UZI Suicide Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 http://www.brandrepublic.com/mediabulletin...igin=MB03082004 It is understood that US broadcaster, NBC, has offered Clinton the role for an entire season if he wants it. A decision is expected to be made by the end of this week. I'm assuming they don't mean as the host for the entire year, but on the cast. That would kick ass.
bob_barron Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I call bullshit on that one- it'll never happen Clinton hosting the show would be awesome though. The guy is very charismatic and I think he'd be willing to have a lot of fun and make fun of himself- those are usually the best hosts.
Downhome Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I wouldn't miss a single show if that happened, and I'm sure that's the response that they want. It'd work on me at least.
bobobrazil1984 Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 an ENTIRE SEASON!? Holy shikaka, I would become a regualr viewer (... ok for the first 2 or 3 months then i'd probably get bored, but still). Never happen though. However, Slick Willie should at least do one guest host appearance, and make some jokes at his own expense, the usual bit. It's good PR and all that.
DerangedHermit Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Maybe he should pull a Steve Martin. That's fine with me.
Highland Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Uh, no, it's not going to happen. Especially with all the Secret Service agents that follow Clinton everywhere he goes.
DerangedHermit Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Uh, no, it's not going to happen. Especially with all the Secret Service agents that follow Clinton everywhere he goes. Aw hell. It's like Eddie Murphy's entourage.
Placebo Effect Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I don't doubt that he'll host one show, though.
razazteca Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Maybe he should pull a Steve Martin. That's fine with me. He can guest host in November and make cameo appearences for the next few weeks!
teke184 Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 This would be interesting, if only because Clinton is typically referred to as a "notorious bad-sport holdout" when it comes to major politicians lampooned on SNL. Bob Dole, Al Gore, George HW Bush, George W Bush, candidate Steve Forbes and others have appeared on SNL after being made fun of, but Clinton never accepted any of their invitations.
Black Lushus Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 i was shocked when they got Janet Reno to do a skit with Will Ferrell posing as Janet Reno...she doesn't strike me as the type to go for that...
Damaramu Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I dunno.......I always think that most politicians like to be made fun of on the show. I mean the characters are so far off from real life that I think it allows the politcians to laugh at themselves. I know I would if I was a politician and lampooned on SNL.
teke184 Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 when did George W appear on SNL? W and Gore appeared on a special right before Election Day 2000 lampooning themselves.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 He should just play the sax in the band and crack one liners during the monologues.
Chazz Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 1 apperance for Clinton would be fine, but all season? That would get real old,IMO.
Guest SP-1 Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I saw on one of those annoying ads the Comedy Central runs in the corner of the screen DURING OTHER FREAKIN' SHOWS that Clinton will be on The Daily Show on Monday, I think. Which should be tremendous.
