Make a statement

Recommended Posts

Statement: Bob Sapp will become a WWE wrestler within the next 5 years.

Rebuttal: Sapp makes FAR more money in Japan than Vince would dream of offering him (about £3 million per annum, according to one report I read) and Vince would be cautious about putting him over his home-made stars.

Statement: There is more chance of Rene Dupree becoming WWE champion than Rob Van Dam

Good. RVD doesn't deserve a world title reign.

Statement: Smackdown needs Hulk Hogan.

Rebuttal: No it doesn't. He'd just overshadow everyone else, and it wouldn't pay off by giving anyone a rub. He'd get big pops, which would feed his ego, which would end up in Hogan pushing for a big spot, and ultimately walking out over some sort of disagreement w/ Vince.

But look how horribly low Smackdown is on Main Eventers. Hulk Hogan is a good fix for now until some other wrestlers are established. I'm not saying give him another World Title reign. Just let him put people over again and send him off for another year before he gets stale.

OK, it's just something that would make me watch Smackdown again on a regular basis.

I just don't think Hogan's ego would let him be used as fodder to put other people over. Besides, who would they have him put over?

Rebuttal: The Big Show and Horseshu

Hulk Hogan vs. JBL could have potential. The Real American Hulk Hogan vs. the So-called Real American JBL who's really a racist. Maybe JBL and pull a Stan Hansen and get a really good (stiff) match out of Hogan at a PPV like Armageddon or something. Of course, that would mean JBL would be World Champion into the year 2005.

Hulk Hogan vs. Kurt Angle is always interesting, but their previous matches from KOTR 2002 and on Smackdown weren't too good, mainly because Hogan can't take 800 German Suplex bumps.

Hulk Hogan vs. Eddie Guerrero (if he's a heel) might be a good match-up. Wouldn't know how to start a feud with them though (unless they do a tired "I hate cheaters" storyline)

Other potential feuds could be versus John Cena, Rene Dupree, or maybe (gulp) Luther Reigns.

Hulk Hogan vs. Rob Van Dam would be a serious carwreck waiting to happen though.

Edit: Forgot about The Big Show, mainly because he's been gone for 5 months.

Hogan vs. JBL - I dunno, I doubt Hogan's going to want to do a high-profile job to a glorified mid-carder.

Hogan vs. Angle could work, but does Angle need the rub?

Hogan vs. Eddie - I don't think they'd try to turn Eddie. Hell, they tried once, and it didn't work. Besides, unless they've got big plans for Eddie, I don't see the point in doing this program, especially if they continue to stick w/ JBL as champ.

Cena would be logical, in order to cement him as a ME player. But would they want to risk Hogan getting bigger pops than Cena before putting Cena in the ME scene?

I can't see Hogan agreeing to job to Dupree or Reigns.

It all depends on Hogan's ego. If he's willing to come in and put people over, then maybe it'd be OK (although I'd still have reservations). But with Hogan, that's a big if.

Hogan vs. any Cruiserweight shouldn't happen because it will produce horrible matches. Besides, no one would seriously believe someone like Rey Jr. or Chavo would beat Hulk Hogan unless 20 people interfered.

The likes of Rey or Chavo beating Hogan is no more unrealistic than an a man like Hogan, who isn't exactly in the prime of life, beating Reigns, Jindrak or Dupree, all of whom I doubt Hogan would put over, which is the main reson I'd be opposed to his return.

Statement: Eddie Guerrero and John Cena both need to turn heel before the end of the year, or risk a situation similar to The Rock towards the end of 2002...i.e, having the fans turn on them.

Rebuttal: Trade them to Raw since Evolution needs new people to job for them.

What kind of statement is that?

STATEMENT: Randy Orton is the world champion.

People like him now.

Statement: Batista is better than Randy Orton in every possible way.

Dave has been the total package of what a wrestler should be, while it took months for Randy Orton to evolve into what he is now........transitional champ. Now that Randy has been excommunicate from the stable it is time for Dave to shine as the pinnicle of what the Hoss should be.........the ruler and master of the world!

Duh. He'll continue to be it too, until he decides otherwise.

Batista is underrated by a portion of the IWC. I think a good majority, including myself, recognize him as something rare: a hoss with talent. I do agree that he's constantly improving though.

Statement: Booker T deserves one last title run before he retires.

Agreed, but on a few conditions. One, give him guys he can perform well with. Two, one of said opponents must be Chris Benoit. Three, he should be a face when it happens.

Statement: The WWE as a whole would be better if more retired wrestlers were on the booking/writing teams.

Rebuttal: Orton actually has a developed character (although I don't know how it'll carry over as a face) while Batista is just pushed as a generic animal who yells a lot.

Rebuttal to Fook: That is because Dave has not had much time to develop his character since most of the time has been focused on making Orton the one who gets to hand the title over to HHH. Dont for get Dave also does the bodybuilder pose showing off his tatoos. Batista is the Hoss that Horseshu, Matt Morgan, Nathan Jones, Jinjrak, Palumbo, Tomko & Fetig wish they were. Dave Batista has evolved above the average & boring cookie cutter Hoss to become the new mold for the big guy.

WWE should stop trying to make the next Kevin Nash or Test and focus on making the next Psycho Sid Vicious.

Rebuttal to the Rebuttal to Me: Batista plays an excellent enforcer and I do prefer watching him rather than Orton, but right now the focus is on Orton. Batista doesn't get as much time to build his character, and it shows as all JR and King can say about him is that he's an animal.

The statement was that Batista was better than Orton in every concievable way, but that's not true - Orton's character is more developed.

Rebuttal: My mistake. Let me rephrase my previous HHH statement. Triple H is the BEST heel to ever step foot in the WWE. Nobody plays a better evil, selfish, conniving bastard better than him.

Agreed.

Dave should be in Orton's shoes right now, not as world champion but as the guy to break away from Evolution and turn face. He was getting face pops long before Orton was.

Statement: Hulk Hogan will be on the card in some way, shape or form at WrestleMania 21.

BTW, a mod should consider pinning this because it's the type of thread that will always get replies and I wouldn't want to make other board members jealous that my thread is holding theirs down.

Rebuttal: There is no need for Hogan to be on the WM21 card. If he wasn't on the biggest WM ever, WM 20, why would Vince think it necessary to bring him back for WM21?

Statement: Samoa Joe would be able to get over huge in the WWE if Vince ever signed him.

You misread what I said. I said that he will be on the card, not should.

Disagreed on Samoa Joe. All of the things that people love him for would be taken away in a heartbeak if he ever signed with WWE.

Rebuttal: No. If anything, the IWC slightly overrates him. Then again, that might just be a cult thing for this particular messageboard.

Statement: As long as Trish is a heel, the women's division is slowly vaporizing.
