1234-5678 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 I want to get away again this summer, since I am back to work and all, and most of the hotel prices down the shore are just ridiculous, so I am looking at other options. This will most likely take place August 28-29, arriving late morning/early afternoon on the 28th, and going home on the 29th. So, I tried to pick areas that were in pretty close proximity to me, and here are my options. So pick away!
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Where do you live and what do you want to do while on the road? And were you the person that had the experience with the Pepsi vendors?...
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 I can't recall any problems with Pepsi............ I live close to Philadelphia, in the suburbs. I basically wanna be the typical tourist during the day, then tear up the town at night. I am leaning towards Cleveland actually, because I want to see the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Someone applied for a job with Pepsi and called off an interview due to the weather and couldn't get it re-scheduled. For some reason I thought it was you -- just wanted to see where that person ended up. I've been to D.C., Baltimore and Atlantic City. I would say Baltimore if you like baseball and fishies, plus I don't think Baltimore is that far away from Philly...
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Yeah that was me, my fault. Where I ended up? Eh, being shuffled around from job to job by temp agencies, and working part time in a bar.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Cleveland sucks. Don't bother.
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 It wouldn't even be worth seeing the RNR Hall of Fame? As a big Morrison fan, I'd love to see the Doors exhibits.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 12, 2004 There's fuck all to do there, and that place is worth about 2 hours, maybe three.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Don't go to Atlantic City, other than the casinos, that place is a humongous shit hole...I'd say Boston, because that's the only place on this list I myself haven't been to...I lived in DC, do not go there, it's about 90% crap, unless that's your sort of thing... Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Atlantic City is great for low-brow entertainment though, gambling, booze, bitches..Yeah, it's a dump, but that's part of the charm.

The Ravens do have a preseason game vs Detroit on Saturday..but I doubt thats of major interest. I suggest a theme park. There are several within close range of Philly. Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 Washington and Chicago were both cities I enjoyed a lot while travelling through the States, and had plenty to do on a modest budget. New York was also fun but cost a little more.

spiny norman 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 As someone who was a tourist in America myself, I thought Washington was the best place I went to, followed by New York of those on the list.
Guest Miss Indy Queen Report post Posted August 13, 2004 If you're thinking of coming to New York City during that time, I would not advise that considering we are having the Republican National Convention during that time and the following week. I'm not sure what you want to do during that time, but I would probably go with Boston or Atlantic City.

1234-5678 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2004 1. Boston is my favorite city in the world, perfect for an Irish drunk like myself, just like you said Corey Laz. 2. I'm from just outside Philly, Sledge. 3. The fuckin trip is most likely off, since my most recent job was data entry for a temp agency, and they promised me three months of work...........it turned into three weeks. So I don't really have the money anymore, and my summer is a fuckin bust as usual.
