CanadianChick Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 - The house show in Green Bay drew about 2700 last night. [PWInsider.com] - Trish Stratus has been having numbness in her hand recently. She will be seeing a doctor about it soon. [PWInsider.com] - Training for Tough Enough started today. All eight competitors will appear at the Smackdown taping on Tuesday. It is expected that Tough Enough will take up a lot of time on Smackdown each week as they will have taped footage as well as live footage involving the participants. [WrestlingObserver.com] - The highest rated segment on Smackdown this week was a 3.4 for the Tough Enough segment. [PWTorch.com] - Hulk Hogan has been hinting that he wants to work a tag match with his daughter, Brooke, against Vince and Stephanie McMahon at an upcoming WrestleMania. Brooke apparently hates wrestling but might go along with the idea to promote her singing career. [PWTorch.com] - Vince McMahon missed RAW on Monday due to the Survivor Series press conference. With him gone, word is that the agents meeting was a mess and the RAW script didn't get finished until much later than usual. [PWTorch.com] - WWE's Smackdown house show in Minneapolis, Minn. last Monday drew almost 4000 fans with 3000 fans paid in advance. WWE was said to be very happy with that crowd, especially considering that game six of the ALCS and RAW were on at the same time. [PWTorch.com] - Many wrestlers attended Edge's wedding last week including The Hurricane and Christian. [PWTorch.com] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully it isn't a neck injury with Trish. Do we really need anymore of those? The Hogans vs. McMahons? Hopefully that was just a joke that people took too seriously. Because, uh, who cares about Brook? And finally, congratulations to Edge. Lucky bitch...
Just John Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Did Edge get married to someone wrestling related?
Boner Kawanger Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 I thought Edge married Val Venis' sister years ago. Did they divorce?
CanadianChick Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Yep, when Edge was off for surgery. Must have realized that they weren't really right for each other when they spent so much time together.
The Mandarin Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Do wrestlers' marriages ever work?
CanadianChick Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Maybe if the wives/husbands aren't part of the business at all? Those marriages always seem alright.
Twisted Intestine Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 I wouldn't put the divorce rate for wrestlers any higher than for everyone else.
JoeDirt Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Do you think Tough Enough will continue to be the highest rated segments on SD?
Twisted Intestine Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 I can see people not caring about it after a couple of weeks.. Unless they can manage it well.. but it's the WWE.. The contestants will probably be running around trashing offices.
UZI Suicide Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 - Hulk Hogan has been hinting that he wants to work a tag match with his daughter, Brooke, against Vince and Stephanie McMahon at an upcoming WrestleMania. Brooke apparently hates wrestling but might go along with the idea to promote her singing career. [PWTorch.com] I'd pay to see a Brooke-Stephanie mud wrestling match, but I'd rather they leave Vince and Hulk out of it.
Use Your Illusion Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Maybe if the wives/husbands aren't part of the business at all? Those marriages always seem alright. Well Benoit & Nancy Sullivan have been together for what seems forever and, judging from the Benoit DVD, are still going strong. So there are some notable exceptions. Haitch probably does whatever necessary to appease his wife, as his power position depends on it.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 - Trish Stratus has been having numbness in her hand recently. She will be seeing a doctor about it soon. [PWInsider.com] I don't like Trish, but I wish her well. - Training for Tough Enough started today. All eight competitors will appear at the Smackdown taping on Tuesday. It is expected that Tough Enough will take up a lot of time on Smackdown each week as they will have taped footage as well as live footage involving the participants. [WrestlingObserver.com] I think "Stunning Steve" will win. - The highest rated segment on Smackdown this week was a 3.4 for the Tough Enough segment. [PWTorch.com] Wow, just wow. - Hulk Hogan has been hinting that he wants to work a tag match with his daughter, Brooke, against Vince and Stephanie McMahon at an upcoming WrestleMania. [PWTorch.com] How pathetic. - Many wrestlers attended Edge's wedding last week including The Hurricane and Christian. [PWTorch.com] Congrats to Edge, lets just hope he doesn't botch this one.

The contestants will probably be running around trashing offices. I'm just hoping that we don't have to see them selling whipped cream or trying to seduce Kamala. I can't think of anything more disturbing than the thought of a 300 lb guy saying "My BUTT's hungry".
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Just wondering, didn't Trish just come back from a broken hand? Could this be a case of her coming back before she was fully healed and now paying the price?
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 - Vince McMahon missed RAW on Monday due to the Survivor Series press conference. With him gone, word is that the agents meeting was a mess and the RAW script didn't get finished until much later than usual. [PWTorch.com] Vince really needs to hire better people.
AndrewTS Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Raw script finished "much later" = 5 minutes before showtime instead of 30 minutes before show time? Is 4000 for a TV show taping really that good?

Brooke apparently hates wrestling but might go along with the idea to promote her singing career. [PWTorch.com] Brooke just doesn't want the job of carrying the other three participants.

He had two kids before Nancy, but I don't know if they were both from his ex-wife. One certainly was.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Wasn't Vince ON Raw on Monday?
Fökai Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Wasn't Vince ON Raw on Monday? Yeah. Looked like they worded it wrong - he missed the writers' meeting.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Just wondering, didn't Trish just come back from a broken hand? Could this be a case of her coming back before she was fully healed and now paying the price? Unless I'm mistaken, it's a symptom of some back troubles she's been having recently.
Guest JericholicEdgeHead Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 "Vince McMahon missed RAW on Monday due to the Survivor Series press conference. [PWTorch.com]" Man this company is a mess now with Vince in charge and if the above is true, when Vince does retire or whatever, I think WWE is going to go downhill towards destruction quicker than we thought.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Anyone else notice that the reports of backstage chaos only really started once John Laurinatis was put in charge? Either the leaks to these people have gotten worse of late of Johnny has no fucking idea what he's doing.
Silence Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Anyone else notice that the reports of backstage chaos only really started once John Laurinatis was put in charge? Either the leaks to these people have gotten worse of late of Johnny has no fucking idea what he's doing. I'd have to say the latter. He's notorious for giving A-Train a push on Smackdown once.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 I think "Business being down" is the cause for most of the "backstage chaos". Wrestlers are working more dates, but making less money. That tends to make folks unhappy.
