AmazingRen 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Everytime WWE uses someone's music for their PPV's I always check to see if WWE helps their album sales. For the Unforgiven PPV they are using Saliva's (Why?) music. Well they went from 20 to 63 to 88!!!
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Well, it is Saliva.. I mean, come on. Who even listens to them - or let alone has actually heard of them outside of WWE? [note: not me]
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Because Saliva is cool with WWE about the licensing fees / royalties issues?
AmazingRen 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 The worst part of it is that the song has nothing to with the PPV. They should have used a song that fits the HHH and Orton feud. I would have picked Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit."
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Something tells me that 'Saliva' comes at a lower price than Linkin Park does...
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Oh come on guys, you must know Saliva! They did that Click Click Boom song! Guys?
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 I find it difficult to grasp that anyone thought "WWE is using the new Saliva song, I'm soooo not buying that album." Considering the lack of hype the new Saliva album has gotten, it's more likely that WWE using the song actually boosted sales from being even more low. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 funny you say that...i was just at Best Buy a couple days ago and saw the new Saliva album on one of the display racks and was like, they have a new album? *shrug and move on*...
Guest D'Lo White Report post Posted September 9, 2004 I don't think the WWE are album kilers. I've had never even heard of Evanessence until they used their crappy song for a PPV a couple of years ago. I'll never forgive them.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 They used Finger Eleven's "One Thing" on the Benoit DVD and now the song is Top 40 on Billboard, so it's all relative.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted September 9, 2004 I also think WWE made TATU.

Guest D'Lo White Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Don't forget what the WWE did for the career of 12 Stones! 12 STONES RULE
Slickster 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Speaking of 12 Stones, I'm expecting 'So Far Away' to be used as the No Mercy theme. That, or the first single from Submersed's debut album.

SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 funny you say that...i was just at Best Buy a couple days ago and saw the new Saliva album on one of the display racks and was like, they have a new album? *shrug and move on*... Hehe, I actually WORK at a Best Buy and I didn't know it was coming out either until I came in one morning and it was sitting their right by the computer I use to punch in. My reaction to it was more or less the same as your's.
Guest Big Daddy V1 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 They used Finger Eleven's "One Thing" on the Benoit DVD and now the song is Top 40 on Billboard, so it's all relative. They only used that song since it was popular and people would say 'Hey, that's finger eleven.' As for the Saliva sng, I like it, but it dosn't work as a theme for Unforgiven. The theme should be more of a dark and slower paced theme to match the layout they used for the PPV matches.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 I've been hearing a lotta hype about the saliva album around Michigan on our Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Classic rock station. 101.1 the WRIF. It's not a bad album from what my friends have told me.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Saliva's new record... - No record company support for real advertising - A change in the music - Joey Scott (or whatever his name is) frequently insulting his record company and the collaboration with Chad Kroeger that made his former management so much money - The name doesn't hold much value anymore. - Slipping that far isn't that rare of an event. I've heard good things about the new album, surprisingly.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Did WWE help RUSH sales in the US? I hope not. *cringes at Rush's "Summertime Blues."
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted September 10, 2004 And what's that supposed to mean? No something like Limp Bizkit doing Behind Blue Eyes or Six Feet Under doing the Back In Black album is something to cringe at. Besides they were roughly a 200% upgrade over the 2003 SSlam theme. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Well...when you use "St. Anger" for ANYTHING...yeah. Even Linkin Park is an upgrade. And I'm waiting for WWE to use the new Kittie single, "Into the Darkness." It's actually (**GASP!**) a good song.
Australian Pride 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 I actually think using Saliva is pretty fitting for this PPV, considering the build for the main event basically started with Randy Orton spitting in HHH's face. I've hated the songs WWE has used on PPV for the last couple of years. The only one that really struck me as great was "My Way" by Limp Bizkit, which fit the Rock/Austin promo pieces perfectly. Since then it's just the same shit every month, the only exception being Rush.
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Oh you mean the last three Survivor Series songs haven't fit the event like a glove? Let's see, -A song about an S&M relationship set to the backdrop of WWE vs Alliance. -A song about attempted spousal murder to the first Elimination Chamber -And the typical 'whatever Fred Durst is whining about this week' set to The Jerichoholics (ruined by Orton) vs Austin's last defense? I'm afraid for SSeries
Guest Big Daddy V1 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Did anyone want to kill themselves after Limp Bizkit did 'Build a Bridge' as a theme? I know I did, I heard it 12 times during Heat (yes, the one before the PPV, only time I watch it now, but with Benoit and Jericho on it, I got to watch more often)
Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 - Joey Scott (or whatever his name is) frequently insulting his record company and the collaboration with Chad Kroeger that made his former management so much money He didn't rip Island Records. Josey went after the band's former managers and agents, who they cut ties with after their third album. This was in reference to being jipped out of money for doing the collaboration with Kroeger for "Hero". For the single, Josey was only paid $5,000, while the band's agent, Kroeger and the record company who produced the Spiderman soundtrack (NOT Island) made a killing off of it. I know I did, I heard it 12 times during Heat (yes, the one before the PPV, only time I watch it now, but with Benoit and Jericho on it, I got to watch more often) YES!!! That song made me hate them even more. The best theme that WWE has used was Drowning Pool's "Bodies" for Summer Slam 2001.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 I would have picked Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit." ::Shudders:: I think I'd take an ice pick and pick at my brain if I hear that song ever MORE often. Didn't WWE sorta help Evanescence a bit?
