Guest Ronnie755 Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 The preview on the TNA site for the next TNA show hypes 3 Live Kru v. Team Canada, with a new 3LK member. Who could it be? X-Pac?
Guest Coffey Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Man, I hope not. Still, maybe The Truth will be completely away from them now....
Guest Staravenger Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Thank God. Killings needs to break away from 3LK to be a serious main eventer, and not teaming with mid-carders on a more regular basis. Off-Topic: Is Killins a 2-time or 3-time World Champion? I've barely watched a TNA PPV at all since January. I remember him winning it once this year (from Styles I think), but someone I know said he won it twice this year. Did he win it back from Jarrett or is my friend lying?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 2 times. He won it from Shamrock back on week 8, and then pinned Styles in a 4 way earlier this year.
starvenger Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Thank God. Killings needs to break away from 3LK to be a serious main eventer, and not teaming with mid-carders on a more regular basis. Oddly enough, I was gonna say something like that. Not having ever gotten the PPVs, I still don't know if the guy can wrestle, and have to put up with seeing the same "charismatic" BS he was doing back on Velocity/Metal.
Zack Malibu Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Why could I totally see Spanky as the "runt" of the group. Kind of like a homeboy Spike Dudley, with more of a workrate.
Mecha Mummy Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Why could I totally see Spanky as the "runt" of the group. Kind of like a homeboy Spike Dudley, with more of a workrate. Oh god. Spanky doesn't deserve that. His gimmick would sorta fit in I guess, but ugh.
Guest Donners Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 If they've taped vignettes for him, I doubt he'd debut before they aired.
Guest Staravenger Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Rikishi? What a horrible thing to say!
Guest bort Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 I think PWI mentioned a masked Dusty Rhodes somewhere as the new member
Mecha Mummy Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Just when I thought the Dusty/Russo feud couldn't find new ways to suck, they intend to bring back the Midnight Rider. Argh.
Scroby Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Rikishi wouldn't surprise me since 3LK is basically the rappers/dancers of old from WWE and WCW.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Dusty as Midnight Rider= Horrible Idea. Rikishi= Could work for a pop. Would cost too much money Spanky= horrible waste of his talent. But 3LK could use an X Division presence. They have Truth in the Heavyweight scene, BG and Konnan in the tag and no one in the X. Just a thought. And wouldn't a new person make them the 4LK?
strummer Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Why does everyone on this board hate 3LK so much? Well, I do know why, but they are very popular with the audience. I mean Meltzer in his reports always says that they are getting some of the bigger reactions on the shows. One of the FEW that are getting actual reactions from the tough crowd. If you just listened to this board, you would think they were heatless wonders who no one gave a damn about. I know they aren't good workers, but I give them credit for being over. I don't understand how it would be "career suicide" for a new wrestler to join them.
CubbyBr Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 You're right, Strummer. Konnan and BG will never be 5-star workers but they're getting a lot better in the ring and are more motivated. They really pop the crowd and are a good addition to the tag division.

I don't understand how it would be "career suicide" for a new wrestler to join them. Because "being over" is less useful than "Being good". Nobody in 3LK has shown any ability to put a BUTT in the seat --- they're simply Hogan in his last WWE run. He gets pops, but nobody pays to see him. -=Mike
Corey_Lazarus Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 ^Yep. Putting Spanky with BG and Konnan would be career suicide because it would forever typecast him as "BG and Konnan's little weird buddy." I know his character on the indies isn't serious, in fact he's a big goofball, but doing lame sexual innuendo's and bad raps? That's pushing it too far.
King Cucaracha Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Not like it'd be anything new for Spanky... Word.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 If they NEED a runt of the group, get Jack Evans. He's less of an all around talent than Spanky is, so puttin him there wouldn't be a big waste.
Vyce Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Oh yay, The Midinight Rider! It would be awful, but I'd love it, simply because I'm an Old School NWA mark. "You can't stop.....The Midnight Rider!"
Guest Marty2Hotty Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 I love the 3 Live Kru. My brother keeps saying, that when casual wrestling fans flip the channel and see the Road Dogg and Konnan, I mean, they are recognizable names! I think it's wrong to split up the original 3 live kru. Truth should still be a part of them. I dont think they'll be split up.. They can have four members in 3 Live Kru right? Rename them to 4 Live Kru? TNA is coming out with a DVD for these guys anyways! Could it be Billy Gunn?>
JoeDirt Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Could it be Billy Gunn? No, it's not going to be Gunn. Meltzer said it would be Dusty uinder a mask, so we'll see if he's right. I don't have any problem with 3LK. Sure, they probably don't put asses in the seats, but who really does, you know?

Of course I am a huge Hogan fan, but if you mean casual viewers, then eh...I know the 2002 Backlash was the only year I got the April PPV since 1996's Good Friends; Better Enemies. Back to the original statement, I don't mind 3LK, but I am never confusing Konnan & B.G. James (their current state) as good wrestlers. Ron Killings was the best worker of the bunch, and all three are charismatic enough to not suck completely.
Magus Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Dusty in 3LK? More Dusty vs. Russo? This has "shit" written all over it. At least Truth is out of 3LK. If I had it my way, I'd have Kanyon as the new member of 3LK. He'd fit in well, he has just as much charisma as James or Konnan, and he can carry more than his end of a match.

If 3LK are over.. and a GOOD WORKER joins, then he's a good worker in an over stable.. maybe I'm missing something.. Not like he has to tag with the other 2 all the time.. Truth is pretty much a singles competitor but 3LK bring him more heat.
