Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 31, 2004 And I said to myself...what a wonderful world..... Packers beat the `Skins heading into a bye week where tehy can finally rest up all those nasty injuries right at .500 coming out the following week against a Minnesota team that got killed at home by the Giants. And the always schizophrenic Lions getting beat today by the Cowboys. Hey, Green Bay beating Washington today also means (supposedly) that Kerry will win the election. Amazing too, this is the first time all year that Green Bay has turned the ball over and won a game despite the turnovers. Washington's defense is good, but apparently not good enough. Thank god their offense is horrible... Brunell really looks like he's past his prime. He was constantly off-target, overthrowing or underthrowing his receivers all day. What a great day. Go Pack! Brunell needs to be benched, NOW. I know that it was a bogus call there at the end(the stupid bogus motion call against the Skins that called back their go ahead score), but Brunell was pretty bad all game long, especially missing Cooley wide open in the endzone. There is no reason to think Ramsey couldn't have this same team at 2-5 right now. Why must the Skins keep losing like this. At least get blown out, and let me leave the sportsbar early so I can cut down on 4th quarter beer.

Why in the world did Washington expect a guy who lost his starting job to Byron Leftwich to be their savior? Ramsey is a much better option. He isn't much better right now --- but he has an upside. And, Jesus, what the hell happened to N. England? Pittsburgh is bitch slapping them. -=Mike

Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 I can already hear the whining. "TY LAW HURT HIMSELF! DILLON IS OUT!" STFU. We lost our best defender last week, the heart and soul of our defense, and we're down to a bunch of rooks in our secondary, too. It ain't over yet by any means, but don't be making excuses if Pittsburgh ends up on top of this one. And as I say that, the Pats score. Ugh.

And Bellichek is considered the genius that doesn't need "star players" and can plug any player in. So any injury excuses are garbage to anyone outside of the New England area. Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 That's a stupid statement. I don't care who you are as a coach, if you lose your only good Running Back, your #1 reciever, and your 2 best Corner Backs, you are going to lose 90% of the time.
AlwaysPissedOff 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 Somewhat in Brunell's defense, he had gotten injured in the Indy game where Leftwich took over for him and became the starter, so it wasn't exactly his fault. To be honest, I was hoping he'd retire as a Jag because he's meant a lot to the franchise and it sucks to see him struggling like this.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 If New England loses then they lost to a better team on that week. It happens. It's not like Pittsburgh is a bad team. Pittsburgh wins, congrats to Pittsburgh and hope to see them and the Pats in the playoffs.

Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 Well he's better than the one most other people love so much On topic: Having a few injuries is one thing, but losing the ONE good RB you have, who has been incredible this year, hurts alot. Losing your best reciever for almost the entire season thus far hurts alot. Losing your best 2 Corner backs hurts ALOT...I don't care how much of a NFL genious you are there just isn't much chance to compete with a good team like Pittsburgh. Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 Who knows, though, if Dillon would've done any better? Pittsburgh has killed Dillon in the past when he played for Cincinatti. And let's not forget that Pittsburgh lost their top CB and the center of their defense last week; both teams have had their injuries.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Steelers have dominated the Patriots this entire game, I don't think Dillion or even law could've made a difference. Who would Law cover? Burress or Ward? The Steelers are damn good, maybe you Bostonians should start giving some fucking credit. Roethlisberger is for real. A rookie chewed up the defense. jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 The Steelers were probably hurt by injuries just as much as the Patriots this year anyway. They just outplayed them on both sides of the ball, especially the running game. Kendrell Bell--the true playmaker of their defense has been out all year, Casey Hampton--the guy who makes all the room for the linebackers to play, Tommy Maddox--the guy who was supposed to start all year at QB(though that actually helped more than it hurt), Chad Scott--the only non-first year starter in the secondary, Kendall Simmons--a big time pulling guard on the o-line who was supposed to be a huge part of the running game. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 1, 2004 What a pathetic team Denver has turned into. You should NEVER throw the ball 55 times in a game when Jake Plummer is your QB. I guess Shannahan just wants to gift wrap that division title for Kansas City or San Diego.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Goddamn, San Fran vs. Chicago...who schedules such horrific primetime football? They don't know what will be crap and what won't be crap.
