WWE GETS DISTURBING NEWS IN RAW RATING

by Dave Scherer @ 8:05:00 PM on 10/5/2004

From the “This sure wasn’t what WWE wanted to hear” dept., this week’s edition of Raw did a 3.4 cable rating, with a five share. What made the number so disturbing was the fact that the first hour did a 3.5, but the second hour dropped to a 3.3. No matter how anyone tries to spin it, that is a horrible trend. You never want to lose viewers as the show goes on.

In other ratings news, The WWE Experience did a 0.5 cable rating, with a 1.3 share.

Velocity did a 0.4 cable rating, with a 0.8 share.

Heat did a 0.7 cable rating, with a 1.2 share.

And that's what they get for putting that damn Jericho in the main event. When will they learn?!

Actually, I think it's an indication of just how much "X-Pac Heat" that Carmella has.

I wasn't really surprised. Fans grew bored with what was presented In the first hour that many of them didn't come back for the second. I know that's what I did.

Most likely it's mainly because they put their "huge main event" on at 10:00.

For the purposes of what's been built up in recent weeks HBK vs Christian > HHH vs Jericho

I've been sitting here racking my brain for hours on who's fault this is.

Benoit.

I pretty much stoped caring after Shawn kicked out of the Unprettier.

That was on Raw or the commercial for the new video game?

On RAW...I wished Christain would do what about everyone else does in Day Of Reckoning, no sell SCM.

What about schoolkids having to go to bed early? That could've been part of the problem. A small part perhaps but a part nontheless. What part of the year are .2 drops "common" anyway? Any? None?

Why do you people fucking bitch her? Her visiuals/selling were GRAND on Monday.

That may be true, but she fucking lost the contest, so she shouldn't be on the goddamn show.

So you believe WWE never have should have signed Chris Nowinski or Josh Matthews, considering they did both lose on "Tough Enough"?

Just because Carmella lost her contest, or Chris lost his contest, or Josh lost his contest, doesn't mean WWE should pass on them completely. If they see some talent in these people, then - by all means - they should sign them.

The whole point is, Carmella is LACKING in the talent department, so why keep her around? I realize Vince is probably trying to kiss Hugh Hefner's ass by keeping little Miss Talent Void around for a few extra weeks, but give it a rest. I've seen better acting at a high school play for god's sake.

I'll give you Chris Nowinski, because he was really pretty amusing, but I'm still not sure why they hired Josh Matthews. He's just ah, dorky. I sort of miss Nowinski and his smug promos about Harvard.

I do that on almost all of my replies. I select an icon out of habit.

Unless, of course, I use fast reply. Then I only do it if I have to edit my post.

Carmella's acting is better than Lita's, let's all at least agree on that...hell it's better than half of the other divas on either show...

Well, after her ONE attempt it was...but let's not forget how horrid Carmella was during the Diva Contest. Remember the Kamala skit where she just laughed and looked stupid?

I'd say that heel Trish is the best right now, though that's not saying much.

From PWI INsider site

We reported the Raw rating, which saw hour two drop 0.2 of a rating point from the opening hour, earlier on the site. In addition to only doing a 3.4 rating overall, the peak quarter hour for the night was just a 3.6, which they did at 9:15-9:30, 10:00-10:15 and 10:15-10:30. The low quarter hours came at 10:30-10:45 and 10:45-11:00 segments, which did just a 3.0. To see those kinds of drops that late in the show is certainly a matter of concern for WWE.

I will give you that, I'm digging heel Trish...

question...is there a reason why these women can't act and wrestle and brawl as well as the men? is there too big a fear of injuries or messing up their pretty faces? I may actually enjoy women wrestling if they would bring in some average chicks and let them beat the shit outta each other a la Japan....
