Tag Team has got to be Hollywood Boulevard, since they broke the record. Admittedly the tag division hasn't been all that hotly contested since I joined, but still - respect.

Stable - I'd say the Unnamed. They may have disappeared halfway through the year, but all three original members made it to the World Title so that has to be recognised.

That just implies that they were really better individually, but that's just my opinion.

As for my selections... Yeah, I'll go with Hollywood Boulevard for breaking a long-storied record.

And because they're cool like that. :P

Rookies? Uhm... Was Toxxic a rookie for this? If so, definitely him.

Rookie of the Year - Uncle Filthy. Or that Toxxic guy.

Filthy, rKade, Carnage and Wolfe hadn't debuted at Genesis. They're ineligible.

Feud of the Year: Landon Maddix/Alan Clark.

Stable of the Year: Unholy Trinity, mainly because I have to pimp myself at least Once, right?

Rookie Of The Year Award: Toxxic, if he still counts. Fastest rise EVER.

I debuted on Feb 6th so yeah, I am still technically a rookie.

I feel like a good movie that comes out in the summertime that gets forgotten by February (or whenever they nominate movies for the Oscars). :(

I'm going to give in to a little self-indulgence and nominate Wild and Dangerous. I've had to take off a lot of time from writing, due to my military obligations, so W&D didn't get the chance to dominate like we could have, especially given the lack of competition. In fact, if I hadn't had to go on an indefinite hiatus in April, we would have already become three-time tag champions. As far as why we deserve consideration, allow me to try to make my case:

- Two-time SWF Tag Team Champions - third team in SWF History to accomplish this feat.

- 75-day Tag Team title reign - 7th longest in SWF history.

- Title reign highlighted by key title victories/defenses against: the Unholy Trinity, the Unnamed, the House of Todd (twice) and Hollywood Boulevard.

- Most impressive title defense: probably From the Fire '04, against the House of Todd. Hell, Todd still hasn't come back from that spinning piledriver we put on him... ;) In fact, come to think of it, we probably deserve special recognition for inadvertently launching the singles career of Landon Maddix. ;)

And while our reign wasn't as lengthy as some others (hell, it was only the third-longest in this nomination period!), our 75-day reign was earmarked by a lot of title defenses, considering the short span of time. We probably had as many title defenses in seventy-five days as HB had in a hundred and thirty.

Not only that, but while Justice and Rule dominated 2003 without question, Wild & Dangerous were widely considered by many to be the one team that was a serious threat to them... Judge and Ejiro included. Hell, they even conspired to split Wildchild and Johnny up, just so that we wouldn't take their belts from them! ;)

Well, that's all I had to say. I'm sure that HB will probably win, and I'm equally sure that they will have rightfully earned it, but I just wanted to remind those of you who may have forgotten, or were otherwise not around to see it, that Wild and Dangerous was pretty good, too.

- Dub "and not for nothin', but the only time we ever faced HB... we won" Cee

Wildchild says, "Blah blah blah I swear I'm not bitter over anything I'm just in character."

Mike Van Siclen says, "This is an angry statement that has been edited as a result of my own better judgment. Thanks, Tom."

You'll note that the win the W&D scored over us was all of Zack's second match in the fed, and at that was a 5000 word ladder match that neither of us had much time to write for. I'll give credit that a win is still a win but I will guaranfuckingtee you that eight out of ten times we take that match.

You'll also note that our joining the tag ranks happened at the same time that Wildchild left (breaking up Wild and Dangerous), the Boyscouts died, Toxxic's singles career caught fire (breaking up Psychological Warfare), and Janus/Aecas and Tom/Annie started feuding, breaking up those teams. You'll also remember that our tag reign was during the same period of time that one of the hottest angles to grace the tag division in a long time, the MVS/Mask/Todd love triangle, occurred, which was marked by the spectacular 42nd St./Flip Flop match (which I didn't help write... or did I?) and later by MVS/Mask.

We also defended the belts against a good Revolution Zero team before dropping the belts at Genesis, and of course the spectacular Casino Brawl match against John Duran and Crow, which I'd say was a sleeper MotN on the show it was on and would put up against any sub-7000 word match this year. Our first victory for the belts came over the same Unholy Trinity team that Wildchild so pimps himself beating, only we also beat the tandem of Annie and Tom.

Oh, and we broke the record for longest reign, but I try not to bring that up too much because there's a lot of 'questionable' things that contributed to our reign. I point more to Casino Brawl and the love triangle as things that really set our reign apart from anyone else's, because despite the lack of competition when we held them we still tried to do something interesting with the belts; and judging by nominations for feud of the year, I think we may have succeeded.

Preface: Let's not forget the Janus/Aecas incarnation of the Trinity's tag team smoked the hell out of Wild & Dangerous for the tag titles (much to their chagrin) There's my ego trip for the day. ;)

So, Mike, they didn't beat -us-, we beat -them-.

Unless you're referring to one of the numerous other tag incarnations of the Trinity. :D

Well I'd like to point out that me and Jimmy Freakin' Liston beat ALL FUCKING THREE OF YOUR TEAMS in the Tag Match from Hell. Well, outwrote anyway, as the Trinity ended up with the straps.

So the 'we beat you that time, so we're better' thing can stop right now, as we owned you ALL. But no-one could argue that me and Liston were contenders for team of the year - it's all done on averages, people.

That said, I marked for the Trinity. Which is why i had Janus lawn-dart Aecas over the top rope at us all :D

Please, don't hold back on my account...

Now that sounds like a challenge if I ever heard one... :firedevil:

And yeah, I was referring to the Dace/Aecas version of the UT that we beat, not the Janus/Aecas version that we lost to.

And where is Liston these days, by the way? ;)

Toxxic should change his tagline to "building his career over the corpses of one former tag team partner at a time." :)

Liston was never even active - when he found out he was being booked he tried to make time, but just couldn't do it. And what's this 'one former tag partner at a time' malarky? Liston was the only person I've ever been in anything like a vague team with - everyone else has merely been one-offs att he discretion of CC. And we never wrestled each other after we became a tag team - it's not like I had a program with him that ended in a crushing victory for me.

I reserve that for YOUR former tag team partners ;)
