AmazingRen 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 They keep saying HHH never beat Benoit, but HHH actually beat Benoit at No Mercy 2000. Another time they did something like this is when Undertaker said HHH never beat to the build up of WrestleMania 2001, but HHH beat him on a Smackdown before they feuded. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 There's usually a 3 week expiry date on WWE history. After that period of time, it's gone. Except when things from the past suit their needs. See: Late 1998, when McMahon was about to fire Michaels as commish. Then he used footage from February that year.

Vyce 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 Why am I reminded of that Simpson episode? WWE: "HHH has never beaten Benoit." Smart fan: "But that's wrong. He beat him in 2000." WWE: "We think we know our own history, fan boy."

AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 To honor the WWE, I'm gonna alter history to suit my needs. I'm an ex-President, 3-time WWF Champion and I invented Jesus. And didn't Trips beat Benoit on the Smackdown with the Radicalz's debut? EDIT-Some one already said it.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 I'm pretty sure that they mean that HHH never beat Benoit in his chase for the World Title, not HHH NEVER EVER (not EVER) beating Benoit before... Then again, I give this company way too much credit sometimes. Dames

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 "The man HHH has never Beaten" were pretty-much the exact words HBK used. And he also said he (HBK) has been "kickin HHH's ass" for 10 years. But then again, maybe they're staying SO close to history that they know HBK is a liar and they are counting on the fans to remember that and know he's lying now. Wow, maybe we don't give them enough credit!

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 Reminds me of when they hyped the Bret Hart/Steve Austin submission match and how Austin and Ross kept saying that Austin has never tapped out in his whole life...I'm pretty sure he's lost to submission several times in WCW, correct? Guest curry_man2002 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 i was thinking bout this the other day and WARNING the following comments i am about to make are not intentionally set out to be racist. i personally dont consider the rock to be a black wwf champion however if someone like and god forbid orlando jordon won the wwe title then i would consider him to be the first black champ this leads me to thinking about a topic that was opn this forum about vince mcmahon being a racist and then i thought he has never had a black man as his company top guy and when they are chasing the title (see booker t) they are prtraid as criminals. this all came in my head because (and i do this a lot) my class was boring in college so i drift off in to my own wrestling daydream and i was thinking no black wwf champs ever. does this seem weird to any of you? BHK 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 Yeah and The Rock was the 1st black heavyweight champion in pro wrestling's history. The Rock's BLACK? Seriously, the average fan probably doesn't even realize that. Also, that just doesn't apply to wrestling either. I've noticed that in wrestling, as well as in life, the more "white" a person is, it tends to make them more acceptable. For example, Halle Berry and J-Lo. Asian Americans in general could also possibly be placed into this category, since they are white.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 I think the problem with wrestling is that a huge chunk of it's fans are southern rednecks or white trailer trash (apologies for stereotypes) and they don't wanna lose a huge grouping of their fan base by having say Orlando Jordan or Shelton Benjamin as champs when all of us here at the Smarks recognize them as legitamate workers that can bring awesome matches...same thing as porn which is why a lot of the white females won't have sex with black males on tape, don't wanna lose that huge chunk of cash from that demograph... of course I could just be talking outta my ass... I agree 100%! As a black man I'm disappointed that the Rock doesn't show or recognize his African-American side. The closest WWE has tired is when the Coach said the Rock looks like him. Even the Rikishi-Austin angle had him portrayed as a Samoan.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 well I think his character portrays his african american side, but he is very proud of his samoan side too so I can't fault him for recognizing it...remember he was a member of NOD for awhile, a spin on the Black Panters/Nation Of Islam...I would be curious to see the title on Benjamin or Jordan as neither one of them is portrayed as a thug or a rapper or a dancer or a basketball player or a birdman or anything else stupid...it's similar to the japanese guys, they're almost always portrayed as sneaky and evil or clumsy and stupid...i mean, Tajiri speaks SOME english doesn't he? I'm sure Kenzo does to, but damned if I know it or not...
