Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Statement: Taker's Whacky MMA Submissions will one day get over. Rebuttal: For the most part, they already are. People buy the Dragon Sleeper and Triangle Choke and the others are over enough on rareness alone (I.E. Hey, when was the last time he did a Short Arm Scissors?) Promoter 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Rebuttal: Orton/Cena has more chance of being like HHH/Rock than Austin/Rock. Austin/Rock is the Hogan/Savage of the attitude era. Rock is Savage to Austin's Hogan.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Statement: Rey Misterio should be permanently removed from the Cruiser Division and made a legit upper-midcard player. Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Statement: This website would not exist if not for Vince McMahon Sr. Rebuttal: This website wouldn't be around if Vince McMahon Jr. took over his father's company. The NWA or AWA had the chance to take over but we're too busy doing the territorial thing. Vince Jr. decided to take over the world. The Dames 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Statement: Despite what people say, HHH loves this business because he probably wrestled more that most than the roster and he only left to film one thing. Rebuttal: I don't deny that HHH loves professional wrestling, but if truly loved the business, he wouldn't have put himself in the top spot at the expense of others, which have caused a decrease in revenue, ratings, profits and overall morale for the business he "loves". Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 22, 2004 My thing w/ Angle is that he can only claim one legit "great" match in the history of his WWE career and that's vs Benoit @ Rumble 2003. His promo's for the most part suck and are overrated as 90% of it is head bobbing and mispronouncing people's name (I bet to this day he still can't say Triple H). At times he has shown little to no grasp of in-ring psychology. Tons of good matches, a few very good ones but for a guy who's considered a legend in the sport his body of work doesn't show it. I'm in agreement, however, that he has never been booked well either, specifically his first two title runs which were abortions. I honestly think Austin/Angle SS 01 is a great match in every sense of the word.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Edit: *that's also assuming that Flair was infact -at one time- the GOAL, which IMO he wasn't. His promos were fantastic, but I can think of some who did it better. His matches -at times- were great, but I can think of a lot who did it better. But NO ONE did both as well. Ric Flair IS the greatest all around performer EVER.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 I agree with you Zsasz. Great match which is marred by the finish. Unfortunately, despite being the main event on WWE's #2 show of the year, the build up, story and payoff for Angle/Austin was VERY weak which hurt the match's heat a bit, I'd say. Ric Flair IS the greatest all around performer EVER. No. Hogan and/or Austin is. In terms of all around _performance_, those two have Flair beat. Austin was able to have better "peak" promos and matches, and Hogan had greater matches and was able to captivate a greater audience.

Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Statement: Taker's Whacky MMA Submissions will one day get over. False. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Statement: The Dynamite Kid is the most influential wrestler ever. Disagreed. Though he influenced guys like Lyger, Benoit, Kikuchi, I believe Karl Gotch had greater influence as he helped train a generation of Japanese wrestlers like Inoki, Fujinami, Fujiwara, Sayama, Maeda, Matsuda, Takada etc. who all -in turn-, helped influence another generation of wrestlers. However, a case could be made for Billy Riley who helped train Dynamite Kid, Billy Robinson, and Gotch (who credits Riley for his success). Verne Gagne also helped train and mold a lot of wrestlers as-well-as Dory Funk Jr.

I don't see the Rock on Hogan and Austins level. Rock rode Austins wave and even though he became more successful than Austin, he didn't have the same connection with the fans that Austin had. The crowd turns so easily on the Rock, while it's incredibly hard to get them to boo Hogan or Austin. It takes a certain talent to develop that bond between fan and wrestler, Hogan and Austin did it very well. Flair did too, for that matter.
