Star Wars Trilogy DVD Set

Recommended Posts

I have my original VHS box set.

Since the originals will NEVER be released on DVD, I'm not buying this.

VHS still has one good use, the actual versions.

I was searching for something and came upon this thread and started to read through it, and i saw this post, and I HAD TO, HAD TO, HAD TO reply, and 2GOLD, wha ti have to say to you is...

Goddamn, I envy you!

*wishes I took care of my VHS set*

The best part is it's in perfect shape. No damage to any of the inner boxes or the outer boxes. It's damn shocking but the set is in as perfect condition as it can be when opened.

My half brother tried to give me 200 dollars for it after he bought the new DVD set. Which he sold for 10 dollars he hated it so much. And no, I didn't sell the VHS set to him.

That thing is mine.

I was a little kid back when the Star Wars saga came out on VHS. I didn't realize the importance of covers, and things like that. All have been watched to hell, and have lots of dust.

Damn, damn, damn!

I remember the Ewok movies being on The Disney Channel when I was a kid, but I can't remember if they were worth a shit or not. I'm guessing they are pretty bad, which is why I'm holding off on buying them.

Kotzenjunge, I ranted on the JCF tonight when it was suggested Lucas make more changes to the OT like putting Bail Organa, Yoda, and Palpatine in ANH.

And I bet you people would buy this super ultra edition also, right if just one or two changes were made?

That's like going out to get the whole box set again because your ROTJ dvd has a smudge on it.

It doesn't need to be changed anymore. It's good where it's at.

Greedo will always shoot first. Always. I don't like it, but it's there, and always will be, so get over it.

Lucas will never release the unaltered version again because he's an ***hole. Like he said, it's his movies, and he will do with them what he wants, and there's not a damn thing on the face of the planet we can do about it except cry about it on forums and watch our VHS tapes that are falling apart due to age.

Don't let a few things ruin the movie for you.

Good thing we're all about as cynical as you here, CBright. Still, I should head over to TFn to see what kind of death threats you get...

the only way I'd get a new version if my current version goes to shit...I really do hope Lucas doesn't feel the need to add more because I would hate it if I no longer liked the series I have loved since I was 5...

The people in 3SA and the movie forums at the JC are generally out of their fucking minds. Episode III could be two hours of Lucas taking a dump in front of a blue screen and they would defend his "vision" to the death.

Know what really pisses me off?

I have a box set of the original trilogy, and of the re-done trilogy, on VHS.

They're both fucking fullscreen. You can't even READ the opening text. Such a pain in the ass.

Edit: I'm an idiot.

I don't know if you're joking or not, but I think it's a lot easier to read the opening text in widescreen.

I have the VHS sets in pan and scan, but that's only because I couldn't find a widescreen version at the time. The opening text is a real pain in the ass to read in fullscreen/pan and scan. I haven't watched my VHS sets in years because I don't really feel like watching "Ew Hop," "Pire Strikes Ba," or "Urn of the Je."

I guess you're not cool enough to talk about Star Wars anymore, C Bright.

:(

I guess I should let someone strike me down with a lightsaber now.
