Guest bigm350 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 What would you consider to be the Holy Grail of wrestling? If you had to find one thing that best represented Pro Wrestling what would it be? It doesn't matter what it is. It can be a belt, boots, or whatever. IMO I would have to say the Big Gold belt. But its a tough call with all the historical significance in wrestling. Maybe the Hart House? I don't know.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 The WCW TV Title or Bret Hart's pink shades
Slingshot Suplex Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 The Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis
Guest bigm350 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 The Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis Good choice.
Guest Sykotic2002 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Tokyo Nippon Budokan (sp) or Madison Square Garden.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 NOTHING comes close to MSG.
LucharesuFan619 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Korakuen Hall or the Tokyo Dome.
Vampiro69 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 I would say the ECW Aena/Bingo Hall. This was seen as a chance for upcommers to try and show themselves on another level, instead of working for 25 people they got larger crowds.
Guest Ray Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 I'm surprised no one picked the most important thing in wrestling... THE MATCH! Kawada/Taue vs Misawa/Kobashi 6/9/95 is, for me, the absolute peak of the artform. Wait....isn't a "Holy Grail" something great, that hasn't been found?
Guest Prof_Plague Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Oh, the choices. First off, I'll have to go with what Hulk Hogan once said: the boots he wore when he picked-up Andre the Giant. But, that's one of many choices. ...As for random things: Pete Rose in a chicken suit and the Goobledy Gooker.
LucharesuFan619 Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 Now that I think about it, maybe just the NWA title. That's the whole shebang, man. Once you've got that, you've done it in this business.
Guest momoracci Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 Akira Hokuto vs. Shinobu Kandori, 4/2/93 Misawa/Akiyama vs. Kawada/Taue, 12/6/96 The deepest and richest examples of in-ring storytelling I've ever seen. Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, 6/27/98 Pure wrestling at its absolute pinnacle. Each of these, one way or another, is a Holy Grail for me. Anthony

Once you've got that, you've done it in this business. The belt from 70's- early 80's held by Dory and Terry Funk, Race, Brisco, Flair, and Rhodes? Thats a good choice.
Corey_Lazarus Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 The entire Raven/Tommy Dreamer feud, from January 1995 until the blowoff in the summer of 1997. The feud that made Raven, the feud that made Tommy Dreamer, and the feud that made ECW.

Masked Man of Mystery Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 1. A copy of Chris Benoit vs Bret Hart in the Owen Hart tribute match 2. ECW, plain and simple 3. A copy of a Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair match(pick one) 4. A copy of Mankind vs. the Undertaker in the Cell 5. A copy of Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven, Wrestlepalooza '97 6. Hulk Hogan's face run before Lesnar took him out not necessarily the very greatest of wrestling, but what I feel represents the passion of wrestling and what makes it great
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 6. Hulk Hogan's face run before Lesnar took him out The 2002 comeback run? Losing to Lance Storm & Christian? And Triple H? And Rock? And Lesnar? And Taker? And Angle? I think that Hulk/Andre rematch from SNME justifies what "wrestling" is all about nowadays.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 How about the Hart's(even though it's not their's now)home in Calgary Alberta?
