Whats wrong with taking down notes? Every politicial should take down notes. It shows interest. Hidden mic so Bush can speak? Um? The hell, not even Michael Moore would say such a thing. Or receiver. Ya. I'm sure Bush would do such a thing. A pic like that could have been easily altered with Photoshop, or some kind of photo program. And this whole content on who's better. It's not even a debate. A debate is to bring up a discussion of intellectual thoughts on your opinions, not opinions from "political theorists" or "credible sources". You can be an independent, and be left or right leaning. Independent more just refers to the fact that you aren't going to vote for a candidate simply for the party they are affiliated with and/or won't just blindly vote down party lines on every issue. There is a misconception out there that being an independent means that you vote "down the middle" on issues, when that is just one form of being an independent.

Because it seems like being a Canadian isn't really much better in that regard. Or do you feel that way in the sense that Canadians pay no attention whatsover to politics in their own country?

Which puts them a bit above the Canadian Prime Minister. American elections are the most heated in the world. Look up election results for other countries. If they have a President, it's usually a strongman. And if they have a prime minister, they have coalitions and all that. American politics has a big rivalry between the forces of Democrat and Republican
