, Jamal missed 4 games for the suspension, Wheatley didn't do anything in Turner's offense, Mili wasn't even the #1 TE in Seattle, Carolina's defense wasn't as good as it was the year prior, Vanderjagt even had an off year..etc..
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Picking #7..middle of the order..bleh..
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 So..um..I think I did better than last year..but..uh..we'll see.. Â We need to compare the projected totals for everyone, which is a new feature..it even projects Rookie totals
LaParkaMarka Posted August 20, 2005 Author Report Posted August 20, 2005 Looking at the other teams, Bond looks pretty solid. Alpha Males turned out surprisingly well considered it was autodrafted. Â What did you guys think? Best pick/worst pick?
Guest Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Best value pick was Vick in the 4th. Worst pick was JJ Arrington in the 3rd. I don't know why, but I did not like that one at all.
Fökai Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Sorry for the auto-draft, guys. I had to fill in for someone at work and I missed everything.
Guest Rrrsh Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 I think I look tremendous   In all serious, they guy who is fucked the most is the guy who picked Randy Moss. I forget who he is, but he didnt take a RB till the 4th. Thats asking for it....

Fökai Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 If anyone needs players for a second TSM league, I'm in. I want at least two teams to manage for the season.  EDIT: If you're reading this and are interested too, leave a message so we can drum up owners.
jimmy no nose Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 I think the team I drafted turned out pretty solid. I have two of the top 12 QBs from last year in terms of fantasy points. I have 3 good starting receivers and 3 backups who at least 1 of should turn out pretty good. If Marcel Shipp manages to beat out JJ Arrington in Arizona then I'm looking good everywhere.

I was speaking of Preseason Holdout.
Cuban Linx Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Yeah, i'm the guy who didn't take any Running Backs until the 4th and 6th rounds with Carnell Williams & Michael Bennett. I'm hoping the Peyton Manning/Reggie Wayne duo connect for enough TD's to make up for it, though considering how late i took them Cadillac/Bennett/Ricky Williams/Thomas Jones isn't too bad, but i definately pushed my luck and it could just as easily be a disaster as a success. Here's hoping Benson keeps holding out for Chicago and gives Jones the starting job. Â I probably should have taken Chad Johnson over Torry Holt and not dicked around and waited until everyone was gone until i picked my 3rd WR (and considering 2/3 of my WR's have the same bye week i'll be screwed then), but overall i don't think i did too bad. QB is strong of course with Manning and a good backup in Carr, Holt/Wayne/Price is a solid WR crop and potentially very good if Price actually performs, though i doubt it and i have zero depth, TE is set with Witten, New England gives me an top Defence, RB will hopefully be good enough though i lack an elite player, things could be worse.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 I kind of like my team, and I kind of hate it.  Positives:  I've got 2 nice RBs. Jamal is a solid #1 back and Lamont Jordan will hopefully bust out as a starter in Oakland as signs in the preseason are indicating.  I've got 3 good WR. Driver/Boldin/Patten.  I managed to salvage a decent TE in Franks  Negatives  I've currently got no depth at RB. Im guessing drafting Benson was a mistake..if he doesn't sign soon Im in trouble.  Alex Smith is my backup/Bye Week QB. Hopefully he won't be held out of starting too long.  ???  No real proven depth at WR. Braylon Edwards and Mark Clayton..could be big..could be big busts. For the sake of the Ravens, I hope Clayton turns out to be a good WR..but I have my doubts about that. Edwards will probably have more impact halfway into the season, which may or may not help me much.  Vick isn't really that great of a fantasy QB under the scoring rules for the league. Hopefully he might throw for a few more TDs, but..who knows.
jimmy no nose Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I had Willie Parker on the bench in 2 leagues today including this one. I wonder how many more starts he'll get after today.
Boon Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Thanks Daunte Culpepper- single handedly ruined my week.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Im more than likely going to win my first game, but it was more luck of the draw than anything. Â And its bad when my high scorer was the Tampa's defense although I'll take it.
