snuffbox Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 You should all check out this link...its libertarianism based, but its quick and easy and shows you where you fit on a chart of political parties/philosophies.
snuffbox Posted August 7, 2004 Author Report Posted August 7, 2004 Wow http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html
Guest MikeSC Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Wow, 80% on both issues. Libertarian in da house! -=Mike
snuffbox Posted August 7, 2004 Author Report Posted August 7, 2004 The site says that about 35% end up scoring Libertarian... Im not sure if that is a result of the test being a bit skewed or that (in my opinion) libertarianism is the most popular 'philosophy' in America... Its a shame we only have the two dork parties to choose from though.
Highland Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Libertarian. Personal: 90% Economic: 80% The questions were clearly biased and while interesting, the quiz was far too short. In a larger and more comprehensive survey I'd probably lean more towards the left or centrist, especially on the economic issues.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I scored Centrist, slightly in the left-hand side of the centrist box.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I scored Centrist, slightly in the left-hand side of the centrist box. Same, except right hand side. 40, 60 as well.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Your Personal issues Score is 100%. Your Economic issues Score is 30%. Liberal.
DangerousDamon Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I scored Left Liberal, but I was very close to being a Libertarian. Personal issues Score:90%. Economic issues Score:40%.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I hit the Centrist bullseye, 50% on both.
Guest BDC Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I'm calling this bull. Has ANYONE hit conservative?
teke184 Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 40% personal, 70% economic, meaning that I'm a right-leaning centrist with more Libertarian leanings than Statist leanings.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 I'm calling this bull. Has ANYONE hit conservative? I think it's unlikely that many people will fall deep into the right-conservative quadrant because nowadays a large number of people who would be called conservatives support things such as free trade, which are libertarian policy (in the classical sense). Someone like Pat Buchanan would probably test as a right-conservative in this quiz.
Guest BDC Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 That's just it. I'm thinking that it's, shall we say, making the libertarian block the biggest to consume as many as possible.
spiny norman Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Personal issues: 90% Economic issues: 20% This make me liberal. I actually thought I'd be libertarian. Oh well.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 huh, 50% personal and 60% economic, placing me in the centrist camp on the border between conservative and libertarian. Figured I would have been closer to the conservative viewpoint.
Vern Gagne Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Personal 30% Economic 70% Right Conservative
Guest Horse hockey! Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 70/70 - Libertarian. I doubt the accuracy of this quiz. It's way too short.
Styles Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 This thing has been around for ever and yes it has been proved to be skewed and too short sighted, and only scoring on a linear plane, with the goal to try to get people to think they're Libertarians. Anyway, my score was Your Personal issues Score is 50%. Your Economic issues Score is 30% "Centrist". For a MUCH better political quiz that will score you on more than a linear basis and with less loaded questions, check out Political Compass: http://www.politicalcompass.org/ It really forces you to address your feelings on the issues. I scored: Economic Left/Right: 2.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.33 I mostly closely match Paul Martin, interesting enough. Same quarter as George W. though.
Styles Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Oh another fun one (not really anything too substantial, but funmostly because it ranks you from Jesse Jackson to Ronald Regan on the spectrum) is http://madrabbit.net/webrabbit/quizshow.html I scored 24, right about George Bush (Sr.). (W. is not on the spectrum)
Highland Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 I scored a 12, putting me right between Bill and Hillary but closer to Hillary
gWIL Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Personal issues Score is 80%. Economic issues Score is 20%. Left Liberal political compass Economic Left/Right: -7.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.97 Hillary Clinton 10 on the 3rd test
Guest Brian Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Economic Left/Right: -7.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.41 And 12 on the other.
Special K Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Hey, Slapnuts's test is where the goods are at. I scored a 21, putting me slightly conservative. Everyone, take that test. Really interesting and hits a shitload of the points.
Jobber of the Week Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 This (the first test) seems like it was made by one of those internet message board posters, you've seen the ones if you go to other political boards, who are hardcore Republicans and call themselves libertarians to make themselves sound more open minded. I've met a Republican who supported Bush's ban on gay marriages with all he could muster, thought it was a good thing that it left the door open to possibly ban civil unions too, and has crazy conspiracy theories about historical figures for peace being communists in disguise. Although he's registered ®, he considers himself an (L) because he doesn't want to admit he's a far-right shill so extreme other right-wing shills would be afraid of him. I'm taking the second quiz now, not sure about this one: 10. Which would curb violent crime most? Stricter controls on the sale of guns Mandatory sentences for those who use guns in the commission of a crime Both What, no "neither"?
