Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 21, 2004 Yesterday I attended Ozzfest 2004 and as I sat there in the lawn looking at the silent unimpressed crowd wait for Superjoint Ritual to finish there set, i could see no one really wanted to see them...I got to thinking "how could I improve this show"and thought of nifty dream concert tours. Anyone have any concert tours/collabs you would love to see together that you either missed once or has never toured in the first place. I would love for someone to organize a COMPLETE Monsters of Metal tour consisting of the likes of Black Sabbath-AC/DC-Iron Maiden-Slayer-Motorhead-Metallica and two other stages , one for the "lesser" known metal (Lamb of God, Slipknot, God Forbid, Shadows Fall) and another for the "new" breed of metal. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 Is superjoint ritual on the mainstage? If so, that could easily explain why the masses were "unimpressed" Not that Superjoint Ritual is the greast band around or anything.
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 I'll limit myself to 3 band tours.... Slayer/Lamb of God/Darkest Hour Iron Maiden/Slayer/Entombed Nile/Cryptopsy/Krisiun Bleeding Through/Darkest Hour/Heaven Shall Burn Slayer/Lamb of God/SYL
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 Not to mention Phil is an asshole. He literally got boo'd off the stage at Ozzfest until he dedicated a song to the guys in Iraq.

Yes they were on the Main Stage along with BLS, Slayer, Dimmu, Judas and Sabbath.
Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 21, 2004 I made a quasi fun MONSTER OF METAL TOUR for kicks...It's a three stage tour basically I split it into Main GODS of Metal main stage, a more mainstreamline stage and another stage. This is merely one of those fantasy deals. Just for kicks. Any suggestions on who needs to be added and who should be off and who should be moved to another stage? I know i left off like some good hardcore acts but i was going for more of a "known" approach. (they aren't in order but I would simply rotate the orders for the stages) MAIN STAGE Black Sabbath AC/DC Metallica Iron Maiden Slayer Motorhead Stage Two Disturbed Slipknot Korn Marilyn Manson Black Label Soceity Lamb of God God Forbid Cradle of Filth Shadows Fall Killswitch Engage Stage Three HateBreed Fear Factory Life of Agony God Forbid Lacuna Coil Soulfly Chimaira Ill Nino Bleeding Through Darkest Hour

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Man I love that Games Without Frontiers song by Peter Gabriel. Jeux sans frontiers! Anyways here's my list: I don't know what to call it this one, um Best Of Both Worlds AC/DC Van Halen (AC/DC and Van Halen would each do 90 minute sets) Ted Nugent (The perfect opening act) Ummm, the KISS and makeup tour KISS Alice Cooper Twisted Sister AquaNet and Rogaine present Glamfest Stage One: Motley Crue The Scorpions Tesla Skid Row Stage Two Quiet Riot Warrant Dokken Ratt LA Guns Jackyl Stage Three: Slaughter Faster Pussycat Enuff Z Nuff Pretty Boy Floyd Firehouse Kix ^Ladies and gentlemen that's a lineup of god right there. Now let me explain myself. I've always wanted to go one of those hair band concerts where they do a random assortment of them. With this concert the people would get almost ALL of THEM! Muhahahahahahaha. Speaking of desired tours, one of my least desired tours has actually came to fruitation. Yanni and Michael Bolton. *Shudders*

converge241 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 im with tangerine i always wanted ozzy to do one ozzfest with just bands like that there were rumors ac/dc was going to headline one year while ozzy took a break from performing (but would still appear)
Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Here is what I don't get, Apprently Metallica has asked to join the Ozzfest tour and openly said they wouldn't ask to headline but just be a part of the main stage. Why isn't Sharon/Jack/whoever runs the damn thing now stepping up and grabbing the biggest Metal act of all time whom hasn't played the bill yet with the exception of AC/DC? Same with Anthrax (whom I'm sure has no problems being a second stage headliner and said they would do it for free). Same with Foo Fighters, whom are good Main Stage acts. If they can put Chevelle, P.O.D and Incubus up there like they did in the past, you can easily justify a better and more popular and deserving band like FF getting a Main Stage slot. B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I'd throw my own mother down the stairs to see Black Label Society and Clutch on the same bill. Modest Mouse and The Mars Volta on the same bill would be another dream show, as would a Tool/Dream Theater co-headlinging tour.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 23, 2004 MAIN STAGE Black Sabbath AC/DC Metallica Iron Maiden Slayer Motorhead DEAR GOD Don't put IM and Metallica on the same stage going out one after another. Given the history between the two bands Nicko WILL kill Lars Ulrich at some point. Which wouldn't be too bad, except he wouldn't be able to record with IM for the next album. Red Baron 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 nah the judge realized he (Nicko) did this for the good of the world (killing Lars), and give Nicko a golden ribbon.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I'd kill someone in front of their own mother to see an Iron Maiden/Iced Earth show. Of course, I'd do that just to see Iron Maiden live, PERIOD, but that's another matter.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Why does everyone like Dream Theater so much?
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Pertaining to many internet boards, Dream Theater is the Chris Benoit of Music.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I hate that ornate philosophical solofest. At least King Crimson managed to be improvisational, more varied, and more interesting, as well as slightly less masturbatory. Sure, those DT guys can play their instruments...but that's it. Music's more than that.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 tangerine...putting KoRn and Slipknot on the same stage as Shadows Fall and Black Label? I guaran-fucking-tee you that Brian Fair and Zakk Wylde would kill all of those fucking pussies in KoRn, and leave only Joey and Mick alive in Slipknot. My dream tour... HEADLINER STAGE (in reverse order of play) Slayer Shadows Fall Motörhead Nevermore Exodus SECOND STAGE The Misfits Flipp The Dickies Toxic Narcotic The Unseen THIRD STAGE Nile Dark Tranquility Arch Enemy In Flames Cannibal Corpse Main stage is thrashy-stuff, second stage is punk/hardcore, and third stage is Death. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I am being easy. But putting KoRn and Zakk Wylde on the same bill? On the same STAGE? There'd be a death on the hands of the promoter.
Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 23, 2004 That would be the draw . "Come See Jon Davis in his kilt for the LAST TIME! before Zakk Wylde drops him" Yes, I'm aware that some bands won't coexist and that wasn't really the thing i was doing, I was doing basically, what would be a "dream" tour for the masses. But I would certaintly leave Korn off and slide In Flames into the rotation (they are one of my favorites and i'm not sure how i let them slip). If Neccesary, Have Slipknot Headline the third stage and BLS headline stage two. As for putting Metallica and Iron Maiden on the same stage, well How about we simply just have lars get a sickness that lasts the WHOLE tour and slide in someone else, I'm sure IM will be fine as long as Lars isn't around. snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Slipknot tours the world giving fairly violent, energetic hour+ sets every night....in those million degree jumpsuits... Ridiculous - yes....but I dont think their supposed 'mainstream-ness' would lead to them from ever beng 'killed' in some metal band brawl.
Guest tangerine Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Yes, they do give some outragous sets. I think it's just a case of Corey's hatred of Slipknot for whatever reason that makes him think BLS would attack Slipknot...Which would be funny since they have toured on Ozzfest more then once, I don't see what would change here.
